Hey, Etho, unfortunately, in 1.13, the bug that lets you change the sand type was fixed because of the block id changes, i suggest farming up some red sand before you update so that you have a supply for later!

First thing is, I dont comment often, but I want to sincerely thank you Etho. You got me out of depression in middle school, you taught me most of the english I know, and also gave me motivation to become a great person. Its been.. It feels like only couple years passed since chocolate island, but Im a student now (It feels so silly, time flies by) and yet I still watch your content with passion. I want to express my pure happines, that I got to know you. You don't know me, and I dont know who you are, but I know Etho. And Etho and his teachings will stay as a part for me forever. Life was rough, but your attitude has always helped me with pushing forward. At some point in the future you will stop, and we both know this. But remember, that Etho will always live on. I really hope that if Ill ever have children in the future, they will also get to know and like your content. Well, you may say I got Etho'd! Stay great man.

Honestly Etho, half of your Let's Play audience doesn't even play the game anymore, or watch any other Minecraft videos because we're bored by it. The fact that you are able to continually create intriguing and inspiring videos of Minecraft is incredible. I highly doubt that you're reading this, Etho, but if you are you should be extremely proud in yourself because you've been able to sustain an audience for years on a game that half of your viewers don't even play anymore.

This is by far the most positive and encouraging community on all of RU-vid. It is amazing scrolling through all the comments and not seeing one negative remark. The community you have created here on RU-vid is one of the best and it will continue to be for many more years. You should be proud of what you created here because it is truly special.

This is why Etho is legend, when he uploads a video it is always a good one. you know that you have atleast 20min entertainment. Etho, stats doesn't say everything. You have the most positive and supporting viewers out there. Comment section is the "stats" where you need to look at.

Etho: I've started watching you since the beginning. I'm 25 now, working full-time and building a life for myself. Your videos will always leave a mark in my memory, my childhood - a simpler time. My fondest is when I would be excited after school to catch one of your new videos. Don't ever forget that your channel has helped shape RU-vid itself. It might sound like an exaggeration, but your presence in Minecraft on YT really did cause many series of actions to happen on this platform. I'll always love watching your original LP videos ( I don't understand what goes on in your modded series anymore) and I'll always be a fan.

*My idea for you* Build a wooden house in the middle of a snowy area. Make it look extremely cosy with moody lighting (use halfslebs inside for example), a big camin that doesn't burn the entire house. Then put your sound up, put the lighting to moody and wait for a snowstorm. Then walk all the way to the hut, look out of the windows and sit down at the camin and tell us a story of your life.

The majority of us will always appreciate you and the awesome content you give us. 2011-2017 is a long time for making videos and I totally understand that it's getting harder to come up with ideas in vanilla. But your true long time hardcore fans (like myself) will never give you a hard time and pester you for fewer vanilla episodes.

I remember a day when one button boat dispensing was a major advancement.. now its build a super computer. Ohhh how minecraft has changed... The days where etho didn't talk, now every episode is full of talking... I was on a vanilla server with a friend doing pixelart of IRL pictures with them and other friends on the server. It reminding me of the mindcrack episode yall did a pixelart of guude (i think). Which brings me to this: Have you ever thought of adding a museum to your world for pixel art, redstone, funny glitches, etc? Or a grave yard for things that arent around anymore such as the blocks that are null because their id got updated.. just drop em in a chest under ground and a sign above.. or if its a bug you miss just a sign saying the bug?

Watching your episodes of vanilla minecraft always reminds me of watching cartoon series back in the days where you would wake up on a sunday morning while the others are still asleep and you get in front of the TV and just enjoy a few good episodes of your favorite series. That's why I usually watch your episodes on saturday or sunday mornings. I'm over 30 years old now :)

