@@SoneaEvo Levan didn't even feel Dave, i don't see this match being close, Also Ermes is incredible if he has the wrist, but without the wrist he's not as good, and against Levan i don't know how you're even gonna have the wrist unfortunately. I still wanna see them pull tho.
@@luigimanzelli3786 He felt him a little, but only by like 5-8 percent, which believe it or not is almost a statement in itself in this current climate against levan, basically if you can make him strain and have to show even minimal like 10 percent + effort its a semi "win" in itself.
I remember 3 years ago when Ermes explained why he lost to Matt Mask in the WAL, many people were disrespecting him, saying sore loser, "practice champion of the world", blah blah blah.. Now Ermes is showing his true potential and all those haters are condemned to shut up for eternity. This is so satisfying.
If you want to look at his physique from the first Matt Mask fight to this very moment and not acknowledge the change in his physique you might be practicing some form of denial. Is he formidable? Of course he is.
He only lost to Matt because Matt false started every round besides the first one. He would have smashed him otherwise. Ermes has always been a very good puller.
Guys let’s appreciate the amount of incredible matches Dave has been part of. I mean from winning a match agains Denis, making Devon stay under the table for most of match, incredible match against Genadi where he almost won, then win against Vitaly which many consider as best match in history and finally a very good match against Ermes. No wonder Dave is the yardstick against which if you belong to top 5 is determined.
@@diehardparamveer I really love so many of these dudes Brzenk, Larrat, really really liking Jerry cadorette the more I watch his matches old and new, Ermes, Prudnyk, Laelatin, but it is 100 percent objectively true that Dave Chafee is one of like maybe 3-5 greats max who have that level of class/humility/ and lack of bullshitery whether it be strap set up shenanigan's/ excessive fouls then when caught whining about them etc etc, basically the polar opposite of a Jerry cadorette or Travis Baggant or Devon etc in that regard, though I love all those dudes regardless.

Ermes probably is number two, but Morozov is improving super fast too. However, the only one screaming vs God were the italians. I do not want to repeat what they said several times during the match but for every person understanding italian is very clear.

@@TheJohnbusi I don't think Levan would be willing to drop weight to give his competitors a chance at beating him. He's worked too hard to be at the top of the food chain. I believe Levan's attitude at this point of his career is a "Catch me if you can!" attitude. And IF Levan were to drop weight and agree to a weight limit, he would do it out of arrogance and not sportsmanship. Just my opinion.
Ermes is really powerful! Uncannily powerful is exactly the right word for his strength.. Just look at how he tackled dave from a defensive position, numerous times. He turned the tide of the match in a second... That too against someone really powerful like dave. Ermes really has a bright future, if he stays on like this! @@Andrei19Maran Pushkar isn't here anymore to show us if he could go against Levan, something I really doubt knowing that Devon was able to hold him and beat him. The point is, Levan defeated Chaffee in a much dominating way that Denis ever could. Until Cyplenkov starts arm wrestling for real again, instead of just doing table matches that don't prove anything, we will know if he is a real #1 contender.

I think Dave transitions to the press to give his side pressure muscles a break, giving him better longevity in his matches. Smart. I think Chaffee will continue to evolve to try to solve his endurance issues.

In 1985, Mike Tyson fought 3 times in the month of November. 4 Times!! in a single one month period (from Oct 25th-Nov 22nd). He was 19. Tyson was a phenomenon.
I miss the days of active fighters man, these days once a fighter reaches the championship level its a blessing if they even have two fights a year- often times its like 1- when Canelo had 4 fights in the span of 11 months in 2020-2021 that was a huge deal 3 of them against champs/top guys to, but very rare, the days of Tyson and Bowe fighting like 7-15 times a year are long gone sadly, but yeah awesome seeing greats like Chafee still top rated and being very active!.
@@danielhicks4826 Bowe had 13 fights in 1989. 3 in November, just like Tyson's Nov of '85. However, he did not have 4 fights in 4 weeks like Tyson, but still awesome. Lighter fighters sometimes rack up large numbers of fights, but big boxers fighting constantly I think is a thing of the past.
Ermes struggling with Dave while Devon manhandled Dave recently, would love to see Devon seriously take on Ermes, I still think Ermes has the edge but it will be close and could go either way.

What a battle. Even if the reffing was shotty (granted it's extremely hard to make split second decisions and judgements about milometers of distance!) glad to get so many pulls in a best of 3. Great match! Great sportsmanship also!
It is unbelievable what a monster Devon must be considering the fact that Ermes destroyed Dave who actually is super strong and Devon was playing with Ermes and finally beat him almost effortlessly.
