Tbh, tanking is the most rewarding role in ESO, for me. Healing feels useless, and doing DPS about 65k seems too out of reach for me. So, when I'm not soloing, I try to tank. I've tanked aven some vet trials and did good. It just seems more intuitive and less cost-heavy or complicated than being a dedicated damage dealer.
@@FelineElaj Yh I had a DPS toon at like 600 few years ago that I lost, since then made a couple more DPS’s this my first time fcking about with Tank, just looks nuts when u see them standing toe to toe with a boss not even flinching and health not budging 😂
in the red tree you slotted "sustained by suffering" but you also have points into the one before it that reduces the time you are under negative effects. isnt that countering the buff then?
I'm CP 60, main is Orc Tank. So pretty new. I followed a tank build when starting out the game in earnest. If someone is new and is setting up a tank, just play the game and have fun. Yeah, get your sword and shield, and your heavy armor - but just play with the skills and find what you like doing. Don't worry about the build unless you really want to get into group content and even then, only worry about it when you're beyond CP160. For the majority of the game, a taunt, high health and heavy armor has been enough. DPS has been more than able to take out everything while I distract them. In my experience so far, whatever random stuff I have on my skill bar hasn't made much of a difference running stuff like normal dungeons or world bosses.
A couple of things to make your build better. Replace Volatile Armor with Balance. Balance gives you Major Resolve like Volatile Armor but it also replenishes your magicka giving you almost infinate magicka. For unlimited Stamina regen I am taking Cinder Storm with two reduced cost Jewelry Glyphs so you can spam Cinder Storm while blocking and recover stamina and heal yourself and allies. I am replacing Blockade of Frost with Bone Shield. BOF only provides a damage shield against a specific type of damage, projectiles where as when I stack Bone Shield, Igneous Shield plus the damage shield that procs every 6 seconds off the Hatchling shell set make you nearly unkillable. My damage shields can absorb over 300k per minute of damage and I have max physical and spell resistances to boot.
Thank you for this video, honestly the best video i saw about "beginner tanks" most dumb creator don't know what "beginners" want. I:E easy to get sets to get started and no Trail gear or something
a good intro to tanking video, a good pairing for rushing agony is tormentor from banished cells for ur body, with 1 skill u can not only group up everything within 10m u will also taunt all of them as well (really missed my aoe taunt from guild wars 2 until i found out about this set) until u get better at positioning and grouping it will help u out loads
Going to start my first character in eso, I am worry that if I start with a tank build I will be struggle with the content myself. Would you recommend starting with a solo build? Or a tank build?
I’m just about to get back into it myself but as a tank I never really struggled with the solo content of the game, sure some fights lasted longer than if I were to go for a pure dps build but late game tank is awesome because you have practically no queue times since nobody else wants to do it. It’s a noble profession
Fantastic video. Taught me a great deal. Rushing Agony is proving to be a real PITA to get. I managed to pick up the Imperial stuff no problem. But after 20+ runs, I have yet to get a weapon or any jewelry =/
likely needs a re-update for u35, since alot has changed... some of the abilities i might recommend for tanks who are still new and likely those looking for more options: - echoing vigor has minor resolve that increases your spell/physical resistances while also healing you and those around you...allows you to dump volatile/hardened armor; recommended to put on backbar - revealing flare (support skill line) and undo (psijic order skill line) gives you 10% and 5% damage reduction respectively.. also having a support ability slotted gives you 10% mag recovery increase; recommended both on front bar - heroic slash (1h skill line) for more quick ulti regen; recommended on front bar - meditate (psijic skill line) any more works as this is for resource regen and self heals as well; recommended on backbar - unstoppable brute (heavy armor skill line) the snare is not too bad, but this skill can be a life savor on vet content.. when your last man/woman standing and you need to rez people, this skill will allow you to rez people without getting interrupted; recommended backbar - burning embers (ardent flame skill line) this will definitely proc combustion passive, which would give you magicka every 3 secs for each enemy applied.. also gives you a nice heal over time; recommended frontbar - coagulating blood (draconic power skill line) over green dragon blood gives you a consistent strong instant heal over having to depend on your missing health.. tank club did a video comparing the 2 on which is better, and coag simply surpasses green blood; recommended backbar - draw essence (draconic power skill line) is a solid aoe damage and provides alot of magicka, depending on amount of enemies hit.. you can go from 1000 magicka to 10000 magicka in a second, depending if you hit alot of enemies; recommended backbar - cinder storm ( earthen heart skill line) provides a small aoe heal over time and slows down enemies alot.. best to use when your facetanking a mob/boss.. procs both mountain blessing(for ulti regen) and helping hands(stamina regen) passives; recommended backbar and for other tank gears i can recommend for others that maybe not too hard to acquire(emphasis on not too hard to acquire lol): - Leeching Plate provides a small aoe dot and heal over time as well. really strong heal over time the more enemies hit by the dot.. found on imperial city prison; recommended front bar - Olorime (even non-perfected works) provides 100% uptime group damage increase.. useful if a healer in the group does not provide major courage buff.. found on cloudrest, a very popular trial selection; recommended on backbar - winter's respite can provide a 100% uptime of aoe heal over time, similar mechanics to olorime.. easy to acquire coz of being an overland set for western skyrim; recommended on backbar - wretched vitality provides magicka and stamina recovery whenever you cast a major or minor buff/debuff.. can provide you 100% uptime and this is considered to be the best sustain set... craftable set on deadlands and requires only 3 traits; recommended on front bar...

Dark convergence set(u get it from pvp rewards); u can use any aoe skill like caltrops from assault skill line and pull everything. Or 2 piece Void bash set from vetershan hollows arena. U can use powerbash skill on an enemy n pull enemies in 12m towards u. All 3 sets provide similar function. Choose the one that fits ur play style.
