Brockovich faced many challenges in life that shaped her into who she is today. She became a celebrity after actress Julia Roberts played her in a 2000 movie inspired by her life.
Our water is contaminated, our food is contaminated. It is sad. Erin is putting on the good fight and she's an angel in a world full of devils and corruption.
That is way she is my idol I also struggle with a learning disability and is still treated and belittled because of it. It’s really difficult in life not because of the disability but because how your treated for being a slight bit different. People like her gives me hope and let’s me know, that a disability does not define you and anything is possible even if other people don’t agree, just because your thought process is different.
Two thing people forget or don't know. 1 you bring no harm 2 never look down on another person not unless your helping them up. Sorry for what your going thru but there are people out there who wouldn't treat you that way and I'm one of them.
I’m speaking as a person who has 5 male relatives from my dads side of the family who each have some form of Autism, 2 of 3 of them being high functioning. We love them for their individual personalities and their little quirks just the same as I love any of my relatives. If anyone looked down on them, belittled them or treated them negatively I would be broken hearted. You’re a unique individual, hold your head high and be proud my friend 💞
Im grateful for Erin. Because of her fight California has to let know people about the chemicals used to treat the water. It’s In our lease agreements at the apartment complex where I work
I love the movie Erin Brockovich and I love her. Despite her past, she has stumbled across something that she loves and is good at. I’m always rooting for Erin.
I've never intentionally seen the whole movie, but every time I come across it already playing, I stop & watch. Amazing story about a very determined woman. Sadly PG&E and others like them continue to profit of of the destruction of our environment.
There are so many similar illegal contamination like this. But it is EXPENSIVE to litigate, AND, most attys do not have the courage to do it, and, they are too lazy! Erin busted tail and got it done! That says a lot! You are only as good as your investigator(s) when you are an atty.
This Erin Brochavitch story reminds me alot about my brother teaching and showing me how to fight and defend myself when I was being bullied in highschool. My brother actually beat me up and tortured me to get me to get tough and defend myself, and it worked. Never again did the bully, mess with me. Thanks bro 🤕🙂
It has nothing to do with laziness. It is very expensive to litigate cases against companies that can and will do everything they can to prolong the case, hence cost more money. Anything can go wrong, and then the attorney loses everything.
@@JS-csnjjip Attys are also laZy. Yup. I know, I work in the legal profession. You agreed and said the same thing I did about it being expensive to litigate, so I don't understand your message.
Our neighborhood in Napa is marked by county as a high cancer place, I need her, EVERY house on our street.. CANCER plus nose bleeds, breast cysts..etc. HELP
Wow. Get in touch with her. It looks like she's still kicking ass legally. I live in Wales so im not too up on the USA stuff but please try. She's a humanitarian who goes the extra mile. 💕💖
Unreal.. how many people pick on you or the company because not enough was awarded to the victims. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? You all risked everything for that case. Erin, you are an inspiration and a leader. And... I watched several videos on you and the movie.. several times. today.. I think again..!!!!! YOU, no matter even if you are doing it for the money (which I do not believe)... go!!! And keep being you!
I do like the movie but it drives me crazy that every time I watch an interview or some kind of documentary it's constantly mentioned that Erin is a single mom of 3 kids (also mentioned multiple times in the movie) well okay that's great but not that unusual. A whole lot of successful single parents out there, but seems she has been put on a pedestal because she is a single mom! I think she did great things but enough already of the "single mom with 3 kids" .
Hey, fun factoid. So even though Erin Brockovich came out being some kind of hero and they even made a movie about her. The attorney office that she worked for took most and I mean most of the money from the settlements from that company that was polluting. To bad the media forgets to say or mentions it.
Perhaps the media didn’t say much about the lawyer’s fee, but the movie was upfront about it. It also made clear that the lawyer was not going to get a penny if the case wasn’t won. There were a lot of work hours put into the case. Yes, 40% of the award is a lot. On the other hand, would the plaintiffs have banded together and put money up front for a lawyer? I bet not. And, no, I am not a lawyer, nor are any of my friends and relatives.
That’s because the black attorneys sued the company and Erin Brockovich had to have the attorney’s office take all of the money in order to make a movie about the company. This is the real story that’s never talked about by white people.
Erin Brockovich is no hero or saint. This was the start of the environmental racism movement. Erin was the cause of frustration for many in her hometown of Kansas.
@@WilliamBrown-vb5ws I never personally said that she is a hero. But she is one of the darlings of the environmentalists, when she is just another lawyer.
