Thanks for this video, Daniel! I have this unit and got an E1 error the other day. I was scratching my head, though, because after removing the filter I didn't see any debris in the lower drain chamber. I even used a paper towel to sop up all the standing water and still didnt' see anything. What wound up being the culprit was the fine mesh filter, which sits in the middle of the main filter, had gotten all gunked up and wasn't allowing enough water to drain so that it could be recirculated into the machine during the wash cycles. I took a handful of q-tips and cleaned the screens on the mesh filter as best as I could, rinsed the filter in the sink, and reinstalled it. Then, I left the dish rack out of the washer and ran it on the rapid cycle completely empty. Once the wash cycle started, I opened the lid (carefully) and dumped in a cup of white vinegar. After the first drain cycle, I opened the lid and dumped in another cup of vinegar. I did not do this for the 3rd rinse cycle, just let it run. After I pulled the filter again and it was pristine. Any remaining gunk I couldn't get with the q-tips earlier was gone, and it generally just smelled better inside the unit as well. I'll probably do this once every few months now since we love this unit and use it quite a bit. Hope someone sees this comment and gets the help they need! I saw a lot of angry Amazon reviews about the E1 error...
Thanks for the tip. Just got this error code the other day. A quick summary is to take the bottom filter up, unscrew the two Philips head screws and remove the clog.
In my case, it's a mini dishwasher Klarstein. Same problem, the option with descaler into the intake hole for 14 hours worked out 100%. In my case it was a really small descaler amount that went into there, maybe 50 ml, I even thought it wouldn't help at all but when I tried in the morning it worked. THANK YOU Dave Matthews and Carrie Dobmeier for the info that works. :-)
You are AWESOME i got the E1 error and mine started working just fine when i unplugged the washer and tipped ALL of the water out then started over with a batch of water as soon as the full beep sounded i stopped works like a charm now..one happy Chica here ^_^
Thanks Daniel, nice of you to let us know. I haven’t had any issues so far so good. This little beauty was featured on QVC November and December. It seem to have become quite popular. Thx again!
That's great Jan! And I had no idea! Super cool! I wish there was help out there in case of any issues but since there's not currently, I've decided to try and give it my best shot to help anyone with issues and be tech support if possible lol God bless!
Thanks for this video. I had the error code with my brand new dishwasher. We are camping and it's our first trip with it and 4th use with it and I was like wtf. Thanks again 😀
Mine is a Comfee countertop dishwasher, looks the same as yours, except for the brand name. Error E1 came up repeatedly after the second time when we ran it. *** THANK YOU to the person who mentioned filling it up with HOT WATER. *** Whatever the plug was, it resolved the issue! E1 disappeared and a full wash cycle was completed. So filling it up with HOT WATER it is from now on!
To all of those who recommended using hot water and keep trying for several times, Thank You!!!! We tried the method in the video but there was nothing clogged down there. Hot Water in and keep trying for several cycles worked !! So many white gunk pieces then came out.
Glad I found this ...I eneded up taking a plunger to it because I couldn't see anything obstrucitng it .When I did after a few plunges , a little clear piece of plastic came out, that was clogging it
Great heads up! Mine comes in a week! Thank you for all of your videos I chose to buy the Faberware mostly because YOU explained the troubleshooting so I felt more confident if I did to happen to have any problems. Thank you!
In my case the cause of the "E1" error was actually the filling up of the machine rather than its drainage. In the video you can see a small hole towards the bottom of the left-hand-side inner wall of the machine. This is an inlet used to fill the machine with water but for me it was just "dribbling" out slowly. The E1 error seems to be triggered by the machine sensing that the fill is taking too long. ("E1 : Longer Inlet Time" as my User Guide states). So the problem in my machine was down to a clogged inlet pipe somewhere between the machine's top-mounted filler and that hole. As @Chris mentions below, this can possibly be resolved by the use of 500ml of descaler fluid, tipped in via the that top filler. Allow it to settle and do its stuff for, say, 12 hours and then try a wash cycle. It worked - and continues to work - for me! Really, this is a matter of routine Preventive Maintenance - and therefore should be mentioned in User Guides. It certainly isn't in my Guide. I can see reviews on Amazon indicating that this is a common problem, so I bet all the companies who sell (clones of) these machines are losing out big time on warranty claims and/or returns.
Question- where do you find descaler fluid? Is it the same as those wax sealed bottles sold for household dishwashers? Same problem here- was thinking of trying a combination of compressed air in the inlet hole and vinegar/ water in the tank but would try your option as well!
You just saved me a ton of money. Got mine working again with descaler (I used citric acid and vinegar - I also took compressed air and blew out the inlet hole which seemed to be the final touch that helped). Thank you!
@@toddbaltimore8644 You can make some from citric acid (also vinegar can work), amazon has them as well. I think your local hardware store should sell descaler too - my Ace does. I will say that it totally worked for me - I descaled mine with citric acid overnight and also blew out the intake hole and BAM. Water gushing out. Good luck!!
