@@skywarp1 What not Apocalypse Now? - Actually Howarth was much better at this type of music, even though I love Shirley Walker. (Zittrer was also better at Black Christmas)
Snake Plissken: "Got a smoke?" Malloy: "The United States is a no-smoking nation. No smoking, no drinking, no drugs. No women - unless of course you're married. No guns, no foul language... no red meat." Snake Plissken: [sarcastic] "Land of the free."
It's funny how John Carpenter was making fun of christian conservatives and their censorship but now it's regressive liberals getting out of control with their censorship these days. I wonder how John feels about them.
now leftists are on the " banning wagon" in America - No meat- No vaping - No gender labels - No internal combustion engines - No borders, but the same result is occuring in L.A. - a post apocalyptic nightmare of homless camps and medeval disease ruled by a steady stream of foreign migrants from the south
I went to see it in the cinema on the day it came out in 1996, and I wasn't expecting the opening music to be the same. Hairs rose on my neck...Escape From New York Reprise
Dustin Martin escape from earth was going to be the next one, even had a partly scripted treatment, unfortunately escape from LA was a bomb at the box office and it never got off the ground, I think we need a series of games featuring the locations they mention, namely, Leningrad, Cleveland and finally earth. metal gear solid has had its time, now we need the man who inspired it all!
I don't give a damn what other people say, I love the shit out of this movie, New York is by far a superior movie, but I'm a sucker for cheesy as hell action flicks
Despite the bad effects and derivative storyline this film still has one of my most favorite movie scenes of all time, Snake winning the basket ball game.
I actually like this version of the theme better than the original. It just captures that wild west, lawless vibe the Escape movies were going for. You can especially hear that in Plisken's theme in Escape from LA.
Libwar, if the digital world got shut off your dumb ass wouldnt have any online comments sections like this one to bitch in anymore and you wouldnt know what to do with your time. So shut the hell up troll. Lol
The basic plot for Metal Gear games also somewhat follow the Escape films. A lone rogue/renegade operative is sent to defuse a threat at a particular location but once he gets there things are not exactly as what they seem.
Agreed. If New York was more brooding and built a better atmosphere with it's theme, L.A just gets right into the action with it's theme and rocks out to the badassness that is Snake Plissken.
Snake by a country mile! Nothing against Riddick as a badass character, but there is no getting around the fact that his first name is Dick and his last name ends in dick...he's bookended by dicks ffs!
Kurt is waaay too old, so he will be big boss from mgs 4. which means he will talk to solid snake for like 2 mins then die from FOXDIE...lol imagine that
The United States is a no-smoking nation. No smoking, no drinking, no drugs. No women...unless of course you're married. No guns, no foul language... no red meat.
Hehe Bruce Campbell was in it for like 2 minutes and under prosthetics. I was really hoping he give us more than just being the Surgeon General of Beverly Hills.
This rendition of the Escape From New York Theme for LA was in my opinon better than the New York one itself, due to it sounding like a rock song and having more than a synthesizer and bass drum
The ZombieMan Jersey is a good idea but I think Snake trying to Escape From Texas is an even better one! I mean it's a gun-loving state run by corrupt greedy morons like Rick Perry & The Bush family & enormously-arrogant megalomaniacs like in particular that self-loathing Ted Cruz!!! It's perfect for a Snake Pliskin flick!!! A great state for sure but one governed by corruption!!!
Many thanx Jack for uploading this great Escape from L.A.´s theme!...This is my very first time to see and hear this excellent material...I´ve spent a very entertained 2:09 minutes...GREAT CONTRIBUTION...Greetings from Santiago, CHILE. PS: Please continue uploading good movie themes like this one that I will listen them attentively here in South America.
My favourite Snake Plisskin film is "Escape from LA" is so good & so underrated & underappreciated!!!! But i love this film & it's new version of the Classic score by the greatest director of all time in my opinion "Carpenter"
Big John is the Man not only in movies but in music. This man is a genius so underrated in his own country. My little tribute to this great song if you have 3 minutes to spare : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B1Br69iC8gw.html

The only good thing that New york had was it starred Issac Hayes, Ernest Borgnine, Lee Van Cleef and Kurt Russel, LA had Buscemi, Pam Grier, Peter Fonda, Bruce Campbell, and russell, but I think if they did re do this film aswell as NY, I would want to see them as a double feature back to back but have the originals first, basically a marathon, but have Escape from LA and NY (remakes) done afterwards and well I think Id also want to be Snake Plissken if they remade the films
6M$ budget for Escape from New York : 25.2$ at Box Office 50M$ budget for Escape from L.A. : 25.4$ at Box Office Haha Also, get ready for a remake : "On January 13, 2015, 20th Century Fox won the bid for the film rights of the remake with Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman's The Picture Company will produce."
Kurt needs to escape from chicago. I don't care if he uses a walker with tennis balls on the pegs. He is going to escape chicago and look awesome doing it!
How cool would it have been if Bruce Campbell in stead of being a surgeon was really a total bad ass in his evil dead clothes and packing the boomstick being the guardian of Beverly Hills
This version sounds way better than the original one from Escape From New York. This one has that bit of Old-Western vibe with a bit of some hardcore touch, since the sequel takes place in the West Coast. Best theme ever out of both movies. The one thing I do like about this movie is the outfit that Kurt Russell wore, especially that long trench coat.
Xulius Caesar Really? Are you by any chance planning to sell it though? Cause I want one like that, but if not then it's ok. I understand if you like your coat.
+Xulius Caesar Ah ok, no problema. Like I said, it's ok if you like the coat. But I appreciate your info about it. Do you by any chance know where I can order one like yours or like Snake Plissken's Coat?
best thing to do is keep your eyes open at thrift shops and such, otherwise they are really expensive. I paid 50 for mine at a thrift shop. It's not fake leather though, its real and it weighs a lot. I had been looking for a trench like snake had in LA for about 3 years before I happened accross this one. (I already had a leather jacket not identical to, but close enough in similarity to the one he had in NY). Happy hunting, my friend.
