Drinking game every time I say “Premium”

It's quite interesting that Eton shirts are so expensive in the US compared to Sweden. I just checked and even though they've raised the prices a bit the last year or so the retail price is about 1200-2000 SEK - which is about $120-$200 (including 25% VAT). So I guess, swing by Sweden and stock up ;) I also disagree with Sigurdur's comment about Stenström. I've tried several but have had no luck there. But it might depend on model and/or fabrics I guess. Me personally, having a very non-standard size (short and somewhat heavy set) I usually go for MTM in a menswear boutique unless I find Eton shirts on sale.

There was no review on Eton shirts on RU-vid. Thank you TheKavalier! It would also be very nice to get your opinion on comparison between Eton and other luxurious shirts.

When I met you I was definitely wearing a Gap shirt but over the holidays I started sourcing a few Eton shirts at Bloomingdales because they had some pretty decent sales. I must have picked up 5 or so. Hands down the best shirts I own to date. I was enamored with TM Levin for a while but the things that get me with my Eton shirts are the collars and the buttons. Hands down, the best buttons I’ve seen on off the rack shirts. Some have that hidden button down collar too which is absolutely mint. So over last summer I was looking at them in the Eton store on Madison Ave and the sales person was very snooty so I left without even trying to buy one. And since basically NOBODY is snooty at Bloomingdales, I wound up buying all of my Eton shirts there. I also tried a couple of Brooks Brothers and Hugo BOSS shirts as well. They had some incredible sales. Definitely my go to shirts for any future meetups in SoHo 😉 aYou definitely get what you’re u pay for with these higher end shirts. Take care Jon. Stay strong. I had a chance to try those and unfortunately they don't fit short torso :( they are too long and the collar is super high so no deal for me. The quality is top notch though

I have these shirts. The quality is life changing. When you try on this shirt for the first time nothing compares. It's very smooth and breathable. The bottom are tough but elegant. The collar is amazing. Also the most important thing he missed is that these shirts will almost never wrinkle! The fabric is so good that it stays in shape amazingly.

Love the Eton shirts. I have some from almost a decade ago that have withstood the test of time.

They truly are great shirts, especially for us Swedes where they are around 60% of US prices :)

I have over 100 shirts from Eton. They make the most comfortable shirts in the world . I would probably have more if they always have the 18.5 size . I mean, they make shirts!

Not feeling the collar seems small for you.

my biggest concern after a few months of training is the fitting of the shirt in the chest. I have a very slim belt. And most of the superslims fit perfectly here, but the chest is tight. If I am in model slim in the chest, it is okay, but there is already a problem with excess excess around the waist. Unfortunately, there is nothing like custom made

Every tailor shop seems to have Eton shirts. And personally I'm not a fan, maybe its just buttons I'm not a fan off. Considering they're being paid so much money you'd think they'd bother to give you good quality buttons.

I am 6’3” 188 pounds, 40L, just bought a slim Eton shirt. Really want to try their super slim, have always had trouble finding properly fitting shirts. Perfect for a guy working in wealth management. Thank you for the vid!

As a active thrift store shopper, I see like new Eton shirts all the time for less that $10. Also, the EBay marketplace for lightly preowned Eton shirts are very low, so you want rather pay $30 for lightly preowned ones instead of close to $300, I would recommend giving eBay a look! Huge fan of the channel, been watching for years!

one trick for ETON shirts sleeves is that you don't need to shorten them if they are too long, just flip cuff upwards and use a cufflink to hold them.

Anyone know the actual sleeve length of Eton shirts? Their measurements are useless because the factor in the shoulder which other manufacturers don't do...

The best shirts out there! The material used is premium and high-quality which lasts forever. Also never wrinkles.

I've had many Eton shirts a few years ago. And I bought one recently. Altough they were fine, I can't say I share your enthousiasm. I don't think its worth the price. For the same money I prefer Cordone 1956.... but, its just an opinion. That, said, great vid as usual.

I think the Swedish shirt company stenströms is better than eton. Eton is way too expensive in us, it's cheaper in Europe.

It's a great thrift find too! Because of the quality of the shirt they usually hold up great as second hand buys. Found a white contemporary casual shirt in my size for 10$!

Hm for that kind of price you can go to a professional tailor

Better value than Ledbury ?

I have two Etons and a dozen Stenstoms, their factories are a stones throw away from each other and I can confidently say Stenstroms is better in almost every way. Cheaper, better wear, greater prints and fabrics. The only downfall of Sten over Eton is the ironing. Double ply cotton from Stenstoms is much more durable than treated anti-wrinkle fabric from Eton, BUT the Shirts don't Iron as easy and if you don't get the right fabric, can be difficult on the press. Certainly better accessories and knitwear as well, My friend and I both have some ties and knitwear and we both rely on them as wardrobe staples. Check out their mother of pearl cufflinks, might be the most beautiful set I've ever seen.

