Had this guitar for a little while now n quite happy with it, great neck n the emgs make it a great metal guitar for sure, nice strong solid feel in playin it
Just picked that particular model up at a pawn shop heavily played finish warn down in the picking area somebody loved it . had it pleked and a sustainiac system installed in the neck position , it’s a monster 😁mine had the Seymour Duncan’s with no covers JB in bridge .
Thanks for the video. I had my '77 Les Paul Custom stolen and I've been looking at these with the ebony fretboard and Seymour Duncan pickups as an affordable replacement. Also....999! Homicide! Cheers!
I have an older ec 1000 that I wanna change the 81 85s out for something more universal (I'm looking at a350a 360a set other than that I love the necks on esp ltd ec and viper guitars. Have you done the bazooki yet? They are similar in appearance to a sitar
I wish you showed how to adjust the intonation and action. Thats what im trying to do on mine and have no idea how to do it. I want to get the strings as low as I can without string buzz. :(
Hello how often should you clean frets and also oil the board ? Just bought me my first costly guitar and would like to the care of it unless my cheap ones XD
I have this guitar and it occupies a new nut, could you help me with the measurement? I can't find any blank space in Europe, I've seen in some of your videos that you change it, what measure did you use? I know I use size 6642-00 but I only find it in black and my guitar has a blank Nut, please help me. I'm from Germany and it's hard to find a good Precision Notched Straightedge, FretRocker, Z-File Fret Crowning Files, could you help me with the purchase links, thanks and best regards from Hamburg
Hi... You can buy Stewmac tools at madinter.com in spain. Even better, buy precision tools from my friend in Greece at GMI Tools: he makes the best precision guitar tools: he is only on eBay here: www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_ssn=g.m.itools-parts&store_name=gmitoolsparts&LH_PrefLoc=2 GMI fret rocker is the best: tell him I sent you!!! You have to shape the nut to fit: it is not exact size. Victor...
Err yes! You adjust the truss rod anytime. Example: what if I remove the strings and the neck is not straight but I need to level frets? I then HAVE TO adjust the truss rod with the strings off...
Hello mate. I watch all video, thanks for the tips. I have the same exact guitar, and no matter what i do the low E and A string keep buzzing a lot. Do you have anu advice. Maybe i can send you a video? Thanks for you time mate.
Hi... Too many varialbles to know for sure: it can be many things or could just be you need to change strings! Nut slots, action at the 12th fret, relief, bridge/saddles, string gauge can all affect what happens. Without handling it, it could be anything. Victor...
@@FretFriendGWaL hello, Thanks for having the time to reply. The relief is about 0.007" at the 6th fret and string height is 0.6 at low E and 0.5 at high E. String gauge is 10-48 standard E Tuning T have the tools to check! However it still buzzing around the 6th to 10th fret. May I ask you about the measurements you used in your ec-1000 deluxe setup? Once again thanks for you time and attention. I'm from portugal otherwise Iwould ship the guitar to you! Best regards Amilcar
I do not know where you are measuring!!! The numbers you sent really mean nothing, sorry. In the UK, we deal in metric measurements (mm / millimetres) not imperial (inches / fractions). Relief seems very very low if that is 7 thousandtrhs of an inch!!! I measure relief around the 6th fret to be around 0.2mm on a regular guitar and 0.25mm n a down-tuned guitar. Gap between the top of fret 1 and the bottom of the string should be around 0.3mm on the bass side and 0.2mm on the treble side. Action at the 12th fret around 2mm on the bass side, and 1.5mm on the treble side works for me. I do not know thos measurements in inches / fractions of inches. Metric sizes are much easier. Again, I can tell you the problem with the guitar in my hands bit not by your description, sorry! I hope this helps...
@@FretFriendGWaL Hello again, and thanks for your time. Yes, the measures were your in inches. 0.007 = to 0.177mm. I raised the relief to 2mm=0.008 inches as you said, I measure with capo at the 1st fret, press the 15th fret and check at 6th fret. It that the proper way? Bridge is according your specs also. However I still have fret buzz around 7 to 11 on the lower strings... This guitar is driving me crazy
@@christopherlrasor hi mate. I managed to figure it out my self. It was all about fret work, I made my diy tool and fretleveled it. It plays great now!!!
Hey man, got the exact same gutitar used. Have suspicions the truss rod is busted but not sure. Got pics but cant find how to confirm this anywhere. Any tips or tricks? Right now im have a tough time even finding a alan key to fit. And the one i did find i cant manage to make any adjustments left or right because the thread is recessed into the hole fairly bad...sigh i think i got scammed hard.
Customer said he'd like to save the strings lol. Youre a doctor! Who takes their guitar to a talented guitar tech for a setup, but doesnt put on a new set of strings. Jeez.
The new pos ec-1000 that sweetwater sent me needed fret work and the nut was cut too deep on 1st and 2nd strings. Returned for refund. Agile al--3200 instead, much better craftsmanship, hardware at half the price.
