I know this may be late, but I found that latex and sometimes somewhat dried glue are also good ways on applying and smoothing out added accessories on cosplaying, I would suggest latex because it sticks on better while the glue can break... Wax works as well ^^ but it can be harder to find, you can find latex adhesive and glue at party stores and Amazon, glue (like Elmer's liquid glue) can be found at Target (or other simar stores). I have been trying to find a good Eridan cosplay tutorial and this is exactly what I needed ^^ I was planning on cosplaying him for Halloween. Continue your work!
