If the two little guys are in it, I never fwd past the building bits, I'm over 70 and have never seen nicer children . Obviously the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

You should ask Selma if he would make you a custom worktop for the centre aisle, maybe from a piece of wood from Lalande, I’m sure Stephanie would be delighted to do that.

It’s really coming together fast now. I just noticed that both have the boys have grown quite a bit since the first video! Dan is going to have to have a business that they can work with him in because they sure do like working with daddy! Thanks to Didier for all his help...that is a great neighbor!

We renovated here in Brittany and installed under floor electric heating, it is brilliant you wont regret it. Hope you find the worktop, going to look great.

You are going to love the under floor heating. It is really wonderful especially in kitchens and bathrooms.

Love the idea of the tree core counter! Have you heard of a live edge? It’s where they’ve kept the exterior edge of the board in it’s natural shape, just removed the bark. I think that would be amazing as well. And as for the resin idea, I have a Resin dinning room table and it’s beautiful. It looks like a River running through the middle of two boards.

Loooooving the kitchen, especially the island. You might be able to minimize cracking of a timber bench if you keep it oiled with a food grade oil. Just treat it like a giant chopping block!

Can you coat the wood in resin as it will be hygienic for wiping down and should stop the cracking from the start as it will be encased.

A single solid slab will crack and warp no matter what you put on it. A dovetail key or resin infill is the only thing they can do once the moisture in slab has long since stabilized.

I enjoyed seeing how Dan built the arches, the boys helping and talking with the friend the deer, Annalise's walk into town and the beautiful church, the neighbor helping neighbor, even the British pronunciation of aluminum, and how quickly the room is taking shape. I guess I just really enjoyed the whole video! It is such a delight to watch while drinking my morning tea. Thank you for taking the time to share with us each week!

Fantastic neighbours !!! A big job done in no time. By the time Jack and Thomas are six they will be full time helpers . I am so excited for your Christmas this year it will be wonderful to see you have your first Christmas dinner cooked in the little bakery house

Dan when doing arches you must start at both ends and finish with the keystone in the middle to lock them in. Dan you could ask Stephanie for a few boards from her stash, there is so much of it and you could do something for her in payment or cash....
