I love how people say John Wall is overrated or is a bust when he has only played one year in the NBA. In fact he played very well for his rookie season, but people don't realize that because he is on the Wizards and that Blake Griffin stole his spotlight. Once John Wall improves his jump shot and gets better support in the near future, he can possibly become a top 5 point guard in the league.
Yea, I think Wall can be an elite PG with the right pieces around him. Hes fast, can finish at the basket, really good passer & a somewhat decent shooter. Who do you think are the best PGs in the NBA???
ur early tone sounded like u did want to make the "who's the better player" debate. then again, if u agreed with me that comparing jwall's vert to kobes is pointless then just say so o.o
..he's insanely talented w/o a doubt and i personally think he'll be the superstar he's supposed to be one day, but not unless the wizards spend some money and get some real scorers to join along. All they need is a force near the basket and a guy who can play the perimeter and everyone, in my opinion at least, will see the john wall he's "supposed" to be
he's not overhyped....if he's going to become elite, it'll come down to his attitude and will....all the skills are there to become an MVP type player.
Woah man I wasn't making this into a "who's the better player" debate. All I'm saying is Kobe never really was an elite dunker, so idk why they used him as a benchmark of a vertical jump. That's never been his forte. They might as well of compared his passing to a Ray Allen or something because his forte is obviously 3 point shooting
john wall is a PG, a somewhat scoring PG, but his bread and butter is breaking the D down for his teammates scoring opportunities to be enhanced...d-rose is a scoring PG through and through...nobody in the world knows if john wall is overrated or not, because his bread and butter abilities depend on the other guys skills at finishing and he is playing for the wizards..w/o a TRUE scoring threat with him, wall will never reach his potential, but u can't start labeling him now...
John Wall- Skills challenge Nick Young- 3pt. Contest Javale Mcgee- Dunk Contest If Dwight can win the dunk contest, there is no doubt in my mind Mcgee could.
as a uk fan living next to lexington itself i know full well of his potential. saying john wall is overrated is purely an unjustifiable statement. if all youve seen are college highlights then youre in for a rude awakening. the last player to have this much hype? lebron james... and he's pretty good with a ball from what i hear ;)

@G10cK94 If you think John Wall sucked this year, then you obviously don't know basketball. For his first season running an NBA team he did pretty good. Yeah the Wizards sucked, but they are in full blown rebuild mode. Watch out for John Wall and Jordan Crawford; they could have a backcourt that is similar, but more explosive than the Golden State Warriors with Ellis and Curry.
Did Kobe ever have that high of a vert? I never saw his head get all that close to the rim when he dunked like Vince Carter, Lebron, Gerald Green, Steve Francis, or any of those high flyers
Wall is faster than Iverson in the open court I think but Iverson is obviously the greater scorer but he didn't have the same scoring style as Kobe. His dunking ability is not comparable to Rose's I think it'd be better to compare their 'finishing ability' which Iverson definitely has the edge due to taking a higher volume of shots.
its normal for rookies to have turnovers. if you dont, you dont touch the ball enough... and why doesnt anyone mention deron williams? guess he's underrated
He can hit a behind the back pass perfectly on a target using only his peripheral vision, but he misses 4 chest passes on a target right in front of him in the all-star skills challenge...
@wade198807 Rondo is a great player and has taken his game to another level this season... but give Wall or Rose 4 years of seasoning and Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce to pass to and I find it hard to believe that Rondo is still better. Honestly, I think Wall will turn out to be the best of the three. If Rose works on his D and decision making he will become better than Rondo as well. All of them have some work to do to pass Chris Paul as he's been lights out to start the season!
Well, now I bleed blue probably a bit more than the average UK fan (although not as much as I did several years ago), so I ain't no hater. But I gotta be honest-if you stop the video, he is very obviously moving his eyes towards the target. Not a knock on John, since, when they set it up, I thought it sounded like a very difficult task relying on only peripheral vision. So, it was baloney, but I suppose they had to make a show, right?
well....people are forgetting that kobe is like 3 inches taller than the kid too...no need to jump higher...lol ^_^...but overall..kid is gonna be a legend period.
@pulle88888888 He's not cocky...he just smiles a lot and likes to have fun. You know he celebrates more on assists than on great baskets that he makes?
@snowmanO07 I said more explosive. Plus the difference between the Wizards and the Warriors will be the Wizards ability to bang inside. One more thing separating the Wizards and the Warriors is Ted Leonsis. Just go look at how he changed the Washington Caps around. New Wizards Uniforms May 10, 2011........