The comments and the videos helped me tremendously- I THINK what caused it for me was too big of a detergent pod (I hadn’t realized a full pod was way too much for both this little thing and as little as I use this machine, so I think it clogged…. What are you all doing for detergent/ amounts?
Gotta tell you something: I have basically this same machine, they sell it under name "Klarstein" in Europe and is Made in Germany. I have had E1 TWICE!! Both times a few desiliters vinegar straight to the water tank solved the problem. There is a hidden filter on the water input-side that gets blocked by quicklime and you need white vinegar or decalcifier (typically citric acid as powder) to make the machine to clean it. First time I had to do it twice and had to use a LOT of citric acid, there was probably a lot of limestone there, but the second time the very first attempt with white/spirit vinegar opened the blockage.
How much white vinegar do i put in? Do i put it in where the water gets poured in at the top. Yes i have the klarstein version and the water comes in slowly like you said.
E1 was solved by putting 500ml of Quick Descaler by HG with the water in the top and that solved it!! I couldn't find white vinegar at the store so we found HG Quick Descaler at Tesco for £3 for 500ml and that did it! You're so right! You know if you need to descale it when the flow of water trickles in slowly from the little hole on left, it should be pouring in nicely, almost horizontally cos of good clear pressure, so the little trickle is a sign there is limescale in the inlet water tank area which reduces the pressure of water coming in to dishwasher hence the error. Thanks for your comment as it helped me get it sorted in slightly different way but same way! :)
For anyone reading who has E1 error code. For me it was clogged water inlet on the left wall. Not even a drop of water came out of that hole, so I just took simple bike tire pump, and pushed some air in that hole. Tried to start dishwasher again, and there it was, water started comming out of it (the water was almost green, with lots of debris), and no more E1. I did it few more times with the pump, and now the water flows like it should. Hope it helps.
happened the same here. blew with a small tube on that hole, then let it run without drain filter and no salt cap. suddenly started again, and it s running in this moment. thanks people!
EDIT! I may be okay! Maybe I just needed to leave it unplugged for longer than I did the first three times. Now it is letting me start a Normal load, with no error messages. I am running a cycle with just water as you recommended in your second video, which I also watched. Whew. This machine makes me so happy. I hope it is all fixed!!! Thank you for your videos! They are both helpful AND calming. HELP! (Nah, I'm probably okay now--see Edit above. But I'm leaving my frantic message here in case it helps someone else.) I have the previous Farberware model, which doesn't have the LED messages, so my Heavy light started to flash, along with a beeping. I looked it up in my booklet, and it seems to be the same error: Drain or element. That isn't very helpful, but I unscrewed the drains and everything seemed fine. It was the first time I had used liquid soap instead of powder, and I thought maybe something registered as clogged because there was too much suds. (?) So I removed the suds. I think it should work, but when I plug it back in, the error message is still keeping it from working. Any idea how I can clear the message? I also looked underneath in case something was stuck on the final way out, but I couldn't see anything. I am so sad. I have only had it for a few days and I am already in love with it, and I'm so sad the error flashing doesn't clear. Did yours work fine as soon as you plugged it back in?
Hi Daniel, greetings from Sonora, Mexico....I have that same machine and E1 appears...the water inlet is free, the compartment fills up with a lot of water, but when the washing should start, E1 appears and stops, I have the slightest suspicion that it is the recirculation pump...Or could it also be the water lines clogged by the calcium in the water?... do you have more information about this problem? Thank you.
Hello, I just wanted to know if there was other troubleshooting solutions than those we could find on the manual or online. My dishwasher does not display any error message but starts by filling up with water and then the timer starts to count down but nothing is spinning. It has worked perfectly for 1,5 years but now is not working anymore. I tried to force drain multiple times and to clean the filter and look for obstruction under the filter but nothing seems wrong. I suspect a faulty pump. Is there any way to repair it? Thanks for the help. Tom
Great and I don’t have time to wait 12 hours LMAO that’s my issue right now so that’s great. My regular dishwasher is broken now. My mini dishwasher is broken and then I get to hand wash dishes for the next four hours.
I’m having the same issue. My regular dishwasher is broken so I got one off Craigslist until the repair person can come. Without fail, E1 right away. *price is right losing horn*
Hi, Daniel! So happy to find your video, I have the same problem, but I’ve just bought my dishwasher and Error 1 pops up on first use, so nothing could stuck there, but the machine doesn’t start a working cycle, it is just beeping and showing this Error 1 info on the screen :(
@@hollybrink712 haha. Mine worked for 1 year before I stored it and he never come back. Pretty sure I will unlock something but I need to find out what's the issue. If I got something, I keep you in touch.
