I grew up icefishing. Hadnt been seriously in about 15ish years (right around the time my wife got pregnant). My kids been at me for 2 seasons now, so we went out. He had a blast, but it was windy and cold. So we picked up the Eskimo 3i which is fantastic, but being a family who has friends, its kinda small. Its great for my son and myself, but even with just the 2 of use its a little small for those super windy/cold days where you might want/need to keep everything in the tent. Not too much room for a table, stove, heater, gear, etc. So we're looking at upgrading to the 450XD for some winter camping/fishing trips next season.

We really like ours. If you are going camping you may want to compare the 450 with the 650 to see what you would be more comfortable in. Thanks for watching.

I bought an Eskimo 3 in 2014 it's still going strong well-made not had a single problem with it.

Thanks guys. I was thinking I could get away with the 250. But with the wife and two kids and everyone else the wife invites to come hang out. I think I need to go with the 450. You’re the only video they did a side-by-side comparison I could find. Dave here in Eau Claire.

YES! You will definitely be happy with the 450. I would suggest the 450 over the 250 because you can never complain about having too much room. Let us know what you get and how you like it!

I would go 650xd if you're taking family 450 it was tight with 2 people.

Great review guys! I had a 949i to start with to try these hub style houses-loved it! The older I get and I have MS, opted for the Outbreak full door. Game changer, best thing to have for ease of setting up and taking down. for 2-3 people lot's 'o room, for weight savings I would maybe like the 250. Again, great review!

Yeah, for this coming winter I was planning to get a 949i, but now I kind of want the 450XD. It's a little more pricey, but I think it'll be worth it, since I love the no-trip door and the extra 10 square feet because I also want to use it for ice camping.

I'm waiting for one you guys to bring home an Ice Castle and not tell the wife how much it really cost and then do a review of how well it works out on the ice. Wouldn't it be great to set up camp out on the middle of the lake somewhere and then fish while you're taking a nap or playing a game of cribbage or pinochle while staying indoors in the warm comfort? You could connect the Ice Castle to a Predator 3000 and have the luxury of staying at home but out on the middle of the ice somewhere.

I mostly fish solo, on occassion with a buddy or my son when he visits. I was thinking the 250 however I'm 6'4". Enough headroom in the 250 still or should I go with the 350?

Hey love the content fellas, I’m really enjoying your channel! I am looking for a drill auger bit and looking to buy a new cordless to go along with it- can you guys do a review on that? What you’d recommend for cheap and quality

Great idea! We are on it. We highly recommend the Dewalt Hammer drill. Right now they are $148 at Blain's Farm and Fleet. You really need a hammer drill or a drill that doesn't not have the safety feature on it that shuts the drill off when it senses binding. You also need to have a drill with a minimum torque of 750 in. So make sure there is enough torque.

I use a brushed 20v Dewalt drill with a drill adapter for an old strikemaster/mora 6 in auger.had the hand auger given to me.bought the adapter for 35 dollars including shipping.it works great at least for 8-12 inches of ice.havent used in deeper yet.surprised how well the brushed drill has done.8 or 10 inch auger I would recommend a brushed drill or hammer drill

Hey guys! Thank you for the video, I’ve been torn between getting the 250 or 450, I would like to take the wife and 2 kids and also do some overnight camping by myself or possibly with a buddy, which one do you recommend for that?

We think the 450 would be your best bet. The 250 is a perfect size for Aaron and Adam together and some easy day fishing. Any more people in it? Even children, would make it pretty crowded. It’s doable but the 450 would just be much more comfortable, especially for any overnights. Thanks for checking out the video. Keep us updated in what you chose and how you like it.

I mean, we always feel like we look like a monkey humping a coconut when we set it up, but it is easily a 1-man job. As easy as a smaller hub? No. Easy enough where it’s a 3-4 minute job start to finish for 1 person? Yes.

We think a standard cot would fit....but if you are planning to camp on the ice with the 250xd it is going to be really really cramped.
