Chris Berman welcomes you to a full game of the Sega CD version of ESPN Baseball Tonight, a 1994 baseball video game by Sony Imagesoft. Atlanta Braves at Los Angeles Dodgers.

I remember playing this game with wireless controllers for the SEGA. It required a sensor that would mount on the SEGA and you would have to point your controller towards it. It was the very first WIRELESS type of controller and was super futuristic for it's time! However, if you were to point the controller slightly left or right.. you'd strike out on accident! I had that happen so many times as a kid! Now I'm 40 years old! I miss being a kid in the 90s!

Wow, didn't know about the wireless Sega controllers. I had kind of weird hardware when I played this back in the day too: the Pioneer LaserActive. Laserdisc player that could also play Genesis and Sega CD games. Big honking thing.

What happens when you hit a grand slam? Does the game treat it like a regular home run? Or does it actually mention that it's a grand slam?

There is a separate voice sample that says "Grand slam." Took me about ten minutes of throwing meatballs down the middle to the computer to get it to happen today, ha. Nothing too exciting but I'll upload a link in a bit for it

The game cuts it off there unfortunately without any button press. It's frustrating for me too when the game decides "ah, you've heard enough, let's move on."

What does it say when a batter is walked? I didn't hear any walks.

It says “walk” in a short sharp tone. No walks happened in this record I think since the CPU just throws it down the middle most of the time

@@30-30Club There are other things I'm curious about this game in regards to audio in different situations. I noticed that it tells you how many runners are on base, and which bases they are on. But since we never get bases loaded in this video, does it say when the bases are loaded? And is it possible to turn a double or even a triple play? If so does it actually say that you got a double play or triple play? I also never heard any hit by pitches.
