This is a quick video that goes over why I feel using ethanol fuel in your small engines is not going to save you any money versus using non-ethanol fuels.
Was there any white oxidation in your carburetor. Seems like fuel additives cause that. I just wonder if the ethanol does also? I have pulled a few carbs apart that was bad enough they was beyond repair.
No white crusties in this one but I do know what you are talking about. I think if this one would have sat longer it could have gotten them. That is when the aluminum starts corroding away. Best tool I have found for cleaning these nasty carbs is a heated ultrasonic cleaner. Completely break down the carb and throw it all in the ultrasonic cleaner for 10 to 20 minutes. Then blow it out with brake clean and compressed air.
@@larryperry2094 I have been using the small 2.5 liter ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight for years and I have been very pleased with it. They sell a cleaning powder but I just use water and dawn dish soap. I turn the heater on and get the water good and hot. Works every time.
