For me this was the best entry Italy has ever sent to Eurovision. As one of the people in the comments said: the whole Europe had goosebumps while listening to this performance.

At the end of the song, Graham Norton, the commentator for BBC, said the guys were literally taking the roof off the arena. Can you see the other singers in the groom shouting and clapping their hands? This is recognition of QUA-LI-TY from your peers!! What a song!! What a performance!! EPIC!! MAJESTIC!! I only hope one day, one year, Il Volo will take the opportunity to participate again in SanRemo and be back at Eurovision for a second, deserved, try to win!
Paolino Paperino True, but the fact is... the week of ESC in Israel (14-18 May) they will also perform in Japan for their new album. The evening of May 18th they perform in Bunkamura. So I think, if they’ll win San Remo this year, they will not go to Israel this year.
Il Volo was the televoters' No.1!!!! They were the real winners!!!! Juries freaking put them at 6th place!!! Il Volo started out very very young and were in this singing competition where they entered individually but one of the judges thought to put them together and they formed Il Volo. And they are VERY POPULAR in Latin America and in Europe and pretty much everywhere around the world!!!
No, they're not the real winners. To be the winner you have to do well on both televote and jury vote. They didn't. They did badly on their jury performance, and juries generally don't like opera. I personally thought, and still think, it's very overrated.
Gianluca (on the left) is a lyric baritone while Ignazio (center) and Piero (on the right) are two tenors, respectively lyric and spinto. Losing that year because of the jury felt so weird. It almost felt like a plot against Italy. I know of course that everyone's taste is different but I could never understand why this hasn't been appreciated by the jury. They should have won. It still hurts me 🙈
This was my winner and in my top 5 favorite Eurovision songs ever. Wooow what a masterpiece!! My mother doesn't like Eurovision, but ever since I showed her this song, she hasn't stopped playing it.

2015. A crazy year in Eurovision. So many amazing entries and this in the end was public favourite and by such a big margin!!! Any other year it would have PROBABLY won lol.
And now imagine this with a live orchestra 😍 I remember they were singing in 26th place and remember my parents and I almost crying after watching this masterpiece. I totally forgot about all the other amazing acts after watching this. So obviously we picked up the phone and voted for them.
The telephone vote by the public went to Italy by a record number! Italy received 366 votes, Russia 286 and Sweden 279. The fixed jury votes reversed this result and made Sweden the winners, Russia second and Italy third. The public pays to vote by telephone; the juries are paid to support their favoured act. Jury members cannot remember the last time they actually bought a recording or paid for a download. No one can remember the winning song. Italy's "Grande Amore" by Il Volo, has been viewed hundreds of millions of times on the many versions on RU-vid. The official video has 180 million views; the official ESC video has 11 million - to mention only two versions. Even the Spanish version has over 31 million views.

Il Volo got 366 points from the televoters and that is a like an 80-point difference from Russia and an 87-point difference from Sweden. That is quite a gap!!
I’m so used to the full version of this song that listening to the 3 minute version again is weird. Anyway, I was rooting so hard for these guys to win and was so upset when I found out that they won the televoting by such a huge margin but lost because juries always love Sweden too much. I still consider them the real winners of 2015.
As a Swede I probably like Sweden too much. Hell, I loved our song an performance. But this song... I mean come on! It was truly a winner. Sounded a lot worse in this short format though, I'll admit.
Jake, these three were originally on their own and one of the managers suggested they sing together and Il Volo was born and it was the best suggestion ever made.
It was sooooooooo good, my heart still hurts that they didn't won, they deserved it SO much. You should watch also the official video for "Grande Amore", it explains the meaning of the song.

