@@Herman-ix7tv from reaction the conclusion can be done that either you don’t follow up the music and singers of AZERBAIJAN at all or you are soooo jealous 😂😂Calm down guy)
Elnur is an amazing vocalist who can sing both opera, jazz, and pop. He won The Voice Turkey in 2014. The blind audition is just worth watching, it was incredible. Azerbaijani Timberlake, but he sounds better live. Two interesting facts: He is the only singer from Azerbaijan who was on ESC twice, at Azerbaijan's very first entry in 2008 in a duet, and in 2015 as a solo artist. He was also collaborating with Dihaj on their new album.
Elnur killed it! The “wolves” were a bit of a weird part of the performance, but they worked so well. It’s definitely one of my favorite Azeri entries.
He actually represented Azerbaijan on their debut in 2008 together with Samir, singing Day After Day They came 8th place :) You should definitely check it out, it was even more impressive, trust me, I don't want to spoil it :P
Elnur was also part of the duo that represented Azerbaijan in its first year of competing, in 2008 :) Definitely a memorable psrformance, he played the good angel with some hilariously oversized angel wings, whilst Samir played the devil in a 'singing battle' between good and evil 😂
One of the best male vocals ever on the Eurovision stage, he won The Voice Turkey, and had already don Eurovision 2008, in which he showed his range even more, maybe you should do an instant reaction to Azerbaijan 2008 you won’t regret it! I think it has the highest note done by a male
"The hour between night and dawn. The hour when most people die, when sleep is deepest, when nightmares are most real. It is the hour when the sleepless are haunted by their deepest fears, when ghost and demons are most powerful, the hour of the wolf is also the hour when most children are born." Ingmar Bergman's
I have been soooo WAITING for your reaction to this one!!! Elnur is absolutely amazing, but unfortunately, I can't say this was his best performance. I highly recommend looking him up and listening to some of his other ones. I can, however, say that he most definitely made Azerbaijan proud :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh, and about the title... Hour Of the Wolf is said to be "the hour between night and dawn. The hour when most people die, when sleep is deepest, when nightmares are most real. It is the hour when the sleepless are haunted by their deepest fears, when ghost and demons are most powerful..." Connects with the lyrics of the song ;)
Tbh, before ESC 2015, this was my 2nd favorite after Russia. The staging was kinda weird but the studio cut is soooooo good. My top 5 songs that year were Russia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Albania, and Iceland.
He won Turkish version of ''The Voice'' and you can clearly see why! This was his second try in Eurovision. He represented Azerbaijan in 2008 in Belgrade along side Samir with song ''Day After Day''.
Unfortunatelly it was ruined by the stafing in the final, though the semi-final performance was quite good, but it in the final it was a huge mess with the smoke
Elnur performed once more, a couple of years before that (I mentioned in one of my comments you should react to ELNUR AND SAMIR'S song DAY AFTER DAY)...I liked him more in that performance before because it was much more unique plus he showed how high his voice can go(and it can go very high) 😁
This song was written by the Swedes Sandra Bjurman, Nicklas Lif, Lina Hansson and German Nicolas Rebscher. Nicklas Lif is also one of the backing vocalists. Sandra Bjurman has co-written a lot of Azerbaijan's Eurovison entries (2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018). The choreographer, Amra Succi, is also Swedish. She choreographed Loreens winning act in 2012.
+1. Just to have a full quality it's better to use semi final, becquse in the final it was some malfunction with the smoke machine or some sort of that
His second attempt at Eurovision. His first solo attempt also. In 2014 he won the Voice Turkish edition, he was very popular at Turkey and Azerbaijan at that year.
In the medieval times they use to put names to certain hours like hour of the wolf, hour of the lion, hour of the raiven, hour of the wolf is the time when you have deepest dreams or nightmares
The light is good, Jake. The real light is you... Amazing Song and voice. We have similar taste for music. Goosebumps all over the song... I like your t-shirt😉❤✌
Elnur has a very unique voice! He also was a part of a duo in 2008 where he was playing an angel and the other guy was a demon. They have stunning performance!!! So here's my advice... REACT TO Elnur & Samir - Day After Day (Azerbaijan) 2008
YAY I do remember this one & I loved it , although I've heard him sing it better :-) Wait until you get to Italy - one word - EPIC. They had the whole stadium screaming for them.
Azerbaijan is usually good in Eurovision, you have some years left with this country that made their entrance a few years ago. I wonder how your face looks like at THAT entry! Say no more. This song from 2015 is a bit medicore live. I liked the studio version better! Then I thought it would end somewhere top 5....
It’s weird how this song ended up in 12th place when it barely qualified and wouldn’t have qualified under the current voting system. This is actually my least favorite entry from Azerbaijan, not that I think it’s bad by any means, just sort of meh. I feel like the song should be longer. The key change comes in way too quickly and I also don’t like the dancers. His voice is great though!
All the votes were going in one direction, Serbia finished in 10th with 53 points. As a result the countries that had allies could rely on their points to somewhat make up the difference.
I liked this one :) Although I like the next 11 songs even more :) Will you do 2014 the same way like '16 & '15? If not, definitely react to Hungary 2014! Love your reactions :)
Azerbaijan singers make high notes like it's piece of cake. But just useless singers are on television. Unfortunately.Real talents are hidden in corners.
This is SO simple to summarize.......great song, strong vocal, but please..........those dancers destroyed this entry......they are so totally distracting, to the point that they are all you can see.....dancers should compliment a performance and not overtake one and IMO this overtakes.......
Georgia is amazing!! Nina is amazing! Can't wait for your reaction. React to the semi-final performance cause in the final, the smoke machine malfunctioned and so the stage was the not the best.
What does it have to do with the wolf? lol...You scare me, Jake and all the people. Watch the state of the art of arthouse cinematography, and Bergman, not just pop Hollywood trash, and you will know what "the hour of the wolf" expression means!!! He sings 'no I won't sleep tonight. If tomorrow comes I'll lose my mind...I can hear them coming(fears, probably). So the title is very logical. And I have not heard the studio cut, but people saying his vocals were not THAT good...ehm...in this concrete case, this sounds kind of lame, because he sounded incredible! Apart from opera performances, I don't know if I have seen a vocalist like that on the ESC. The song was kind of OK. Could have been better. But the singer is very talented.
Keira.Samons I agree! He sounded amazing! It is hard to imagine how is it possible for him to do even better!... BUT I watched some of his other performances, and I find that some of them are even better than this. I watched his interpretation of "Sole Mio" at the Turkish "Voice" and enjoyed it A LOT! :)
you notice a pattern that I’m not a fan of their entries, especially after they won in 2011. 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2017 were amazing. This song is just way overrated by the fandom **coughcoughWiwibloggscoughcough** and the dancers remind me of Russia 2018. Sheesh! Outside of the top 10 with the better of the Warriors, Georgia. You’ll learn a new word after watching that!
Hi Jake. I see you're reacting to the 2015 songs right now. I want to ask you one favor. Once you finish with 2015, I'd love you to react to Austria 2011 (Nadine Beiler - The secret is love), wich, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated songs in eurovision ever. I'd like you to react to that song in one of your videos. See you, and a big hug from Spain :33
Personally, I didn't get the hype behind this song, and I felt the performance was overstaged. If you liked him, check out "Day After Day" (ESC 2008). His voice is turnt up to 11, and the performance is even more eccentric.
