that was a really good video, meester. if i'd tried to make it, the title would have been "ears and tears".

youre quick with that punch...I like using the small horizontal punch on my perds or open nitched pounts..may have to try the liitle antler peg punches on them tho

great work by the way, and that stone has nice markings

I need to start doing more horizontal stemming on the thinner points and my Perds too These etley are pretty thick so the vert punch helps avoid end snap on the big ones.

Hey this video is top notch in quality and execution. Especially compared to your old videos. You mention notching better material with a hammerstone? That is something I probably don't want to see. Sounds very scarey :D

I think it's likely lots of these late archaic lances were notched w stone punches. it's not so bad when you go into the preform hap hazard, then orient the rest of the point around the result. It's the best kept secret in knapping since 1992

where is that chert from? It looks like Bayport from Michigan but that would be a huge nodule.

I haven't been to that one in a while, though it's a great knap in.

What did you mean by "dry harvester"? You can do an expanded base, too. The Hayden boys did that. Do a Neralich blade...
@Flintknappingtips
@Flintknappingtips 9 лет назад
This raw harvester is a bit chalky, aka "dry" in parts. Next time I knap w neralich I'll have him bring his cast over and I'll try one.

Flintknappingtips Oh ok, wasn't sure if you meant something else or not. I have harvester by the ton where I live.