So I got my first Eaton shirt on a sale from Nordstroms. I was expecting to be blown away by the quality of the shirt! far from being the truth. let me explain: I purchased 16 inch collar slim fit white signature twill shirt with gray buttons! to start! the white fabric is see thru more than I would expect from a nearly 300 dollar shirt! I was so surprised that the tie bar for 50 doll white shirt is actually whiter less see thru then the signature white twill shirt! 2nd: I weight 175 and am 5' 7 tall and the shirt still fits baggy around the chest, enough so when I wear a tie it fold a lot on front cost area if you know what I mean. 3rd, is the worst! are you frickin kidding me? are these shirts designed for chimpanzees? really, sleeves are way too long, most brand offer shirts with 16 inch collars with sleeves from 32- 34 niches in length. So you will need 90% of the time have the sleeves shortened. You will not find a eaton sleeve that will fit your arms, unless you are >6 foot tall and have very long arms. Their slim fit shirts are more like regular fit, if you are athletic and fairly slim, you will need the extra slim size to fit nice! 4th: Shirts on sale at their website do not give you option tailor the sleeves like their full price shirts. why? price for tailoring their regular price shirts is 40 on top of full price, price to tailor the same shirt on sale is 100+ dollars? Thats if they give you the option. I really like the feel of the collars and general feel of the shirt, and yes they are well made, but what the point of buying a shirt that you will end up cutting up and be adulterated by a tailor? I was ready to purchase so many shirts from Eton but it has ended being a frustrating process. for sure theses shirts are not worth 250-290 doll. I hope this helps some you, consider a few things before you shell out 250 doll.

Strong flex... Eton shirts are legit - got some of the incredible white shirts on eBay for $45 each basically brand new, and actually got one from from saks off 5th for $20 on Black friday! So now I can the look the part even though I'm not lol

Eton shirts are like flowers. Beautiful but delicate. I had two $300 Eton shirts and both of them ripped in the elbows, armpits, and buttons. I wasn't even doing anything extreme. I was just wearing them at my office job.

Do they have Mother of Pear buttons? Mine does not.

I just ordered a couple from Nordstom Rack, after watching and reading some Eton shirt reviews. I'm just sick of companies like Charles Tyrwhitt making their shirts in China, and I'm annoyed that my favorite shirts (Bugatchi) are also made in China, and a bit annoyed that the only US-made dress shirts cost $175-$280. Eton sounds like it's exactly what I'm looking for, in quality, country of origin and price - as long as you don't pay full price ordering through their web site. I think you'll find lower prices buying them through a retail store like Nordstroms, Bloomingdales or [obviously] through Nordstroms Rack, although your choices will be very limited there - even before you filter the options by size and fit.

Why does a Gap shirt cost $300 and Eton cost $280? Buy a $20 Gap shirt now and need to replace it with a $280 shirt later. Save the $20 and buy an Eton.

When people say "European" they usually mean within the European Union, so that EU protections apply which basically necessitate higher quality (due to nobody wanting to pay EU rates and obey EU rights without getting skilled labour). North Macedonia isn't in the EU. Just a nitpick.

Are the button holes cut then sewn? Do the buttons have a shank? What's the Cotton staple Length? What's the process that the cotton goes through? The cotton is probably made from a little bit better than average cotton, And the Buttons are made from mother of pearl (but what grade of MOP?) The shirts are probably bad value for money. I say that because they don't really give you much detail about their shirts on the website.

Some Eton shirts have very interesting and special patterns. I think that’s the only reason I get eton shirts sometimes. Getting a plain solid color eton shirt is honestly a waste of money in my view. Better off with a bespoke.

I cant justify paying the price for them when theyre made in romania and other low cost countries. Due to that, you would think they would be cheaper. Also, especially since their shirts just have plastic buttons.

Important to note that Eton shirts do not have true MOP buttons! The buttons are made of a composite of MOP dust and a plastic resin. It doesn't break, but it doesn't have the luster and value of true MOP.

My only reservation is that for that price, I could get a bespoke short from saville row..

Try out Stenstrom shirts next . I have both eton and Stenstrom . I enjoy both of them ,but the fabric is softer and more interesting patterns besides florals .

Eton shirts mostly, if not all, have convertible cuffs too. There is a hole between the buttons on the cuffs where you can convert it use cuff links/knots. Eton is a “premium” shirt for sure.

I'm sure you would like this shirt a little more if they placed the top button like Ledbury does.

At that price point you can find mtm shirts with quite decent fabrics. Personally I wouldn’t pay $180-200 for an off the rack shirt.

My Eton shirts are definitely my favorite ones. The fit is just right.

Eton is the second best. Stenstroms is the holy grail of dress shirts. I'd choose them over my Anto Beverly Hills shirts

I've been happy with every single Eton shirt I've had so far! Slim and Contemporary fits have been awesome, the only shirt I'd say that has rivaled it for me in terms of fit has been some of the Billy Reid shirts I've gotten. They just look and feel terrific, haven't found many other shirts like it.

Love this one however if you are wear this shirt white one you need to wear a different suit with it, the jacket you had on was to wear with a casual shirt

No one can argue that those aren't some beautiful shirts but the pricing for something like that off the rack is just way beyond most peoples budget.

I had a weird experience with Eton. I bought a shirt online because I knew that color would sell out quickly. Then went in person to the store and tried a few shirts the same size I ordered online and they wouldn't fit properly, I've got wider shoulders but a tapered waste (nothing crazy) and there would be too much extra fabric on the body. However when I got the shirt I ordered, the fit was perfect so I'm not sure if the fabric has something to do or what really happened but on the store we agreed with the manager that the shirts weren't fitting...

For me Eton shirts are a worthy investment.

Eton is like the Chrysler of shirts, they certainly are not anywhere near the top.

All shirts should be button down collars. Looks better with or without tie, open or closed. Timeless. Other shirts with a tie, need to be checked 100 times a day.

In my experience, the buttons have been plastic with a mother of pearl look to them. If you touch your tongue to the button (yes, its strange) mother of pearl is cold to the touch and plastic is a normal room temperature. You will notice the difference.
