As I've gotten older I realized how much energy playing video games takes, never realized that as a kid. Eso has been my go to game to kick back and relax when i get off work. I never feel pressued to do shit in eso and i think thats it greatest strength. My girl has started playing and has just been exclusively fishing non stop as I feed her materials for our house in exchange for perfect roe.
My favorite MMORPG. I have over 13k hours in game. Love the Dark Brotherhood and my number 1 is Greymore. Really cool Vampire & Werewolf storyline. Endless adventures in ESO
Amazing video! I started 2 weeks ago, have been playing the game chronologically, zone by zone. The quests are great, it's a huge part of the game, and I don't think it gets talked about enough outside the ESO community how good the quests are. Also been playing Trials with a guild, and really feeling at home in this game. The community is great.
I have been playing off and on since about 4 month's after launch. Have had subscription since about 2 years after launch. Avoided ESO subscription for a couple years but succumbed when it became apparent that I wanted to experience the crafting line. Will add two things to your video. 1) The community in ESO is one of the most helpful and outgoing game population out there. When I first started and was grousing to myself (I thought) one player heard me and took the time to explain crafting system and started me on researching. While he was helping another player asked " did I hear you say you were just starting out?" and when I said yes he gave 100k gold on the spot to help with in game cost's. Every time I've been stuck on something people have been willing to help. Best community in gaming. 2) The subscription service. I started up with it primarily for the crafting bag. However, they also give you an allowance of sorts (1500 crowns per month) which you can use for houses, cosmetics etc. While you can buy crowns it's really not necessary. The biggest thing I buy with the crowns is the dlc that drops every year. So if I let my ESO sub lapse I will still keep ownership of all the content that came with the sub. And you also keep what is in the craft bag; you just can't add into it. All in all I wholeheartedly agree with you that it is very fun and in my opinion easily the best value available in an MMO. I love ESO, I have made life long memories and more importantly life long friends through this game. We all have our own lives, and although we all live in other parts of the world we are very much connected and it was all because of ESO.
Beautiful video. I too love this game so much. I play every day. My companion Isobel is amazing as a tank while I cast spells. It is so much fun. I haven't played with anyone else yet, and I am doing so much on my own I amaze myself! Thanks for sharing your love for the game. It is so spot on to how I feel. ❤
What an excellently put together video. So much information and clear enjoyment for the game. You've built a lot of hype for me to give this a go after playing only for a bit in the beta, then again for about 50h in 2021. I have one question that I'd like your input on: Is the newer content of a much higher quality and are the older zones dead? I ask because I wonder if it's more fun to go straight to the newer content, or if the old stuff is just as good and it's worth playing chronologically for the story? Cheers
It really depends on your play style. I would say I still see players in the older content from occasion, but I don't mind the occasional interaction as when I am levelling I just enjoy playing the quests! You could start with some of the newer zones (as you can basically pick wherever to level) then as you make new characters try the other zones, or just complete it on your main!
I love this game tbh, this was my first MMO I ever played because I always thought they were “nerdy” growing up but my buddy convinced me to play this one and I ended up putting 1300 hours into this game and it was kinda quick too, I really enjoyed every second of being in this game! And I recommend everyone trying it and actually giving it a chance and not thinking it’s going to be Skyrim 2.0

I am cp1720 now. At the beginning it was very hard to understand what to do in the game. I played the game first to level 40 or something, then I had a long paus becouse I lost the interrest, but my friend was still playing it and he just wrote me a message one day and said: ”Hey I have something for u, but u can only wear it at cp 160” he saved my first tank set for me in his bank, so I started playing it again but this time I started to understand things, he learn me alot of crafting, food, sets, monstersets, mytics sets, events and yeah I started to like the game and I still do. I would say that I can be one of the best tank in game right. not best but my bag is filled with everything u need to finish everything u want. I recommend to find and join a helpfull guild, becouse u need that ”kick in the ass” to get started. U can also still be a absolutely acceptable good healer/tank/damage dealer without dlc. is this game pay to win? I would say No. I sometimes looking for people knowing the mechanic rather then 120k dps. give it a try atleast.