Etho, we all love you. Do whatever you want, and we'll always support you. It's your unique and amazing personality, the thought you put in your videos and great and mature sense of humor that make your videos so special. I started watching your videos at about episode 200 (I was watching Doc before, he lead me to MindCrack, that lead me to Pause, and he lead me to you (you were outstandingly good Minecrafter at some of your team Canada videos)). I liked your videos so much that I watched every single of your let's plays you've made (even the first 200 ones) - and they were all fun to watch! That being said, I totally understand your lack of inspiration. After so many years, so many hours of playing, so many videos. But that's alright. Sadly, I don't have any super awesome ideas for you. I can just tell you which types of videos I like. I loved all your CTM maps with Pause and Beef. Especially Simulation Protocol: Animosity. I laughed so much when I was watching you guys struggle through that map, it was amazing. I would like to see more of those (the last Simulation Protocol will be released soon (although the guy who's making it also lacks inspiration and wants to move on from Minecraft), so team Canada might wanna give it a try). The Captive Minecraft map has also three other versions you guys didn't play. Labyrint of Puzzles was a terrible map, but your jokes about it later on were amazing. I really like the modded Minecraft, especially Project Ozone or Sky Factory you did with Beef and Pause. In vanilla, you don't have to always make huge projects. We love the world you play in, and we would like to watch you do anything. Simple mining episode with you talking about stuff (I know you protect your privacy and don't want to tell us too much about your life, but the information you occasionally let out are really interesting (when you share your problems such as the sleep schedule, it makes it feel like you're our real "friend" (I hope it doesn't look like I'm mad now))). The biome enhancement project could continue. Make paths to your builds, finish the library, make random buildings. Or start a new world, we would understand it (although I would wait for 1.14 with it), and with the new water mechanics, you can redesign all the old contraptions. I can imagine I'll myself have tons of fun trying to figure things out when 1.14 comes out (a lot of people don't like the upcoming water mechanics change, but I'm looking forward to it - it's a huge potential for new content). Or you can play other games. I just don't want you to disappear from RU-vid, from our lives. But if you want to, we would be sad, but we would totally understand it. Watching you play Hearthstone was amazing. I know it's hard to comment on to it, but you don't have to talk all the time about something super interesting. Just tell us your thoughts about how the current game is going, what do you thing about opponents moves, what you plan on doing and so on. Another thing you might wanna try is try to play more on HermitCraft. I know that world resets are frustrating, but the last season is pretty long already. Build a new base, colab with some of the guys there, make pranks, take it easy, enjoy it. You don't have to build Nexus 2.0 to keep us interested. I would gladly watch you build a cobble skull with Doc and do silly things such as catching a blaze and setting up a trap, like Doc did. Stealing crafting tables was a hilarious idea, it's sad you didn't continue with it. We love your personality, Etho. You're kind, don't swear, don't beg for likes (which makes me instantly like every single of your video), you're funny, smart, you've got an amazing voice. Hearing you say things like "I've had a good run on RU-vid" is one of the saddest things I've ever heard you say. You're an inspiration to the millions of players who visited your channel. It's about time we were an inspiration to you. Read through the comments, you created an amazing community that loves you. We want to support you, especially when the times get worse. One thing i like about you (and dont take this the wrong way) is that you never did a face reveal these last 6 years ive been watching you and i hope i will die never knowing what you look like (sorry i know it sounds bad and you propably are a handsome lad irl so no offence). 6 years is a long time especially since i was a kid when i started watching you and now im an adult. Hey Etho, thanks for the update on this series! Back when the biome updates were big, you mentioned maybe starting a new world. I was pro stay on the current one and see if can be made to work if possible , but... do you the aquatic update is going to break this world too much? If starting a new world shortly after the update is fully released would renew that spark, go for it! There are so many things in this world that are broken, and 1.14 is really not going to help with the list of what can and can't be repaired. It would be cool to see you make things work, but it would take far too much time. I absolutely love this world! But, I also loved Chocolate Island. If you start a new world we'll miss it for sure, but there's nearly 400 episodes to re-watch (about 30 minutes a piece average and it's literally over 8 days straight of content) if we ever feel the need to visit this one again. Inspiration in the mean time: take a visit to the mini-base and see if any ideas for expanding it come to mind? I love all your series, Project Ozone is currently my favorite, and whatever Team Canada is up to at the time is second (Ark is pretty great right now). All in all, I prefer seeing a happy, cheerfully inspired Etho occasionally, than a sad Etho often. I came to your channel years ago for the redstone. I stayed for the man. Take care of yourself, buddy.

