Chancellor of Soul, Mike Boone presents a new entity on the 'Soul Facts Show' entitled, 'A Tribute To The Siblings of Soul' , a brother or sister related to a famous artist that overshadowed their success.
This edition features an older sister, who's a sibling to a famous iconic middle child, named Aretha Franklin but who's status in the
music business deserves credibility in her own rite.
Ms Erma Franklin.

They could have made major bucks if the Franklin sisters would have worked their talent for each other.Carol with her composing playing the piano and vocals also Erma with her vocals.These women would have tore down the industry with their talent ; however I do understand trying hard to get out of the shadow of their sister THE QUEEN OF SOUL..These ladies were phenomenal !!

Do you realise that they were born in the time of Jim Crow laws? How easy do you think it was for black talents to establish anything? The ‘divide’ in ‘divide and rule” meant the sisters needed to do the dividing. Still, read the credits on their work. You”ll see that they always were teamed up.
@reddfyareddfya
@reddfyareddfya 3 года назад
@@stillevolving5582 I'm aware of the credits of Carolyn & Erma writing , singing and background singing. Even being born in the Jim Crow era , so was Berry Gordy , Smokie Robinson, and Norman Whitfield just to name a few. The point is if the ladies could have stuck as A TEAM they would have stormed the world.

Why are our stories of Black Icons usually so sad? This Black Woman's music was stolen from her, and unfortunately this is the first time that I've ever heard of her. If Queen Aretha didn't pass on, I wouldn't know about any of the work that her sisters did for music. Sad! Amazing voice, too.

Those Franklin sisters were so talented. It must have been very difficult for Aretha to go on after the lose of her sisters, Carolyn in 1988 and Erma in 2002. Irma had a very nice voice, its just wasn't in the cards for her," so to speak" Aretha didn't want to sing but it was her father that saw the gift in her and push her towards it. Irma was a song writer and Aretha was a singer. But even if Irma had made it that wouldn't have had any barring on Aretha, she would still be Queen of Soul.

If u help each other, then you’re going to be able to help other people n so on n so on. We r too selfish to each otr. So it leads to being selfish to yourself. Like the waves of the ocean. After he molested another girl in New York, they moved to Detroit. He then started messing around with Clara Wars and many other women. His wife finally got fed up and left.

SIBLING'S DISEASE - is when you have a more famous brother/sister and you're living in their shadow. Erma & Carolyn Franklin, Dee Dee Warwick, Tito, Marlon, Jackie, LaTonya and Reebie Jackson suffered from it! Jermaine and Janet didn't! Now having said that, if I were Erma's manager I would have had her sing jazz instead! She in fact is a better jazz singer than Aretha in my opinion and wouldn't have competed with Aretha. I based that on the song she did called DETOUR AHEAD. Beautiful song!