2015 is, in my opinion, the best Eurovision to date .. so many good songs, amazing singers and that it was held in my homecountry is just a massive plus ☺️
This is the only song that has remained on my playlist till today... I never add eurovision songs to my playlists because usually they are kind of boring , including my country Albania... they are this bubbly pop that never sticks through time.. but this song is amazing, the voices , the music, the lyrics... Bravo Italia! Ti amoo! also, now i have 3 songs of Eurovision on my playlist now: Grande Amore , Non mi avete fatto niente (italy 2018), and Mall by Eugent Bushpepa, the last 2 are from 2018... Italy has an amazing language, so melodical and strong and beautiful !
I'm Swedish and really liked our song, but... this was far and away my favorite song that year and honestly in the contest ever. I started listening to it long before the contest even took place, and still come back to it. Very happy for Måns (it was also a good winner any given year), but anything but this song winning just doesn't sit right with me.
This song still gives me goosebumps. They deserved first place if not second. I love Mans but this was stronger in every category. It's really sad to see that juries, again, did not appreciate this masterpiece. Keep the videos coming!
Goose bumps all over my body every time that build up to the chorus starts and then when the chorus explodes vocally, OMG I'm done! If anyone was robbed, Italy in 2015 was robbed. This was the song PEOPLE OF EUROPE chose as its winner! Italy 2015 = no.1
This was the first time in ESC history that the winner didn't win the televote. And their official music video was the most viewed in ESC history until Francesco Gabbani swooped in and smashed it. Personally, I don't get the hype behind it even though I love the song. But the Top 3 were strong in their own ways. Who cares who wins as long as we enjoyed the show.
They were my winners for sure. And I still listen to this. Which is so rare, with eurovision winners, to actually have them on music devices afterwards.
Thats the first time i would say: i LOVED it. Their voices are amazing and powerful. Goosebumps.. I didnt undetstand a word in italian but i didnt need to. Those singers' gestures and appearance were speaking too.
I have to say, although Norway was my favourite from 2015, this REALLY should have been the winner!!.....it won the televote (wasn't even close).....who would have it wouldn't be jury bait...it should have been.......great vocalists, moving melody, great stage prescence and beautiful background imagery......Forza Italia!!!👍👍
This is a group of very very young people... they became known in Italy when they partecipated to a kids talent show, so they were still boys. When this song came out, it kind of became 'a hit'. Of course they are loved and respected, but they are not so hugely famous: even though we have a strong tradition as far as opera, lirica and hybrids with pop music are concerned (just think of one of our precious gems, Luciano Pavarotti), they are much more famous abroad, where these kinds of music and 'group' are more appreciated. They tour around the whole world, and I am very happy for them, because I think it takes not only talent to sing like that, but also courage to stand for a genre that is, unfortunately, more of a niche. In 2015 my personal winner was Måns, or alternatively Loic, but I really hoped they could place 2! At the end, they've been our best shot to win the whole thing since 1991, so 'bravi ragazzi, daje tutta'! (Maybe another time I'll say why I think we could never win in 2015 or why we will never win anytime soon, but that's another story!)
You said that the last time before 2015 you had a chance of winning was in 1991, both years Sweden won therefore it must mean that if Italy sends good songs Sweden will win ;)

If i could change one winner of the Eurovision history, then 2015 is the year. Il Volo was the real winner of 2015, i don't know what the hell was wrong with the juries. But this was probably the reason the voting system changed in 2016.
😍😍😍 This still leaves up to debate on scoring because they won the televote. But in the end, they came out as winners anyway because they got more exposure in Europe. They’re already are known in the US and Latin America. The Spanish version is just as good and sometimes I would accidentally switch to the Italian lyrics because they’re so close. Speaking of that, you should react to the music video for “Grande Amore”. Not only because you will hear the entire song (not the shortened Eurovision version), but the video is that good. Glad the 2015 journey was worth it! Can’t wait for the next one. 2014 perhaps?
Fantastic song, goose-bumps... Each male vocalist, in his own right, has an amazing voice. IT blows me away every time I watch it. All the top 3 songs were worthy of winning IMHO; it feels like it was a close year but I'm not sure if it was...
I wish they would of won. I heard them in person march 2020 in concert and I could feel it all over my body. One thing is to listen in RU-vid or Iphone and another in person. I would of given them first place.

It was the clear number one in the televote. It got like 366 points and had such a huge differents compared to the runner up. However, jury's killed it and made Sweden win....