Honestly Etho Minecraft is a very old game and you've upload almost 500 episodes n 'Etho play Minecraft' alone and never once had a déjà vu moment. Every episode is different. I'm pretty sure over 50% of the people that subscribed to watch Minecraft alone don't play the game anymore including myself so it's understandable.

Thanks for talking about what's going on at the end there. I would love an episode where you just point out weird problems in your world and then talk about what you would want added to the game.

Can totally understand Etho! The success of this series is because you put so much attention into each episode so they are always entertaining. An idea is an episode dedicated to fixing things up and finishing small projects that won't take too much time, like the road that doesn't end, cleaning up random chests you don't need and small areas between projects that are unfinished etc. You could get a lot done! The episode could culminate in finishing the magically floating Zombie Pigman farm building by adding a pillar. The episode could be called "Finishing things off" :p

Dude this channel was my child hood I really hope you are still around later in my life as I would want my kids to watch you but just know I am getting into my adulthood and have grown out of the whole Minecraft era but I still continue to come back for your personality I just wanted you to know that

Gotta say I can't stop enjoying this series, and the occasional breaks from it, helps to keep it fresh. I have however compiled a list over challenges / tasks / things for you to potentially do, and they range from build ideas to more ambitious stuff. I hope everyone enjoys my suggestions. So here goes: -A harbor setting with docks. maybe including a parkour challenge of sorts, assassins creed style, where you jump of decals stuck on the facade of the buildings. -A spaceship battle up by the build hight limit (not something I can recall you have done a lot of). Would quite enjoy a futuristic change of styles. Would also give you something new to try (personally). -More minigames (the difference being, you include commandblocks to help control the mechanics, and with clear limitations as inventory control, and no free items ect). There is a lot of ideas for games yet. And a fresh take on old games like spleef, or that one game where you walk around a labyrint with a zombie at the other end, and you have to make it out before he gets you. Just to mention a few ideas) -A indoor big greenhouse, with all the different animals (friendly), that you can collect in the wild. -And on the topic of animals. How about a zoo? Each animal can be named, and have their own pen. Know vintagebeef tried this way back in that modded series of his, but he failed, so you can try and see if you can beat him to it :) -As far as I can recall, we have not yet seen you do a realistic city or sorts. Could be interesting to see you do a go at that. maybe to a apocalyptic city setting? -How about a carnival? Maybe a festival? -Its also almost Christmas (at the time of writing this comment) so how about setting up a Christmas village? You can include redstone lightshows, and have a timed firework display. Loads of room to get creative here. -A big industrial fantasy mine complex. with big heavy vehicles, fire-pits, big pipes, cranes, rail tracks and as much ore as one can think off. Depth is also encouraged. -I'm not sure if you are a fan of vintage trains, but I sure am, and would love if you built a station of sorts complete with a vintage locomotive and carts. Not has to be a grand terminus, but it could be cool too. -With the inclusion of vehicles, how about an airport setting? I know this is a favorite by many and would be interesting to see what you can do with this idea. -A underwater city. The lost city of Atlantis maybe? or just a aquatic village? -A ravine village. This is an idea i've not seen too many do yet, but maybe a village build into the cliff sides of a ravine? The bigger ravine the better obviously, because more room. -A memorial site for all the different bosses and hardmode mobs in the game. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ** Loads of build ideas here at least. And being a fan, I know you like your redstone contraptions, so I have included a few suggestions for redstone builds too. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Remember that one episode you did etho, in modded, where you had a flying platform to pick up oil or ore? Well, how about trying the same with redstone and slimeblocks? see how close you can get. -A working screen to display different information. Perhaps a counter to show amount, and a icon for type. This can also maybe be hooked up to your storage system. Maybe something with the shulkerboxes. -How about a u-boat with redstone and slimeblocks? As a added challenge, how about making a walkabout and breathable space inside the u-boat for you to use. - A checkpoint system for a elytra flying course? Could be done with string and tripwire hooks maybe. - how about a mystery puzzle game? By solving riddles and puzzles, players(for those that would download your world) make their way tru the course. Again, loads to be potentially done here with redstone. -Now this one is a bit special, but how about a concert light show? the compactness, and precision combined with timing to a noteblock song makes this a tough challenge that Im sure a lot of people would enjoy. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - These were the ideas I could think of off the top of my head, but I hope everyone enjoyed them.

