Love all my Esee blades. My next will be either the Junglas 2 or another Esee 5. There is no other company I'll bet my life on when it comes to a survival blade. Not to mention just how incredibly awesome everyone is in the Esee groups.
Cool looking handle. Will have to try that on my S35VN ESEE 4 when I get it. Just don’t put your tarp upside down and set on top of it. Lol!! Thanks for sharing Dan!!
I talked with Shane Adams on one of the ESEE groups. He ask what we wanted to see in new ESEE products. I said offer the 3-4-5-6 in the oxide finish like the PR4. He said he was pushing for that and 90 degree spines on the 4HM & 6HM. I would definitely go for one in that configuration. Ah, more of my $ going to ESEE lol.
Larger ESEE's in CPM 3V would be great, and with slightly longer handles on the 3 & 4 than they currently have now (they fit my hands perfectly, but I wear a size medium glove and have shorter fingers)
Great video Dan. Any of the Esee knives I have handled have grips, that to my liking, are too thin. The tent stake is made for the rare times when you need to set up the tarp on the top of a cave etc!
Esee makes an Esee 4 with micarta scales. They should sell the sawtooth handles separate option for those who want them instead of buying the whole knife
Your tent stake doesn't look upside down to me. If I had to make wooden tent stakes I would take a double length branch and saw it in the middle at a steep angle to make a point. So with the stick that you have I would have just made the similar notch at the other end and cut the stick in half in the middle at an angle. I just ordered a Esee 4 clip point that I never knew existed. There was only one on the website here in Canada. I think it could be interesting because the sharpened clip point could be used for shaving fatwood while the knife edge for feather sticks Etc. I'm not sure but it's on the way and I shouldn get it this week or next week. Also they make a Esee 6 clip point which I also never heard of until a few days ago. They call it their tactical versions. The knife connection even has just the blank knife without scales that I saw in the USA.
@@ochocobushcraft1742 The clip point came in yesterday. Cool-looking knife. It's all black with G10 scales tactical version. The only difference is the clip point which I tried on a piece of stick and it works well for making fine shavings. That way you can save your regular knife edge. There is still a space between the jimping and the clip Point Edge where it can be filed to scrape a fire Steel. But I just bought it because it looks cool and it's different. In the end it looks kind of basic without any fancy scales like a Becker knife with the regular black handles.
