Going to miss this series. I used to have my driving lesson every Sunday at 11:30 so would watch Erin’s lessons before I went as it’s often the same roads I was driving on. I passed my test first time on Tuesday and these videos have helped a lot. Thanks Ashley and Erin and good luck to Erin with her driving. X
I would even like a little bit more of a follow-up. like a short video from Erin how her first drives went after passing the test, driving on her own, adjusting to the car she will be driving. Maybe even something about route planning on her own.
@@mofomarnie I couldn’t agree more. I’ve just watched the full video and I’m a tad shocked (maybe shocked is a strong word) at her overall level. She’s had 40 odd lessons (some £1000+ in costs) and she’s no where near test level.
This is it. I feel like I have been invested in a long journey of the main character as they have developed and grown so much throughout. And now I am on the final pages of the novel where she is tested and hopefully comes out on top. Good luck to Erin. She has got this in the bag. She is a great learner, and she has a great instructor.
I have never sat in a car with ash but I class ash as my instructor as I binged on his vids and passed my test first time even tho I had no real life instructor. So Erin should fly through it 😉

Good luck with the next chapter Erin ! You’ve come a long way. Just look at how well especially that first bit went compared to some of your earlier lessons. That was all you!! You can make that same improvement on the few more remaining complex situations that you were struggling with now. You just gotta want it! Remember, learning is the whole point of teaching ;) Good luck with the job, and have fun.
Aw will so miss Erin's videos, I've been following them from the beginning. I just wish I had started when I was younger, I've just turned 57 and have been taking lessons for almost a year now (minus a few months due to covid), but I'm now test ready!! You will do it Erin!! Good luck with your new job & driving test when it comes up and thanks again for making these videos Ashley, they are so helpful and informative 😊👍

Lots of luck for the future, Erin. It has been great watching you from Lesson 1. I, too, am doing my driving lessons at the moment and nearing the end of them. I'm almost 36 years old and now cannot wait to get my licence. I'm going into 3rd Year at university then, once I graduate, I hope to become a teacher too. We both will have our driving licence soon! I will definitely miss watching your lessons on Sundays. Hopefully Ashley will let us know when you pass your test.
I wish Ashley could be my driving instructor, he is so thoughtful but also honest and straight to the point. Can he be cloned and brought up north please? Good luck with everything Erin!
Well Done Erin!! Stay calm, as always, and you'll be fine! I'm from southampton, had my lesson on 27th December last year, in the morning so it was dead quiet, which made it easy to pass. Make sure you get an extra lesson to learn parts of the test route that people often trip up on
all the best Erin in your new job and new driving instructor i started watching form the 1st lesson and have really enjoyed it. just started my lessons up again this is the reply i wrote in lesson 36 part 2. I started taking lessons last year had to do intensive course as my daughter-in-law was going into hospital for an operation and could not drive for 8 weeks she the only driver. But l lack of funds i my part meant i could not continue with my lessons so my instructor and i talked he said pay the balance when you can it is now paid off now starting lessons again soon. i was taking private lesson with my daughter-in-law she put me on her insurance last year but that had to stop for a while. now i can not to anything till after the 1st August i had to shiel fo 18 weeks due to my health conditions. I have been back on my lessons now since the 4th August and all is going well while i have been watching these lessons i've picked up on things that i'm doing in my lessons.
Good luck Erin, the thing about learning is every mistake picked up is a learning point. The trick is to learn to recognise them yourself, work out what to do better next time and don't let it phase you. We all make mistakes even after the test and are always improving

Your videos really help me to get more drivers awarness myself aswell! eventough i have my license for 4,5 years now. i still feel like i am just a learner (which i theoretically still am) these clips also give me allot of insight on how the UK road systems and rules work as i am planning to drive from Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Aberdeen with a view stops! :)
Yes there was some faults, but Ash is right you really have come a long, long way. Definitely gonna miss seeing this on Sundays, hope we can get a video or post when the day comes and you pass! / Also feel for Ash not being able to solely help get your license I'm sure he really wanted to, either way I'm sure he'll be rooting for you regardless. Making sure where u want to go is clear before you go..... Very important. Just after I passed I was following a bit too closely behind a car which turned off into a pub car park...which involved them going over an inclined path. They stalled & rolled backwards into the road in front of me. Yes I managed to stop, but only just. Always leave a gap, and always make sure you can get onto the roundabout and out of the way of potential traffic. If the proximity beeper goes, your very close. When you change over to a car such as a fiesta, or similar, maybe with petrol (tho not necessarily), it will be a fair bit different. The clutch will feel different, the gears, the steering a bit, blind spots, the way it handles round bends (being front wheel drive, and that bmw is rear wheel drive), and the noise levels-especially if it’s a petrol-listening for the bite point will be different. Back in the day my driving instructors car was a 1.0 petrol fiesta (no fancy turbo back then) but at the weekend I would go out with my folks in their Astra....this was a poverty spec Astra as well with the smallest 1.2 engine. Totally different cars. That really was an issue. I tried to pull away in the fiesta keeping the noise level like the Astra....and it never worked. Stalled every time until I grasped the idea that different cars drive differently. You maybe faced with a manual handbrake! Good luck.

Good luck in your future endeavours Erin and am confident you will pass down South. Well done Ashley on the great work since day 1. However I do feel it would be better if you didn't travel down south on the day of her test as it would just add unnecessary pressure.

Kind of thing, well how nice it would be if you got something different when doing the correct speed, like a smiley face or so, well, I saw one! Really liking the channel and content. I know I’m rather late here but after some 40 odd lessons and £1000+ in driving costs I’m surprised at her level. Clutch seems to still be an issue, steering and road awareness seems lacking as well as gears / speed and decision making need more than a bit of work. I am no driving instructor but I think she still has a lot of miles to get under her belt before she can pass.
Congrats on the new job Erin! Really going to miss the highlight of my week with the series over, hopefully Ash can find a new victim... I mean, willing participant. Let us know when you do pass.
Arr ey, I'm going to miss Erin's endeavors. Never mind there is Alexii on DCB which is always fun to watch though she was harassed by fake police and I don't think she has driven since (or she has now paid for properrr lessons!?) Southampton isn't far from Bristol, maybe Erin can take some lessons from Benji? ;) (just kidding)
Do you not think at 36:00 she was just trying to creep forward and go after the taxi? Even though she said she wanted to go before but it looked as if she planned to go after
As much as it always sounds like you are having a moan at the students I always take it to be down to the fact that being a bit more tough makes people remember the point you are trying to get across. Was definitely the way I was when I was learning to pass my test(s). (Hgv C+E driver here)
Why is shuffling the wheel still taught? I thought it was outdated and found to have been more of a hinderance when controlling the wheel over other techniques