I love the look of the building, not enough people build organically and i think the waviness of he roof is super neato. Love the colours, 20/10 (thus far). Very inspirational. Btw, been here for over six years and this is the one MC series I’ll never stop watching.

One thing I've done to keep inspiration is to take a random word or phrase (mainly from a generator) and tried to run with it. One thing that you never have really done is to create an area or a city with its own intricate lore, and the builds to reflect the lore you create. I always love watching these, this is by far the best content on RU-vid. Thanks Etho.

Always remember your fans are there, and we love when you have fun, so old projects, new ideas, a new world, a new game, new modpack, anything you enjoy we'll enjoy too! I think going back to hermitcraft would help you, multiplayer minecraft always gets me back to enjoying the game (not to do big personal projects, but to have fun derping with others and making comunity stuff) Anyway, love your vids, ark, modded and lp. Etho, don´t worry about taking breaks with this or any other series you ever make. We all eventually grow tired of even the things that give us the most amazing experiences. Your content is always fantastic, and i don´t mind having to wait several days, weeks or even months if it means that i'll get videos of you making stuff you love to do. As long as you enjoy playing games and recording your adventures, ideas and projects, we the viewers will always enjoy it too, because is that enjoyment of yours with your games, more than any other thing, what is amazing about your series, and also what inspires all of us to eventually try, keep playing or come back to those games. I've been slowly making my way through these LP episodes, it's crazy how I still learn about minecraft each episode! I watched minecraft videos for the past 7 years or so, but I only recently discovered Etho. The way he plays minecraft is so different, I find it so fascinating. I really love discovering kinda wacky ways of doing things,, man it's so fun! It's refreshing to see things talked through step by step, and seeing the failed versions, and all the tests that make such cool Ed products. Etho's style is timeless I love it, I'm so glad to see someone stick to their ways of making videos, still improving but keeping that signature style.. its great,, i just had to leave a comment as I've been watching hundreds of videos but never commented haha.

Etho thank you so much for everything you’ve done. I’m glad you’ve been taking time off and concentrated on yourself and it’s great to hear that you’re doing good :) Most of us would be perfectly satisfied with and episode where you just lay down dirt blocks or cut trees while chatting about everything and nothing, so don’t sweat it. Some ideas for future projects: A zoo! I remember tango and impulse did this in hermitcraft series 3 in the nether and that was so awesome to watch. I think think trying to capture every mob could be a good project. A hostile mob switch: Sure it might take out all the fun of dealing with mobs but, who knows, it might come in handy someday. Also you can just leave mobs turned on but it would be nice to have the option. A clock/calendar Make a machine that keeps track of days that pass in minecraft. Then you can set up your own minecraft holidays or even random events that happen when there is a new year or whatever. I know it keeps track of days in stats but this could be something fun to build. (Maybe you can organize your months around phases of the moon since there are no seasons in minecraft.) Make a skybase Something like you had from your old singlerplayer modded series. Maybe even make it look like a fleet of UFOs Make a "speed run/ parkour" mini game A game that records your time and includes a bunch of little machines to watch out for while parkouring. A bunch of moving blocks, maybe some mobs to look out for, could be a fun project.

Etho I love your work! You mentioned wanting build ideas. Here are some of my favorite builds I've made recently (especially redstone wise!): - Lighthouse - Lock (for moving boats up and down) - Barn - Underwater dome

Etho watching you play Minecraft has became part of my growing up. Ever since I started playing the game in about 8th grade, and even before I played it my brother did and I watched sometimes with him. I'm now a senior in high school and it's just sad to see your channel and Minecraft, that's been a huge part of my life, start to go down and die out. Any way keep doing what you're doing and enjoy yourself because you have brought enjoyment to so many others.