It's enjoyable for the "TES fan". Just you can play the game like the 1000 years ago era Skyrim expansion DLC, "If you don't go outside of PVE story contents". But outdated painful combat make you bored.
just got back into it a week ago. it's a really big open world now. unlocking companions was such a game changer. if you see a wood elf sorc slow clopping around admiring the view say hi

It has been 10 years and The Tamriel map hasn't had a rework though 🤦🏻♂️ It really is something aesthetically horrible i mean look at all of those waypoints and locations covering everything making it look like you can't even see the world map unless you zoom on it a lot and it almost look like bugs on a piece of leather. They should address that issue among others and not just trying to please customers with fancy ridiculous skins to make them ignore other problems.

Even if im not the biggest fan of ESO's gameplay, theres something about the world, quests and music that just feel magical. Similar to how Skyrim also has this magic, the magic of ESO is different. But its still this elder scrolls magic that makes me want to come back and play it. Like I said I dont really enjoy the gameplay of ESO, I find the combat and stuff pretty boring but I enjoy just going trough questlines in different areas and seeing all the players that make the towns and cities feel so alive. I wish ESO has some more modern gameplay mechanics, I understand its an MMO but I wish the combat was more impactful. That wouldve probably kept me playing 24/7 lol
I would say if you just want to play through the game and enjoy the story, give it ago. However, if you're not that interested in the Elder Scrolls I understand not wanting to try out the world. There are certainly a lot more advanced single player games out there to try, I like the slight social aspect to this game and developing my character, but I will admit a lot of features do feel slightly unattainable unless you use significant time or real-world money. But if you're fine with collecting the basic armour styles, free stuff and meeting some interesting people, it could be interesting
This game is very solo friendly, i wouldnt worry too much. You can play it trough gamepass until you feel like investing into dlcs and such. Lots of areas to mess around in. I got 2700h in it on xbox
I think it’s a great place to start as a lot of people play it as a solo game with some social aspects. For example, I mostly play solo and I don’t tend to do content that requires a group. But, I love when quick groups form, we get the job done, and go our separate ways. Like today I was out working on antiquities near a dolmen. Someone was soloing it and it looked like they were struggling, soI jumped in. We finished it, I got a “thank you” and I continued on with what I was doing.
Is it? Every class feels exactly the same. So if ur a guy that likes using different classes then dont play it. If ur the guy that played warrior for the entirety of WoW then this might be fun.
Growing up on this game I can confidently say this is one of the best mmo games out there it’s up there with World of Warcraft and very unique from all the others, I’ve met really kind people in the community they are very helpful and it’s a great game for new players.
I think people are initially disappointed when they first load the game because the studio has gone overboard with non gameplay scenes in the marketing. I'm pretty sure those marketing people are not gamers at all.
yes, until the solo becomes a grind ... and those who have low pings cannot thrive or enjoy large group play or PvP. I maxed out every faction and every class until PvP was all there was left for me. I left some years ago, and despite loving the game I have not gone back just to have similar experience in expansions. Microtransations and ingame gambling ("crates") was the final straw.
If people feel like buying any eso expansion buy Clockwork city or orsinium. Both of those story's are amazing and the zones themselves are fun. Keep in mind before you buy anything play the free zones first to see how you feel about the game. And keep in mind most of the free zones came out 10 years ago so if you feel like the quality isn't up to par that's probably why.
Exactly! I think people forget that most games charge for extra content, it's just when you have a game that's been serviced for 10 years it can feel so expensive to catch up. That's why you either buy the zones you want or just pay a month here and there to play through whatever content you want. Or just play another game if you don't want to use your money on the content offered
It’s over all a great game, but the combat is so trash i always quit shortly after i start playing again. Every couple of months i redownload it and play for few days lol….but once again combat ruins it
Combat system is the best ever made but it does take math skills to learn which is hard for the uneducated. Don’t worry, if you use your brain the combat will get more enjoyable.