@@HiThere-du4up and I never personally said you said that. She’s not anything but someone who tried and failed to make a profit off of white people. Then, when that didn’t work, tried to go after black people and failed miserably because she didn’t know that black people could be so swift and so intelligent.
Erin doesn't need to defer to an actor, no matter who it is. Overpaid people playing people. Erin selflessly gave her all to help the people of Hinkley. Julia's just an actor, Erin is a milestone in humanity.
It was a good movie the names were real but thats all some of those people who lived in Hinkley are homeless and broke living somewhere else now. Some lost everything and didn't gain anything. The legal settlements go everywhere to help everyone but the people effected. The movie was the only winner.
These huge train transport companies should have emergency response plans for each kind of chemical spill, designed for every kind of terrain and catastrophe... Already in their computer systems ready to be accessed and altered for more exacting responses at their fingertips nearly immediately during the first moments and accessible for any catastrophic problem that may arise. Along with knowing which of their response teams need to be activated and which Federal, STATE and local governments they may need to immediately get in touch with and activated. This is no longer the 1800's where they can hide from these dangerous events any longer. Full visibility, facts, and warnings, along with reaching out for the proper response teams in any area of the country must start immediately without fail, every time. These types of catastrophes can easily rival NUCLEAR power plant disasters very quickly and can easily have as long lasting and as detrimental effects over just as large areas. And these effects can also reach around the world within hours to days. These companies have been in this business for well over one hundred years. For these companies to act like these disasters of catastrophic proportions are a surprise is ridiculous. Or like it's a once in a lifetime event they never expected as a possibility is ridiculous. For them to not be nationally prepared constantly IS A JOKE AND VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO EVERYONE DIRECTLY INVOLVED AND TO ALL AMERICANS IN GENERAL. IF THIS IS THEIR BUSINESS, IT'S THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND THE LEAST THAT SHOULD BE EXPECTED OF THEM, IF THEY PLAN TO KEEP DOING BUSINESS ON AMERICAN SOIL, RISING AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVES, LIVELY HOODS, HOMES, AND FUTURES. THEY SHOULD ALSO HAVE A BILLION DOLLAR OR MORE MINIMUM TRUST AVAILABLE FROM EACH TRAIN TRANSPORT COMPANY AT ALL TIMES. WITH NO EXCEPTIONS READY TO START PAYING FOR ANYTHING NEEDED. And citizen groups from the involved areas must be an important part of knowing and responding to these events at every stage possible from moment one.. This should be a key part of every national train transport company. Bankruptcy should never be the financial way out for these companies if they are to be in this business with these size and kinds of physical, health and environmental risks while carrying out their everyday business models. These companies that are having their chemicals transported must also keep these billion dollar trusts for their own responsibilities involved with their chemicals heading in every direction. After all, these companies that produce, store, and handle these chemicals. Should be the most knowledgeable in every aspect of what kinds of disaster responses would work best in nearly all circumstances. Much better than train transport companies alone.. There needs to be a multi prong approach to best deal with these events, for best collection, best mitigation and then into the best long term responses continually to be needed. We need the blame responses, costs and needed actions to come as directly from the parties and companies involved at every level.. OR THESE CHEMICALS SHOULD NOT BE TRANSPORT IN SUCH LARGE QUANTITIES BY ANY COMPANY OR INDIVIDUALS. AMERICA NEEDS TO START FIXING ALL PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE CATASTROPHES AT THEIR CORES BEFORE THEY HAPPEN. AND WHEN NEEDED THEY MUST BE PROPERLY HANDLED FROM THAT POINT FORWARD AS WELL. WE ONLY HAVE ONE AMERICA AND ONE WORLD. WE AS A COUNTRY MUST RESPECT AND TAKE CARE OF THESE AS BEST WE CAN. OTHERWISE WE HAVE NO OTHER PLACE TO HIDE FROM OUR OWN DESTRUCTION. Now is the proper time to work out these long term solutions. And every American and especially those effect individual in these events taking place at this time are the best ones to start this forward looking and acting needed structure of organization, rules, laws, trusts, and whatever else is to be needed... TODAY IS THAT DAY, IN THE FUTURE WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOOK BACK TO AS THE EVENT HORIZON THAT WILL FOREVER HELP US WORK TO PROTECT AMERICA AND THE WORLD..
People who worked on behalf of you help us get money from a coal company in Kentucky. Southeast Kentucky. It was because of certain coal company putting things into the water bad chemicals.
Typical hypocrite. She is one of the many who have been fined for using an excessive amount of water during a drought. But, she really cares about the environment.... as long as she doesn't have to sacrifice her luxuries.