I have been watching your videos for close to 3 years now and you are by far my favorite RU-vidr. I haven't played mine craft in over a year, but somehow I still find so much joy in watching these videos. Always have put a smile on my face and have helped me through some hard times. Hey Etho, I completely understand where you’re coming from. Enjoy having more time to do the stuff you want. In regards to suggestions on what to build/do on your LP, you could do builds that are inspired by the other things in your life. For example, you could do a build based on your favourite historical era or something similar. In terms of challenges, you could make your own achievement board, and others who watch could try to accomplish the achievements you set. I realise that you probably won’t see this, but in a way that’s a good thing because it means your comment section if full of positive feedback and support from everyone else :)

Hey Etho, I'm glad to hear you're still doing okay. I've watched you now for over 7 years, starting wayyy back when you built your first mob system in your original LP world. When I stop to think of all the memories I have of watching your content, I'm amazed at how much you've done. After this long, I'm not really here because I want to watch Minecraft (in fact you're the only Minecraft series I watch anymore), but because watching your videos makes me feel at home. Thank you for all that you've done, and all that you're still doing. Keep doing what makes you happy, and of course I'll keep watching. As for episode ideas: Build a tree house. Kinda simple, but I'm hoping to see an Etho'd tree house, complete with all the flashy redstone contraptions you can pack into it. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying ARK, Project Ozone is great, and I'm re-watching Legendary for the third time. If you want to try new games, I'd love to see Oxygen Not Included, Subnautica, Cities Skylines, and I'd kill to see you play Factorio. They seem like they'd fit well on your channel, and they've got lots of content to explore. -Cole

Etho, if you are running out of ideas, I suggest making a slime coaster! The modern minecraft roller coaster. I would also finish old projects for something to do on that world.

Hey Etho, I just wanna say thanks for the 8-9 years or however long it's been of quality gaming content you've given us here on RU-vid. You're one of the only RU-vidrs I watch where I will watch whatever you put out regardless of what it is, because I know it will be entertaining. On that same note, about this series in particular; I think I agree with what others are saying that this series needs a refresh if you're gonna continue it long-term. Like you said, theres just not much left to do in the current LP world. Maybe it's time to start a new world? Also glad to see you're playing some different games, namely Ark survival with the Canadians. I'm curious as to what you'll end up playing next! Anyway, enough rambling for me. I think it's great Etho's taking time off. It gives us a chance to watch his older series. I think he did a good job addressing it by explaining how he has been doing RU-vid for 8 years and he is still committed, but is still working a job I think. He has stated that he likes trees and shrubs and probably has a job at some greenhouse. I know he enjoys his work in trees and on RU-vid, but he deserves some time to himself. I respect that and he deserves the same amount of respect. Don't really complain because he would most likely announce it if he was going to stop uploading, but he has about 2 million subscribers and I have been with his channel since about 200 thousand. He takes some breaks, but always gets back on a semi accurate upload schedule.

I finally got through all of your Let’s Play videos after almost a year, and boy has it been a journey. I’d suggest that, if you’re really lacking inspiration, just make a new world. As another person suggested, maybe at Episode 500? Spend the next 3 episodes tidying up the world and making final touches. It doesn’t have to be the end, but a new start might be best. It would give you motivation to make more content and we viewers would be able to see the journey from the start with an Etho who has way more charisma and knowledge. Good luck!

Totally get the burn out thing. There are some amazing builds on Titancraft but I've had the same minecraft funk recently too. What would be cool is another Don't Starve series with you, Doc, and Guude.

An interesting thing you could do is something I did for a while when I felt I wasn’t being challenged by MineCraft. You could make a build like normal, but restrict the block types you could use. For instance, I wanted to make a mob crusher, but my restriction was that I couldn’t use hoppers in any way. No hopper clocks. No hoppers to pick up the mob loot. It made my builds very unique and interesting, and helped me stretch my brain muscles. I personally would love to see you try this, Elmo. Love your vids btw.

Ive been watching you for maybe half a decade, even after not playing minecraft for years, Ive been waiting for a few hundred episodes now in hope for a new world, It just seems like the more exciting part.

