It is popular in the late 1970s but sadly it was forbidden after multiple death matches existed in the country. My grandads also practice this art secretly.

I see streagy in kali and difficulties in kung fu. I like to practice simple and effective martial arts. I haven't meet any king fu moves in tactical martial arts but I do familiar with the most effective move of kali in militery martial arts.

This art (kali) is used by my grandfathers during death matches. Sad thing is that they dont teach us this kind of art. Oh well!! Nice video anyways.

From the point of view of brotherhood & friendship this is great and I support it. however which is best for reality......Filipino Martial Arts for sure, it's combat effective and does not waste time of student who wishes to be able protect themself. you dont need to know other arts such as Kung Fu etc just incase you might face someone that does that style....that's just fantasy. You will face criminal who will be using absolute primal force and aggression, who would have selected you on physicality and chances of winning. Weapons are (can be) equalisers.

Ancient Chinese martial arts actually was emphasised and were originally started from weapons, but for many reasons it was ignored and now it focused more in empty hand. However, in sparring or Street fight, kali or Chinese sword techniques would be almost the same to one and another. After all, all human beings only got "2 arms and 2 legs".

May be an old video, but I think kali is a lot more fluid and deadly if needed. Kung fu has its place, but not if you are trying to live. My opinion obviously, and its a bit biased but its how I feel.

JAKE I don't hate you, even don't mind you having videos on youtube. Please don't take money from students pretending to be a Mertial Arts Master. COME-ON don't pass yourself off as a fourth degree black, I can tell you're not. If you are teaching Kung Fu do it, right. You owe that to your students and don't take money for teaching. Really, what you're teaching will get someone severely beaten up. I asked you questions you never answer them so obviously you don't have the credentials you say you have. On the flip side. You have one hell of a streach and apparently you're in good shape, so when you get your black belt you'll be a good teacher. My advice to you is keep learning and expose yourself to other schools and see what will work.