I started playing last week and I’m loving the game but I do feel like the guilds ain’t very beginner friendly, all of the ones that I’ve seen have lvl requirements
you get to play all the dlc's and the sub is literally given back to you in crowns and the unlimited craft bag then crown deals in the shop for eso+ members, i think that's a win win situation.
Well I think that makes sense because you pay for the parts you want. Base game? Then here's all the base game content. Expansions? But the latest expansion and get all expansion content. DLC? Buy the DLC you want but you don't need them all. Want it all? Buy a sub for a month or two and finish it. Just buy what you want and stop when it seems like too much for you.
Infact, you have actually buy it to play at all. So more correctly it's a buy to play MMO, but with a optional subscription model ontop. So not true Free to Play.
Well I mean you obviously have to buy the game, but most games require you to pay more to access additional content (expansions etc.). I think in the purchased content alone there's a lot of cosmetic options, if it bothers people too much that there are the cosmetics you have to pay for (or can acquire very slowly through events), then I suppose just don't play. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is there is a seals of endeavour system where you can complete daily challenges to slowly build them up to purchase a specific cosmetic you want from the store. My general point about this game is that unlike say WOW you can at least play the game you bought without a subscription and you can slowly get access to some paid content overtime.
@@RangerGeorge Then it's not free to play. You still have to purchase it but you can continue play without a mandatory subscription. You didn't even mention in the video that you have to still BUY the game first and then still have in bold letters "FREE-TO-PLAY". I hate to be really pedantic but as someone who's also played ESO for a very long time that "optional" subscription starts to feel pretty mandatory especially when the craft bag (a system in which you have infinite inventory for crafting materials) comes in to play. The game's monetization system is predatory. You are hindered by inventory space and the lack of new systems (i.e. mythic items, scrying, companions, scrying and more probably) if you really choose to not go the route of paying or anything except the game itself. In terms of Housing System it's great but...Free house? That's cool, let's add furnishing! But wait! You need to craft them? You'll need lots of resources. Oh sorry you don't have inventory space and key resources needed to craft simple chairs are rarer than diamonds and are expensive on the player market. Sure they offer you FREE ESO PLUS subscription once in awhile so that people can get a little taste of unburdened freedom just to remind you how hindered you are when it's gone. I know it sounds like I"m hating a lot but I do enjoy the game. At least, for the IP. But I think it should be explicitly said every time it's recommended that it's not actually free-to-play. You buy the game and there's an optional* subscription. It's just the only thing I take issue with. You can't just sweep the other stuff under the rug.

The base game (which includes the Morrowind and Imperial City DLC's) is quite often on sale for $5, which is almost nothing. That's a pretty cheap price to buy it and try it out. I wouldn't buy the base game for the normal price though, which I guess is about $20. Because the most bang for your buck for a new player who really wants to get into it is waiting for the latest Chapter Collection to go on sale sometime in the fall, winter, spring game sales. Right now it would be the Necrom Collection, soon after Gold Road releases in June it'll be the Gold Road Collection. That way for about $20 you get the base game + 10 years worth of the main Chapter DLC's (so Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, High Isle, Necrom, Gold Road).
Did you get ESO for free on epic? Game is definitely not free. The game is usually $5 but that’s because the chapters and DLC are pretty expensive and you will most likely need the ESO pass that is $15 a month just to get the unlimited crafting bag. The combat is terrible on console Almost unplayable at times and ppl are running around headless due to a bug right now that has not been fixed. It’s worth the $5 for the game but do not buy any chapters or DLC until you see the bad side and decide if you wanna make that purchase. And consoles have voice chat but PC does not it does not matter though because voice chat won’t work most of the time.
Side note: the music you chose for the beginning of this video is my favourite in ESO. BTW, those world events in Western Skyrim are called Harrowstorms.

