Beautifully demonstrated. Very nicely explained as well. Thank you for giving the fundamental aspects involving circles, planes altering with the body & figure 8 !! Was struggling without that critical information. Respect.
@@wmpyr Be safe over the Holidays. I've been studying FMA for 34 years, and I am an old man. Back in the early 90's I was hand picked with 12 other guys to study Transition System of the Sayoc family of Baltazar Zook Sayoc (RIP) We were chosen by one of his sons, Christopher, who was the bodyguard for ex- President Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos. I was fortunate enough to have many semi-private and private lessons on blade fighting and usage. I have learned many things about life, and myself through all these years of study, especially from the Sayoc Family. Tuhon Chris (RIP) wanted to create good fighters, good teachers, and good business people, so that we could be well rounded. I am now a Manong (uncle). You are one of my Guros. A Guro is a guide, an ally. The manner in which you explained this video most definitely reflects the time, the personal hardship, and dedication you have to the Art. Without folks like you, it will die. We all have something to learn from each other. Thanks much for all of your videos. I have saved over 1100 fighting videos. From time to time I remove what I consider useless. The first video I saved from you was on Balisong use, specifically "flailing." One small statement based on your experience, adds years of speculation to some old timer like myself. My knowledge base has increased exponentially. So have a safe holiday, and thanks again. Knowledge is power isn't accurate. It is only when the knowledge is applied, the fruits appear. One day, You will be the Manong. Mabuhay.
Very very good tutorials! I'm learning step by step and combining the techniques, though I'm practicing by myself, but it's satisfying for the body and also for the mind. Greetings from Italy 😊
Practice Kali In Wales United Kingdom with Impact martial Arts, Have found my stick flow and overall skills has improved drastically since ive been watching all your vids! Excellent teacher! keep it up man! :)
I am quite surprised that I had not crossed this lesson before - I have been working on the double upward flower for the last month to six weeks, at least...I am close, but simply cannot quite get past the "sticking point" that occurs with doubles sticks just before I "get it". I find that there have been multiple cultures throughout time who all do the same basic things, moving in similar fashion - this is always based on the parameters that take into account the fundamental design of the human body. One thing I find fascinating is HOW DIFFERENT the approach to learning these fundamental "joining of the triangle and circle" patterns are. At one point, I would have thought there was only "one way" to do things like this correctly. At that point, I was mistaken in regards to the overall saying which states -- "Six of one, half a dozen of the other". BTW, I immediately recognized this as an exercise that likely will have me lined out in a short time...hopefully in a month I will not be struggling to figure out why the downward angles are so easy for me, and the upward angles continue to eat my lunch. Respect - b
