I’m guessing because of the rush pulls from both sides if everyone is together the first side to build ulti, negate and double rush pull wins. They seem to be doing half pulls and choosing when to stack up for their own push.
@Aoasix is completely correct. BGs have so many pulls that if you stack wrong, you just get pulled and dumped. That's why you keep the soft stack until you see the chance to push
