Hi! I love watching your videos, they help me a lot because you have many ideas and during this virtual meetings with kinds we need to show different strategies. I have something to ask you, I'm from Peru, so my kids learn how to speak English and I want to improve that ability. Do you have any video or more ideas how I can work on speaking, specifically, giving opinions? My kiddos are second graders. Thanks! :) Diana
Thank you so much for watching my video and for your feedback. For giving opinions, I would recommend that you would come up with an activity where they have to state whether they agree or disagree with a statement. The story can have picture prompts and then they have to agree or disagree with what the character does or decides to do. You can also have them play a game of would you rather. it is a really fun game and they can give their opinion as to why they prefer one thing over another.
Hi Dr. Hemphill! I am preparing to take my career overseas teaching English. I found your channel looking for materials to help myself understand how to teach English to new learners. I have my first student already, and I have my first lesson with her this week. Your videos are so easy to follow and incredibly helpful! Thank you for providing such an invaluable opportunity through your RU-vid channel!
Hello! I am an English teacher teaching at a language academy in Indonesia and your videos have helped me a lot! Keep making educational content for teachers!
@@TheLanguageLady Teaching has been challenging for me! First of all I am not a native speaker and still make a few spoken errors when speaking, but I am expected to present perfect English in front of my students every single day, To tackle this I often plan my instructions and study the target language ahead before meeting my students
@@TheLanguageLady I often run out of ideas when teaching online classes so your website has been nothing but a wonderful resource to me. I will definitely let my teacher friends in Indonesia to check ur channel out
So useful! The Do Now is a good trick to buy me some time in the beginning of the class to arrange my stuff & get the attendance. I’m also happy that the language lady personas are back haha! They’re hilarious & I just love them! ❤️✨
I’m actually located in Brooklyn. I would appreciate if you can do a video on how to interview children to see if they need the service. They had a vacancy in my current school, so all the procedures when it comes to interview them hasn’t been done.
Hey, I'm a new subscriber, so happy that I've discovered you! I'm teaching English to kids from challenging environments with a low motivation to learn languages (or learn at all). Hope to find some engaging and interesting stuff here 😊 You are great! Greetings from Slovakia!
Hello and welcome to my channel. I find that what helps my students are incorporating games and music in order to get them motivated. I hope you enjoy the warm up and game videos. How old are your students?
@@TheLanguageLady oh, music is something they love ❤️ not sure how to incorporate it though. My students are 13 but I'm also teaching kids aged from 10 to 15.
I saw you on Daniel's live Audience Retention and thought I should say hi! It's funny how people come together through sometimes unrelated events! I am one class away from completing my ESL teaching certification and will be adding to my online content next year on that. Keep up the good work and see you online!
I'm still in college, I'm a student at Holy Family University. I'm planning on becoming an ESL high school teacher. I was an English language learner in high school.
Hello, my name is Zina and this is my 1st year teaching ESL for kindergarten students. I would love to have a sample of a typical lesson for K students