If u use well or city, check your water inlet filters on back of the machine also, Mines rca showing e1 with a faucet light I let issue and/or drain issue, checked the drain issue like u did got that fixed now off to water inlet, reason y I said check filter is cuz iron and calcium buildup, does the same to washers which is annoying but doable
@@StephenSteinbacher tilt it left and right a few times and dry up all the excess water underneath it and that usually sorts it, that's pretty quick solution for e4. E1 was solved by putting 500ml of Quick Descaler by HG with the water in the top and that solved it!! That solution came out of another comment here that said to use white vinegar (chemical not cooking type) and when i couldn't find white vinegar at the store we found HG Quick Descaler for £3 for 500ml and that did it! You know if you need to descale it when the flow of water trickles in slowly from the little hole on left, it should be pouring in almost horizontally, so the little trickle is a sign there is limescale in the inlet water tank area which reduces the pressure of water coming in to dishwasher. @@chriscoopr Many thanks, Chris! The descaler approached resolved my "E1" error too. I guess over time the pipework in the machine gets clogged up with limescale and/or other "gunk". I have contacted the manufacturer to suggest that they include this as an important Preventive Maintenance measure in the Instruction Manual.
I have this same model. It is giving the E1 error code, but it's draining just fine (if I add water to the bottom it pumps it right out when I hit start) but it doesn't appear to be pulling any water from the reservoir. I usually don't mind troubleshooting something like this but the fact that you have to dump and refill 5 liters every time is crazyyy
Try the descaling tip Dave Matthews mentioned here the comments as well. I also took some compressed air and blew out the intake hole. Working again after non-stop E1 errors.
Do you know how to fix a e3 code???? I just got mine and after the first normal cycle it game me e3 code at the end.... haven't heard great reviews of the communication skills of their people... so if I can fix it myself even better.
I have a E1 code tonight while dishwasher is trying to fill with water. Its not filling no water coming into the tub. Not sure why! I havent used it in a long time
I have the E1 error code right at the beginning of the cycle. I filled it manually with water no robl, but when I turned it on no water entered the machine and I got the error. I moved a week ago and I’m not positive if the movers left the machine upright the whole time. I also can’t get it to drain.
Try the descaling tip Dave Matthews mentioned here the comments as well. I also took some compressed air and blew out the intake hole. Working again after non-stop E1 errors.
We have a similar dishwasher from Bomann (though it's probably all from the same factory with slightly different design on the door) and our start/pause button won't work anymore :( do you have any idea how to fix this kind of touch button? We would be really greatful!!!
I had the same issue. You have to disassemble it partially, to remove the front door. No need to unscrew the screws on the bottom, just undo plastic clips inside the hinge mechanism and you will find 4 screws over there. Then completely disassemble the door - you need to get to the front PCB. The source issue is that there's water between touch sensors and front door body. You have to remove all the water, all the old silicone sealant and then apply a lot of new sealant. Then it works like a charm.... well, until E1 I got now :)
Can anyone tell me from which hole the water gets in the machine when you start it? Mine shows E1 but it drains perfectly. Watertank is full but the machine doesn’t fill with water :(
no luck with this crappy thing. i tried to blow some air into the hole where the water gets into the machine and it worked for some times. but still same problem now: water flow is to slow an i get E1 :(
@@technowatcher123 Try using some descaling solution. I used that overnight and also blew out the intake hole like you did and now it's working fully again after tons of E1 errors.
Hi Daniel, happy new year to you! Thank you for keeping us up to date with the dishwasher. I will get one too this month. I just hate doing the dishes by hand and furthermore I suffer from chronic pain and some days I just don't have the strength to wash the dishes. Then everything stacks up in the sink and I have to spend an hour to tidy up the kitchen. In my opinion your videos are the most in depth and informative regarding the dishwasher. Best wishes from Germany!
Wow! Such an incredible comment Vanessa! Thank you so much for those kind words! It’s my attitude and patience that don’t work for me. For some reason, doing the dishes makes me seriously upset after minimal time. This dishwasher is an answer to my prayers because I refuse to do them myself and I can’t imagine forcing my new wife to do them. So we are rescued haha I really hope to keep putting out these videos to help folks through the ins and outs of this dishwasher, since there’s no quality videos out there, last I looked! God bless my friend! 😎
@@keltonlepak7029 @krishauna flagg have you tried the descaling tips further down in the comments? I also took compressed air and blew out the intake hole. Mine is now working again.
I am not sure if this particular model uses rinsing aid at all. I have the same machine sold as "Klarstein" and it is the same machine, only the front panel differs a little bit and it has a tank for salt, which it used as rinsing aid.
I just buyed same machine But used not new. First 2 days it worked perfectly But after that it showing the same error Again and Again. So frustrsted 😒😭
Dude, read my comment about E1 under this same video. I have been able to remove E1 twice with vinegar or citric acid (coffee machine cleaner) There is a filter inside the machine, you cannot see it or get to it. And it gets blocked by quicklime and it causes E1. You can tell if that is your problem while watching the machine when starting it: If the water does not _spray_ inside it, but comes very slowly in, your problem is that filter and vinegar helps.