Hey Etho, as you said, here are some ideas I've come up with for the next episode: -Do more stuff with your Amplified Base (like make roller coasters between the moutains?) -Make robots with redstone, like a plane that you can ride which can transport you between locations -Finish projects

Ik a lot of us care for you and have connected with you through out your youtube journey and would like to connect and know you even more. P.s. Ik your stats havent been as good as they once were but i believe you have the most loyal and most positive fan base on RU-vid, and thast because you have always been yourself and youve never changed who you are to please other people, and i think that's the best "stat" you can have. The Sand Converter building looks great! I think just a plain glass window would look great there. I got back into this series yesterday after putting it off after losing interest in Minecraft. I've been playing other games recently but Minecraft is a timeless classic and I feel nostalgic when I watch some good videos about it. You've convinced me to try and get back into the game and be more dedicated to it again. Thanks again for all the great content and I hope to see you strive for years to come and for *you* you, the person sitting at the desk behind the monitor dedicating 8 years (or is it the 9 year anniversary?) to the channel, this community, and these viewers.

Glad you're good financially Etho, I'm one of the ones who always worried about that. Anyway, if you don't have inspiration for it, then I can completely understand why you're lacking in quantity of your amazing content. Inspiration is everything when it comes to anything that a person does by his or her own power, and once there isn't any more inspiration, it's hard to find more in the same place. I'm a musician and a composer, and I compose music for a huge variety of genres simply because I find it hard to stick to the same thing due to a lack of inspiration. I prefer something new and exciting. When I'm not composing or doing solo practice I'm usually playing with the local orchestra or something of the sort, and I will say, being with others is far more interesting and provides a much larger pool of inspiration than being on your own. You'll always be my favorite youtuber for a multitude of reasons, one being that I went through my teenage years watching your videos, and another being the fact that you realize your subscribers are there for you if you need us. I don't have any suggestions for what to do in your singleplayer, but I do have two suggestions to everyone reading this post. Remember that somewhere out there exists a person or multiple people who will support you and be a true friend. Also, be open to ideas from others, and share your ideas with others whether they're accepted or not. No idea is a dumb idea, because any idea can provide inspiration for something, and sharing your ideas forces you into meeting new people who will be there for you when you need them.

I've subscribed to you for a long time etho. I think it was the cactus farm tutorial when I subbed. I just want to say don't force it. If you need a break take a break. If you want to play a different game play a different game. The more passion and excitement you have for what you are doing the better. I love your videos and always look forward to watching them. That said it shouldn't feel like a chore for you. It should be fun. As for suggestions how about another hearthstone vid? Nothing special just you playing a few rounds and chatting.

I’ve been watching for 5 years+ and I still find a lot of interest in this series. I know some people have been saying make a new world at 500 episodes but let’s be real here, I don’t think you want to, and I think 90% of you audience here are long-term subscribers that come back simply because they’ve been a part or this series and world for so long. I suggest looking into a medieval village or town. Personally I think it’s fun to make, and it will also provide you with the opportunity to base the episodes off the builds. If you want a fairly easy video just make a few smaller houses or additions to the village. If you want to start a difficult and overtime build, work on a castle. I’m sure you have will have plenty of ideas to ad onto this and I think it could help get you more into it, as well as slowly start getting more episodes. But whatever you decide, it will probably be for the best, hope to see more episodes coming soon.

As well, you don't spend 5% of the video's length begging for views/subscribers etc..., and that is a BIG reason why this is my favorite channel! dear etho, most people are pressing your back by demanding annother episode. But im here to releave some preasure for you, maybe not alot but hey its a bit, etho please do what ever you like because thats what i like because thats what etho is and does, make episodes on his own tempo so he can make his only lovely special quality and that is what makes you so special. i use to watch alot of minecraft channels when i was younger like sparklrz and ssundee but i lost interest, except for you. you are one of the few channels who are them selves and do what they want and dont care about money. I stopped playing Minecraft years ago hence I stopped watching Etho. But every few months or so I come back to the channel just to see what insane thing Etho has built in the game. I end up watching whole episodes without paying mind to time. Truely one of the greatest RU-vidrs.
