What's hard to understand? There are plenty of football reasons why either team could win, so pick 1-2 and go with it. However, the line is intended to encourage betting, its not really about who's gonna win.

There are two defenses there. The Chief's defense isn't really any better than the 49ers. OTOH, the 49ers is much, much better than the Chiefs who have a terrible WR corps and Kelce slowing down significantly this year. That's why ESPN predicts, based on EPA analytics, the 49ers have a 60% chance of winning.

The reasons the 49ers are the favorites in this game: San Francisco's season long power rating is the lowest it has been all season and they are still favored They have the better roster They have the pass rush to punish the Chiefs tackle issues Unlike Baltimore, they have the best RB in the league and will continue to run the ball rather than get scared out of doing so.

@@AndrewsArchives That's the conventional wisdom. Really it is much deeper than that tho. Each team's super power is their commitment to run the ball with efficiency and explosiveness. Mahomes' 263 passing prop is an overestimation of the 2023 Chiefs offense and suggests the 49ers won't possess the ball for more than 25 minutes.

The Eagles last year were better than the 49ers are this year, and the Chiefs last year were much worse than the Chiefs this year - and the Eagles still lost to Mahomes. The 49ers have no chance. Plus, the Chiefs also have arguably the best defensive coordinator of all time - the one who beat the best team in NFL history. They’re going to nullify all these schemed-up open 49ers players and put it all on Purdy and make Purdy beat them. Spoiler alert: he won’t be able to. When he has to start making good throws in tight windows on the sidelines and across the middle, it’s going to be interception city. The 49er’s defense can also be had. Chiefs 31 / 49ers 15
