Impulse hits hard. It’s amazing how many fans ERRA has garnered and how many people love all ERRA music. However when I think of ERRA , Impulse is the album that comes to mind. I was an early fan in 2011. I still stream this album the most out of all their releases. Northlane Singularity was another heavy hitter
@@dlrsnate5100 Same! It hits me quite harder than their other albums, solely because what I first heard from ERRA was Pattern Interrupt before going through the rest of the album and Andromeda. I still remember how it felt falling in love with that song; it was all I played for days lol
@@miredmind I think their recent self titled 2021 is also the next album that hits hard. It almost sounds like a sequel to Impulse. For me it’s 1. Impulse 2. Self titled LP 3. Augment 4. Neon/ Drift are the same to me I’m indifferent in those two
the one most perfect piece of music ive ever heard in my life is Dementia by Erra....that to me has the best, sound, rhythm, soul, everything....to me...the whole song it speaks spiritual emotion into my soul....experience it bro youll see what i mean
Motion after motion, the gears of process slow. I’ve seen the actions of the past conflict with tension. In a weakened state, solitude is found. Abound are those lead blindly without resistance. Alone, in myself, I find solid ground. Deeper into the introvert psyche, carried by my curiosity. I found a wonderment without a watcher awaiting for a worthwhile ponder. I can interpret the faint details that are not discovered within myself. This brute is untouchable to the chaos of the masses. Set apart in the void, rendered endless. Braced by sashes. Staring into the glass, a glare wears on the eyes. Seeing into my pane is an omen and a disguise. Broken by the repetition of the obsidian midnight rendition. If an optimistic glimpse showed through, I’d be more blind than the soul in you. Motion after motion, the gears of process slow. As I worsen and wither, this cavity grows. I can Interpret the faint details that are not discovered within myself. This brute is untouchable to the chaos of the masses. Set apart in the void, rendered endless. Set apart in the void, braced by sashes. Motion after motion. Render the Void. Broken by the repetition of the obsidian midnight rendition. If an optimistic glimpse showed through, I’d be more blind than the soul in you. Set apart In the void. Motion after motion, the gears of process slow. Set apart in the void.
The ending clean vocals intertwined with the aggressive strumming creates this beautiful contrasting melody...that one can't help but stop and appreciate the intricacy of it all... Erra, a severely underrated band, shows such astonishing potential in each of their songs, you start to wonder where the hell have they been all this time!! Hats off!!!
Rahul Subramanian they are growing. perfection like this cannot go so long without being noticed. this song seriously...makes me want to cry. and i don't care.
Unfortunately Garrison and Alan are no longer with the band. They contributed so much to their sound that Moments of Clarity, though very much Erra , just doesn't compare.
I totally agree. I still feel their album Impulse has some of the best tracks they've ever produced. Songs like Efflorescent, Render The Void, Heart have such depth. Beyond that the succeeding albums showed a decline in music and lyrical quality.
Listening to this after Erra's newest self-titled ERRA release, I've come to realize that Jesse already embodied true greatness 10 years ago. I'm so happy that he stuck through garrison and alan leaving, and continued the amazing progression. We should all be extremely thankful that someone as dedicated and talented grew the idea of this band from a seed into a beautiful flower.
man thank god there are people like you still here. i really miss garrison though but jesse actually made me cry with Dementia. that song still makes me cry. jesse is a genuis ;-; i really wish we could have an augment again :(
Oh man. Oh man. Didn´t know this song from Erra! It is like the metalcore dream track! Amazing and atmospheric instrumental work Creative but catchy structure Pumping and motivational riffs Meaningful lyrics Fucking brutal screams Impressive clean choruses Melancholic and beautiful outro FUCK.
Peculiar Entertainment Hahaha I know bro, I know xD. Here in my country we have a saying: «It's never too late if the joy is good enough» (aproximate translation) so I'm glad too haha I knew the band anyway, but hadn't listened to them very much (a few songs from Augment only). Greets^^
Exactly, that's what made me like Djent/progressive metalcore! Their instrumentals are melodic, atmospheric (like they give you a feeling that you're traveling through space) and their song structures are midly disorganized or unpredictable to extremely chaotic like Oceans Ate Alaska. But sadly, djent nowadays are just very catchy breakdowns and their song structure is standard in terms of how majority of songs go. Not that I don't like breakdowns, but can we bring back the awesome atmospheric lead guitar work/melodies into djent pls. 🙏
@@kaiserbrutus730 We think alike, I like djent a lot and specially Oceans Ate Alaska. I had Lost Isles album on repeat for months straight. Liked Hikari a lot too.
haha your in alot of their videos you maus also be a huge Erra fan! i dont think Ian is nearly as bad as people say. I think Jesse did and still does make this band the most. But man this band is and always has been incredible
Tyler Wafflez yeah, I'm a huge fan, guilty as charged. I don't listen to moments of clarity half as much as i do the other two albums, but Ian is not bad at all, will never be garrison but thats ok, i can't help but wonder what another album with him would have been like tho :/ too bad we might never know. unless he pulls a Jesse Leach that would be fucking awesome. can't wait for their new album though.
sarin royce respect!!! Dreamcatcher was the first song I heard from Erra and its one of my favs. My favorite song from Erra is Render The Void. The ending of that album (that song) is incredible! Jesse's vocals made my spirit leave my body and go to a happy place with the end of that song!!!
