Man, I absolutely loved this movie. Yeah... I know... it had Kurt Russell surfing a tsunami wave chasing Steve Buscemi in a car... ... but it had Kurt Russell surfing a tsunami wave chasing Steve Buscemi in a car!
I was like 14 when i first saw this movie and i inmediatly wanted this theme song, 9 years later, someone finally uploaded it and EVEN extended it, thank you, man. c:
I'm so amazed, I tried to get this song all my youth, but failed back in the 90s... From trying to record it from the movie with my dad's voice recorder to showing this tune to my guitar teacher to be able to play it myself and now there it is :)
Makes me wish Metal Gear had become a big hit sooner in the America than it did. Given that Solid Snake was inspired by Snake Plissken, Kurt Russell already was able to look the part. He would have been a good Solid Snake when he was younger. I guess if they ever did it nowadays, he could be Big Boss instead, heh.
Big Boss makes more sense as he is much more Snake Plissken than Solid Snake is. Solid Snake is actually inspired by Snake Plissken and Reese from Terminator. Big Boss is clearly inspired mostly by Snake Plissken.
+Lo No i mean if you wanted to make a movie out of metal gear 1 kurt Russell is old enough to play big boss(venom snake). Then if it did well enough he could play big boss (naked snake) in the sequel. Hell I'd see those movies multiple times.
In addition to this let's remember that Kurt Russell's son Wyatt is also an actor, so perhaps in the film -despite Snake has confirmed to be Oscar Isaac we could have Kurt Russell as Big Boss and Wyatt Russell as Liquid Snake. That would be the perfect and ultimate metacasting
I would have loved to have seen Kurt Russell return one last time in John Carpenter very last movie Ghosts of Mars. I would have loved to have seen how he would have handled the Ghosts, plus he would have reprised his role as Snake Plissken. Plus he would have survived to the end as well.
Hate to break it to you but america has been like that since the 50s. Where do you think these stories got their inspiration from? They were warnings, continue down this path and bad things happen. And unlike the movies there won't be a hero to sort things out.
I second to that. It's amazing what a couple of perfectly placed musical notes (and a movie watched a thousand times in my case) can make you see, and feel.
Awesome theme and it caps off magnificently with a table flip moment (Read: Earth losing all electricity as it was the LEAST shitty option in a LIST of shitty options.)
The United States is a no-smoking nation. No smoking, no drinking, no drugs. No women - unless of course you're married. No guns, no foul language. No red meat.
