It's so weird seeing names like Scarra, QT and Shiphtur back in my life again. The last time I played League was in high school and I'm now 27 lol. Makes sense that Scarra is calm under pressure lmao - I remember that man having nerves of steel from S3 league. This tourney is a blast - everyone's sweaty asf but also willing to throw hands instead of playing compact Tekken. Best of luck Phi - I'm rooting for your team!
Scarra is such a nerd, totally see him liking FGs, I love it. When I saw that Qtie picked Kuma I said "Yeah, that's fucking CHAPANYA energy right there". Their fight was also really hype, scarra pulls of the fucking comebacks.
@@swirlingtoiletsPeople been meming on scarra for a decade at this point. But it's like when random dudes off the street think they could beat the weakest player in the NBA draft. No, scarra might not have been as strong as some of his contemporaries but he's still way better at games than most people.
@@PhiDX I love your videos; very informative, entertaining, and you trim off all the fat Normally I wouldn't sub to a fighting game uploader but you've already helped me a lot with my Victor so you earned it
I'm not sure if you've already broken it down but would you be talking about your game against Wong? It'll be interesting to know what was going through your mind during the match and the high level adjustments you both made.
Ngl had to go watch the Sajam Slam vod for your own match immediately after. What a great set from the two LoL legends. Ty for the commentary and reaction.
I watched Boxbox day 1 and 2 of Tekken 8. The improvement is beyond ridiculous. No surprise though. Possibly the most mechanically gifted League player there ever was. Scarra always with the big brain plays though
Yeah people in these comments feeling bad about being lower ranked than these guys, but maybe they don't know that both were literally pro (well, semi-pro? in boxbox's case) players in the most competitive esports game of its time. These are not your average gamers.
Dude Ive rewatched day 1 so much so far. Caught it live via Lily's stream, watched Phi's VOD, then OTV & friends and Sajam's highlights and now this. Theres something about watching beginners improve thats just endlessly enjoyable. Lily in particular has been cool to watch, as although she might not be high rank, she's putting in the work and clearly having a blast. Between Lily's enthusiasm and Phi's hype, Sykkuno's plot armour, Scarra's ego and Toast's trash-talk, this has been a blast and im 100% a Team PhiDX enjoyer. Im almost sad the event's coming to an end tonight.
Honestly it’s amazing seeing all these streamers I used to enjoy years ago playing Tekken! Never would have expected it and as always really really happy everyone was actually serious about learning! The hours everyone’s been putting in is commendable just by itself!
My favorite part is Phi experiencing opposite ends of the emotional spectrum multiple times in rapid succession at 8:50 and then going “It’s just 1-1?!?!”
I would like to ask you something, the reason i bought a tekken 8 because i want to play the muaythai guy but when i open it he doesn't i the game so why it's like that because i saw leroy still in the game. and what character should i play instead of muaythai guy
I watched most of this live. Although I got confused and thought Day 2 was over, so I stopped watching. While it actually continued until the winner was decided. Heard people got WANGED!
Wait hold the goddamn phone buddy you're just gonna hype me up like that and not show your match after? I'm fuckin invested now man and I'm to poor to even get Tekken 8 right now lol
Well, you've finally done it. I've been inspired to quit Tekken. You've helped me realize I've wasted years of my life and will never be good at anything. People passing my skill level in a few days, i never realized just how worthless I really was at this game
@@shogun0810I watched the entire sajam pov on day 1, only saw phidx vs jwong couch match and a few other couches. I'm only stating most matches ended in 3-0 or 3-1 before the coaches got to play, whats the issue? Team phi didnt win a lot of games on day 1
tekken actually easy to get into and all you need to be good is to grind games like you have no life and its legit perfect for streamers I wish it was a better game though. the lagging and DCing and Plugging and balance issues I fear that the playerbase will continue to drop I mean its already smaller than SF6 after a month
I think the decision to make it both an arena fighter and a 2D fighter was the right call for casual appeal, but that limits its competitive appeal. No one wants to watch a Mewtwo mirror that might end in a time out without even entering duel phase. But that could just be a balance issue. The bigger problem is that Pokemon IP will never be licensed on non-Nintendo platforms. And Nintendo still doesn't understand that the console online experience was solved a decade ago, and insist on rolling their own subpar netcode and infrastructure, and charging extra for it. That prevents a competitive scene from ever really developing.
As someone who escaped League of Legends and ''eSports legends'' from that game and community, Tekken 8 was my refuge. A fresh start and new beginning to enjoy fighting games again. Seeing you make these videos to gas these people up is very disheartening. Scarra, boxbox, LilyPichu and everyone from that game and community are incredibly obnoxious, toxic (not a fun way) and bring the wrong kind of vibe to Tekken and fighting games in general. Let fighting games and Tekken 8 become popular naturally WITHOUT these influencers. It already is doing that purely from how accessible and good Tekken 8 is. Please don't bring these influencers from that community over here. Please stop gassing them up with these RU-vid titles. Thank you.
I am really curious where you see these creators being toxic. All of my experiences with them are 200% positive. The communities from league are very toxic undoubtedly. But these creators have shown none of that in the entire month of Tekken they've been engrossed in
I loved this event. And I am so glad we have such amazing persons in our Tekken Community who coached these teams: PhiDX MYK BrawlPro Joey Fury KawaiiFaceMiles And Justin Wong. These coaches did amazing work and the competitors showed how hard they all trained. You can all be proud of the show you delivered for the fans ❤🎉🎉🎉
(Sorry, i just studied english on college) DUDE! I just have the biggest tip to play on playstation pad, you have to change the controls by accessibility and set the movemnt commands to the R1,L1 righ and left. and R2,L2 for up and down. Then you can do the same as mix box can do (press oposites direcctions at the same time)
I have 570h in Tekken 7 and 60h in Tekken 8. From T7 to T8, I went from Warrior to Shinryu. All in all I am agast by how fast these streamers went from start to red ranks and higher. Even orange ranks are really solid. Travelling through the five stages of grief, I'm more determined than ever to improve my Tekken fundementals and terribe endurance.
if you are high level in any game you will have a huge advantage when learning Tekken. a lot of the skills you need carry over. what they are laking in legacy skill they make up for with talent
Bro the outro always gets me man specially when you are hitting the floor , nice video as always , also was it the God power of king Scarra or Plot Armor of Sykunno ?, welp doesn't matter I am rooting for your team Phi , lets GOOOO
This was such a hype match to watch live and it was genuinely awesome to see you fight JWong after, i jumped out of my chair in excitement when Scarra took boxbox out
