my questions is when Jim Varney was dressed as the elderly woman in the prison in Earnest goes to jail were does he get the rest of the material for the outfit and how did he manage to walk around for several minutes with those chain balls up his dress without them falling out on him and how he managed to keep them up that dress for that long those are questions the world may never Know
Oh, I know same here. or when he is a jury in court and he chews the black pen it breaks, he was being so polite even the judge knew and chewed the paper and said just fine thank you.
It's true. He was very underrated. Dude was very talented. Never given his dues. Did I just make an accidental rhyme? I think Jim would be proud, because that was totally unintentional. His silly laugh was awesome❤
"I need him to help me with my will...having walked from the airport I'll be dead soon...." "That's life for you, you have two sons. One good. One bad. And wouldn't you know it, with my luck...the good one dies."
Me and my dad used to crack up at the Ernest movies when I was a kid. But when rimshot was turned to wood it was the saddest thing I ever saw as a kid.
Asher Clement has got to be, by far, the funniest character Jim Barney played as Ernest's extended characters. The jail cell scene makes me laugh to this day!
They definitely would've needed a different script and have it be made in the mid to late 90s instead. Probably a comedy that's like if you combined Dr. Otto with his disguises and Ernest Goes to Jail's mistaken identity situation. Maybe more like a secret agent movie instead.
Jim Varney would have been among the greatest voice actors in 2021, we would probably have heard his voice as a character in every animated show growing up
Jim reminded me of Peter Sellers at times (example; Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learn to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb) when he would play multiple roles.
Before Madea, before big momma, and even before ms. Doubtfire (I think), there was Jim Varney and his brilliant grandmother portrayal and all his other outrageous split personalities. Him and Dana Carvey should have had a split personality showdown back in the day. That would have been awesome
Lol the personality at 6:20 i used to do when i was a kid all the time, lol, it's only after watching this video I remember I was copying Ernest. Lol 6:20 snakeman just makes me lol a lot.
I would put money on Phillip Seymour Hoffman channelling the character Aster in The Big Lebowski. That laugh is exact. Yes Im aware it's a preppy arch type but it's very close to me.
Daniel Day Lewis was the best actor for 1990 for My Left Foot. But I think Jim Carney’s acting in Ernest Goes to Jail has more residual depth because of the variety and simplicity of the characters he displays.
Dan S Well he made children’s movies...so it makes sense. And so was Mr Rogers. Dont go there man, Jim Varney was a good dude. No, thats not me being shitty - but hes no Bill Cosby, Pee Wee Herman, or Epstein....lets not hint on like he was.
Ironically, there were only three Ernest movies where he hangs out with kids out of his 9 movies. Ernest Goes to Camp, Ernest Scared Stupid and Ernest Goes to School.
