Ik vind dat, eerlijk gezegd, geen interessante muziek. Maar welke is dat, uiteindelijk, wél ? Chavela Vargas, d'at was grote klasse en met 'sentido', iets wat ge bij Pollini, Michelangeli, Pletnev, Richter en Argerich zelden erbij krijgt!
het is een show nummer, de andere 10 bis nummers staan trouwens ook op you tube...maar in de virtuoze steil is dit wel een leuke bewerking, al is het originele werk toch nog wel een echt pareltje!
Tja, muziek zegt mij haast niets meer... De Verlichte Meester Bhagwan beschrijft de evolutie die ik doormaak en ook mijn goede vriend Vincent verkeert al meerdere jaren in deze fase. Desalniettemin hoor ik uiteraard wél het verschil tussen een groot musicus en notenmachines zoals de oudere Michelangeli, Richter en Pollini. Blijkbaar zijn er vele lieden die dit onderscheid niet eens kunnen maken! En zeggen dat er zo'n zijn die ook nog 'muziek' onderrichten aan kinderen! Hartelijk, Geert.
masterful - personally , inspired to learn this composition just because was the first , as a student, i found was conducive to so much individual interpretation.
Is it just me or does Volodos seem almost sad at the end? He stands up and stares at the audience without a smile, and his eyes seem tired and cold. :(
That’s just him. He’s not a bubbly happy type of person. He’s complex. He loves piano and loves producing music. I heard he struggles to feel satisfied with his performances, and wasn’t happy about PR stuff forcing him to gain fame through virtuosity alone. He embodies the dichotomy of indulgence and restraint. Though I didn’t get a “I’m tired and cold” impression from the bow as much of a “yeah everybody, that’s me, a fucking machine, but I’ll stay humble.”
As far as I know, Volodos doesn’t release scores of his own arrangements. (Maybe he never wrote them down.) You’ll have to find other people’s transcriptions of his works.
