Incredible job by all here! Soloists absolutely blew it out of the park, but how about that *absolutely perfect* Rhapsody in Blue solo? Emma Lacy, you absolutely nailed everything here as I said previously in another comment. Just incredible stuff from you and the entire band.
@@dukeofrodtown1705 I've been teaching for decades and only once in a great, great while does a student excel the way these two gals do. Its a natural born gift however you still have to work hard and practice daily as they no doubt did. They also were born with a passion for this, born with a little flame in their hearts that grew into a big burning flame when they were introduced to hearing jazz records of the giants of the past. I feel like these two will not only be very successful and go onto great things , but they are already superstars! Super talent comes in all ages all genders and all races, either it's there or it's not, it's as simple as that. These two are in my opinion super talents!
@@albiondi4078 Well said mate! Could not put any of what you said better myself. As the old adage says, all it takes is just a spark. And then something remarkable happens! As someone who's a music enthusiast, I enjoy seeing young folks like myself progress throughout their careers, hitting all the milestones that come with time, hard work, practise, and patience.
How does a school find so many talented kids who not only have time to study other subjects and do homework and go to class but also spend hours practicing (in some cases multiple) instruments, plus memorising the parts?! Are they all given Hermione Granger time turners? The mind boggles! 😮
Everyone plays so well! My student was with Garfield High (Seattle, WA) and played drums. So much virtuosity on that stage, all of them! Congrats to everyone. And always play for the love of music!
Incredible job on all three selections. Your clarinet solo on Rhapsody in Blue was the best I've heard in ages - and given that your tripling skills are just something else, it really indicates that you're beyond extremely talented. And *that* is more than just an understatement - all the best wherever your future takes you!
What a band! Emm a lacy is world class. Note that all this complex pieces are being played without sheet music!, is it me or was one of the trumpets playing out of tune?
