I have the Arete and it's a great control paddle. Every time I take it out of the bag, people are asking about it so great conversation piece. Super fast and plays well at the net. The shape looks small but it has never been an issue for me. As the Arete is always in my bag, making a 14mm version available and offering more pop would be a slam dunk for me. That's just a personal preference as I play with power paddles. But until then, I appreciate the uniqueness and think its a great paddle to have or at least try out. This is the one paddle that I will hold onto for the long term. I'm a fan :)
The Arete has the best swing weight for me, would like to test hit this as the shape is so unique. Kudos to Ethos for being creatively practical in their shapes
I really love the companies with innovations, definitely want to try the Arete. The swing weight 116 is higher than I expected since it's more aerodynamic than most of the paddles. Long handle hurts maneuverability, I'm OK with 5.5" handle, adding 0.5" length to the paddle surface might increase the twist weight from 5.75 to maybe 6?
There are some great local players in my area using all three of these paddles. I have never used one, but would love to check out the Arete. Keep up the good work!
Kind of torn between the Telos and Arete but probably Arete! Although I wish the Arete it has Telos's option for a 4.5in grip circumference, that's a big selling point for me. I'm curious if the spin, swing + twist weight are similar to the Arete, I didn't seem to see it.
I think it really varies with how it’s being used. Its play/touch & feel varies a lot more between paddles/brands than raw carbon fiber IMO. Check out my review of the Kinetic or the Body Helix X3 if you want to hear me ramble some more about it!