The game is fun, but the only thing I can't stand is the combat. And since that the majority of the game I can't bring myself to play for more than a few days at a time. I've tried to like it, but it isn't for me. It nice to see it still has a decent playerbase.
Just brought it from steam deal yesterday, play a hour & i'm done. It not bad just not the same when i first play skyrim 13 year ago, maybe i'm just too old for online game.
What I would say is that even if you just want to play single player, I'd give it a shot if you like the Elder Scrolls world. Even just playing through the stories in the none-subscription version of the game is pretty fun and you can do it essentially alone other than the occasional other person doing the same quest
I'm a casual PvE solo player--and when I say "solo player," that means I won't guild. And, if you won't guild, you have problems selling your items because you don't have access to the auction vendor system (which is the worst, most awkward auction system I have ever experienced). Not having a separate trade channel is really lazy. What is good in this game is VERY good and what is bad is bad. I do subscribe because of the ease of storage/crafting. As a casual soloer, I give this game a 6 out of 10--I can see those who go in for the social aspect rating it higher.
That's a lie. Only thing I ever paid with money is the base game, two chapters and ESO+ only after already playing for years. That you decided to spend extra money on it, doesnt mean the rest also did.

No real threat of dying and no real sense of asking your fellow “adventurers” to team up. I personally don’t recommend ESO. Other games just do it better. I sum ESO up with “A game made for everyone is a game made for no one.”
Try runemaster boss in apocrypha. Did the boss today chasing a lead for scrying and was very impressed. Like you most overworld bores me but a few bosses have been good. Otherwise, it's like the other guy said. Normal dungeons and overworld is easy. Vet DLC dungeons, hardmodes, trials etc are different.@@jblauh01
I suppose quests are quite easy but that could be partially to do with having champion points, I think world quests like harrowstorms can be quite challenging at times if your group isn't particularly big

I love TES series since Morrowind, purchased ESO after playing 1.2k hours in Skyrim, played 100 hours of ESO and... quit to never come back. Got bored to death. Unbearably generic gameplay. Nothing feels consequential or epic when there are 10 players doing the exact same quest talking to the same NPCs that are spewing to them the same dialogue of how important the quest they're giving is, everything is watered down. I understand all players should have access to the same content, and they need to keep players grinding to extend play hours, and maybe that's the way MMORPGs work and this is just my personal taste, but is so boring man, so mind numbingly boring.
The main draws are Subscription: Regardless of game version all expansions are included except the latest ones DLC is also all included A crafting bag for account-wide crafting resources (it also saves having to utilise a pack mule character to store crafting materials, otherwise you can just sell the materials I suppose and buy them when you need them) Slight boost of exp Non-subscription: Still playable without a monthly fee (you can play the game you bought without a monthly cost unlike many MMOs out there) Miss out on the benefits provided, BUT still able to receive daily rewards and pursue seals of endeavour (allowing for slow collected of store-only cosmetics)
I tried to pick this up but the spells didnt feel as hard hitting and have the same impacting feel to me as say skyrim. They felt more underwhelming to me
Endeavor system added daily rewards. Now you can get in game currency that one can use in cash shop. Basically making everything free IF you play every day🔥
such a great game, just a shame with the servers and with lag. If Zos is doing so well, surely they can't build a couple more servers to help out players that aren't that close to EU and NA, eg australia.. lol
Australia is a nightmare I've heard, as is Asia. At peak times the game is basically unplayable even with a VPN (which in my experience either makes it worse or does nothing)
Might be you play on a ps4 or have bad internet… i play on ps5 with great internet and havent lagged once since new servers came, and thats even with full server. You might wanna switch out you internet! Think they rob you
Yeah it's fun if you dump money into it to get the extras. Started out with out all the micro transactions it was fun then but now it's just a store and is the reason why I quit playing this game.
Downloading this again 10 years later as was pretty rubbish and I’ve changed since then….abs I’m bored of COD which I was so into…..but it’s just boring now.