Impulse is without a doubt one of the best albums I've ever heard. Getting the heavy/melodic balance right is a very hard thing to do but Erra nail it. The choruses absolutely soar, the more melodic parts are beautifully atmospheric and the album art sums up their sound perfectly. I really hope these guys get the fame they deserve, and I feel nothing short of privileged to have heard them before most.
Idk what it is about this song but to me this is easily the most emotional Erra song. The way Jesse sings the chorus and that outro and the way Garrison screams “This brute is untouchable” is truly special. One of their best songs, but I really love everything on Impulse and Augment.
They could have kept that intro groove going for a solid minute and I’d be happy. The otherworldly mixing of djent with angelic harps stood out to me when I first heard this song years ago and now many years later I have still not heard anything else quite like it, not even from this band
I discovered this song TODAY! Fucking April 2017 and this came out in 2011? WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK I WASTED TOO MUCH TIME! This and Dementia is actually driving me nuts, I just wanna break things everywhere or some shit...I LOVE THESE SONGS!
Erra reminds me of Misery Signals a lot. In an era of music where a lot of it does sound alike they come in and give you a totally refreshing sound. Haven't stopped listening to this since I heard Invent. Great band.
Best album outtro in metalcore imo. Erra was so unique back then. Now they are a northlane clone. We didnt deserve to be blest with adam, garrison, and alan as musicians, yet here we are. If you are reading this, stop a moment and have a cup of coffee with me while we enjoy this masterpiece, set apart in this void from the chaos of the masses... ☕️

some days ago, i'm love with a girl, and i starts listen erra, its like i'm making a fukcing perfect future story with this girl in my mind, erra is a fantastic band, its my favorite, please come to brazil guys!!
Tell all your friends about em! The more fans that a band has in a certain city, state, or country, the more likely it is that the band will tour there.
This album was so atmospherically sound . I love that I’ve been able to carry this album with me over the years and can now blast it in my car. I couldn’t drive when this album came out I was 16. Now I’m 27 and the album sounds better than ever . Especially with all the crap that’s out now. Northlane- Discoveries Erra - Impulse Volumes - Via These albums are mint
@@MrPatrickbuit lol, my favorite songs from both were written by jesse. The architect, hybrid earth, dementia, prometheus (or was it crimson), etc (i forgot the others lol). But alan did write a lot.
@@chadmarx7718 It makes no sense. I’m sorry but I just don’t buy it. Why would Jesse suddenly change his writing style (for the worse) the moment Alan left the band? There’s no way Alan didn’t have a major impact on the writing of those tracks. Then the Artificials’ album “Heart” shows up and it has the exact same writing style (erratic, fast paced riffs. Without an overdose of ambience) as Impulse and Augment did, while Drift is completely different from those two. The fact that Alan wrote an album that was more like Erra than anything Erra themselves produced after Alan left the band causes me to seriously doubt that Jesse really wrote those songs without Alan’s influence.
@@MrPatrickbuit you can say that all you want, but it's pretty common knowledge that jesse wrote those, and for sure i forgot to include others. Listen to MOC though that didnt live, up to the first 2 albums, there was style the old erra style in there, but there was no alan to write with. Changing sound from drift onwards was a conscious decision
the guys clean vocals are like kellin quinn but better nigga be on that high sing sing note game but in a proggressive band with sick musicians and intellectual lyrics. if you listen to erra and like them you gotta be a person with a brain to appreciate them
i dont see why people have to be upset about the way someone tries to potray words. Because that is what vocals are. they set moods and tones to a song much like poetry in the sense of mood and tone. But noone hates the author or a poet for using repetition, or using imagery, or metaphor or allusion, why would anyone care about the singer or the screaming? its the way THEY wanted the work to be pieced and potrayed and what emotion and beauty it gives off listening to it.itsperfect the way it is.
I don't under stand why the leans are getting so much hate. It's secondary vocals, thy're not supposed to be the most dynamic thing in the fucking world. They do exactly what they're supposed to. This guy can even hit these notes live which is better than most clean vocalists live, on top of that he plays guitar while doing them, the kid has got talent.
Obscure words or Seven are the ones I always loved, but Render the void is the best.. This whole album is the closest to musical perfection between the technicality, the cleans, and riffs, this album was the best one i ever bought
3:50 - 5:20 The rest of the song is ok, but this particular part is one of the greatest pieces of musical composition in the history of music, and why I listen to ERRA. It hits my heart hard every time I hear it, all through the 7 or so years I've known about this song. Jesse deserves an award for that shit. If you disagree, you're an idiot.
