I can't get enough of these playthroughs. Please keep them coming! It's an absolute pleasure to listen to the instrumentals (no disrespect to the vocals at all!) and see how the riffs are played by the writer. An absolute brilliant album altogether and amazing to view the playing style
It’s the tapping riff for me…. Every time you guys go a heavier song than the usual ERRA, it always ends up being a favorite from the album. Whether it’s Vaalbara, Valhalla, or now Scorpion Hymn. An entire album of heavy ERRA might melt my brain.
I'm sitting at a friends house saturday, and Charlie asks me if I play guitar, come to find out Jesse is Charlie's brother. Small town Oak Grove Alabama, and his brother plays guitar for one of the biggest metal bands on the scene right now. Lol it's such a small world.
Which one though? Pretty much the whole song is a breakdown.😆 My favourite is the one that starts at 1:30 ... that low, guttural "eeeee!" growl from J.T is so fittingly nasty too and I can't help but make the stank face when it kicks in!
For anyone in the comments that hasn't witnessed it first hand this man absolutely nails his vocals on top of shredding like this. Unreal to watch him live.
That second verse (especially that tapping riff) is one of the best seriously heavy sounds I’ve ever heard. The way that first note of each measure hangs out before the tapping just gives such a feeling of crushing, deliberate, total power. It’s indescribably sick (and gets even more so with J.T.’s vocals)
I have a feeling that overtime, they'll release playthroughs for all the songs on the new album and then release it instrumentally on streaming services.

I know nothing about how to play the guitar but these playthroughs are captivating! Erra, your music is magic and this album is super effing lit! Cant wait to see what the future has in store for you! I hope you'll visit Sweden when this pandemic is finally over. I've listened to a lot of Metal over the past two decades, and when I first heard Erra a couple of years back they were truly a breath of fresh air for me. They have such a unique and technical, but yet hooky, accessible style to their songs. Their songwriting is nothing short of masterful and the overall musicianship is equally mind-blowing. These guys fully deserve the success that they have achieved with the latest album, and I hope that success continues to grow in the future.