Fun for a bit as you learn about the game and then you realize that the systems are years behind and everything streamlines towards trials and pvp and cosmetics at end-game. Not unusual for a 10 year old game...the main problem is the new updates are designed solely for monetization. Sets and items are not based on lore or immersion or even gameplay but instead to get people to buy the dlc that offers a chance at these sets, which will eventually be outclassed by new dlc sets and all of this stuff takes up precious space, and a craft bag costs about $150 a year. So expect to pay more than $200 a year for copy paste updates and reused assets with different names, colors, and words. This is the most amazing collectible experience if you want to pay a couple thousand a decade on a game, at the least.
It use to be fun now is cash grab,game itself is boring asf,vet dlc dungeons insane mode unless you going to treat them as obsession and 24/7 on game, economy broken thanks to 24/7 people with no life who "farming" gold on 20 different characters just to buy crowns of a rich kid,all in all game is 🗑️ and not even talking about lag fest called PvP
@@GerlachGaming-rt3gj it's way too easy it becomes boring, the whole wrld and quests are good. But you just ran past enemies in quests and you kill them with your basic attacks.
Then you have not done anything in the late game. Tty a dungeon on vet hard mode. Run a trial with 12 players. Do a dragon hunt. Then come back and let me know how easy it is. And no, it's not because the enemies have infinite health, the game introduces new mechanics that can wipe the group if you don't work together.
@@519pigeon why should I waste my time getting to lvl 50 or higher and more money in DLC for the game to get fun. Game should be fun from the beggining; also the PvE still remains ridiculously easy there isn't a fix for that, and that is a vast majority of the game' content.
Nice Job Multi-George. I'll couple more things...If anyone played the game and got bored or felt under appreciated by ZOS, come back and give it a chance. Since Phil Spencer took away Bethesda-Zos autonomy and put them under Microsoft managers there has been a definite change in how the game feels. In this month alone they are giving away in daily sign in bonuses 10 Crown crates and a very large house in Al'ikir. I've read a report the Microsoft moved a Bethesda studio to Sow to support creation of new ESO content. There are two PvP elements that have been broken and ignored by Wow for years, although I am abconfirmed Esp pessimist for the first time in years I have hope. Hmmmm.....what else....It is possible bro solo most group content if you learn the game and build your character properly. I could go on but just thanks George for highlighting a rare game you can play with the friends you meet or solo to your hearts content.👍🙏✌🍕
I'm happy you enjoy the game too! I was quite surprised at how much fun I was having in the game after coming back. I don't feel the need to be playing all the time, I don't feel the need to be doing constant dailies and dungeons. I just like making characters, playing through certain sections that fit with my head-canon stories and then slowly developing my account over time, whilst also occasionally interacting with some nice people. The daily rewards are great and I am slowly getting some 'paid' stuff for free, but honestly the free stuff I've already got is pretty sufficient, it's just cool extra stuff.
All of the giveaways have to do with it being the 10th year anniversary. In March they gifted the Orsinium DLC, in April the Thieves Guild DLC. In May it was the big house and all the crown crates. We'll see what June has in store. IIRC biggest change from Microsoft has been the Endeavor currency system in general, because all the cosmetics have to be earnable through gameplay (by earning the Endeavors) so they can't be locked away behind the Crown Crate loot box system, otherwise a lot of countries will ban the game (rightly so).
Until they actually fix PvP I wouldn’t hold my breath that they actually care about the game other than to just milk players tbh. I still love and play the game but let’s be real, the game was supposed to start with heavy PvP aspects and ended up dropping off real quick and hasn’t been updated properly in years and the PvE is too boring most the time to be worth playing other than story.
Gotta spend $5,000 if you have been playing this game loyally and buying the expansions every year and have eso plus. Such a money grab, and the no hud footage is garbage, no one plays like that.
imo F76 > ESO.., as F76 gameplay / combat actually feels like a Fallout (4).., while ESO feels very watered down & onc sided (only specific builds).. ... that said Final Fantasy 14 > F76 > ESO ... FF14 = Skyrim = F4 (with mods) > F76 > ESO
