If you look carefully at the score or if you listen carefully, you will see or hear taht this is not at all written as a concerto. The two "soloists" are highlighted, for sure, but it is always in conjunction with other instruments, which is the sign of good chamber music.

Gérard Begni well you are very right. There are some parts that the violin and the piano alone but most of the time it's chamber. I looked indeed at the title and it's concert. So i will change it. Thank you.

No, "concert" is merely the French translation of the English word "concerto." This piece definitely has elements of being a piano concerto, violin concerto, and chamber music. And even if it didn't, music terms can somewhat change meaning over time - take motets for example. Also, if you want to make the argument that this is not a concerto, you could say the same thing about Chopin's concertos compared to Rachmaninoff's for example, since the former works don't really have the soloistic lines that say the Rachmaninoff 3rd does. You could say "Chopin's concertos should really be referred to as orchestral chamber music with the piano "highlighted." Chausson also titled this piece in order of instruments as - piano, violin, then string quartet, if you look at his original manuscript (available online or at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York) - and if you look it up in Grove's music dictionary, the correct English title of this piece as he wrote it should be "Concerto for Piano, Violin, and String Quartet", or you could fill in normal published information and call it "Concerto in D Major for Piano, Violin, and String Quartet, Op. 21".

​@@pfhil07 : "concert" is NOT the french translation for the « English word "concerto." », as you say. In French as in English, the italian word "concerto" is used. Chaussons sketches from the year 1897, "Concerto pour piano, hautbois, alto et quatuor à cordes", are an element in favor of the word "concert" not being used as with the same meaning as "concerto".
