Hey everybody, how's it going. Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the air lift, wireless air compressor system here on our 2020 GMC Sierra 3,500. So an air compressor system isn't a requirement for onboard airbags, but they are gonna make your life that much easier. So normally in order to fill the air bags in your truck here, you're gonna have to find an external compressor to fill them up. And if you find yourselves to be changing loads frequently, or just simply towing frequently, that's gonna be sort of a hassle. So having a way to fill those air springs on board of our truck with the flick of a switch is gonna be a great feature to have certainly worthwhile.
So in to compatibility, it doesn't matter if you have Firestone air springs on your truck or airlift air springs. This compressor system is going to work with both. In fact, we actually have Firestone airbags installed on this particular truck and they work great with this compressor system. So the main feature of this particular compressor system is that it's wireless. Now, what the does that actually mean Well, wireless in regards to an air compressor system means there isn't gonna be any manual gauges inside the vehicle.
So with the manual gauge, they're probably a little bit more reliable. However, they do require running airlines into the cab and those extra airlines can create more chance for leaks. And there's just simply not a lot of space inside the dash on these newer trucks, it also requires drilling. So having a wireless feature, we can actually operate our airbags on a mobile app. So here's what our mobile app looks like.
It's very easy to use. So in the center here, we have an up and down arrow. This is gonna control both airbags at the same time. So if we hit the up button, it's gonna increase the pressure. We should be able to hear our air compressor kick on right away.
And this is gonna apply an even amount of pressure in either airbag. We also have the real time adjustment up at the top of the screen. So this is gonna be used for most towing. However, there is also a feature of this system where we can adjust each airbags independently known as dual path. So can actually increase the left side pressure without increasing the right side pressure. So chances are, you're probably not gonna be using this too much, depending on what you're hauling. Again, most trailer towing applications they're gonna work best with a single path, increasing the pressure and decreasing it at one time with both bags. But we'll go ahead and even out our back pressure here in order to do the at, you just simply hit the down arrow. And you should be able to hear the air releasing from our system. So again, we can do that independently or both together. So go ahead and release all the pressure. So you're gonna get down to five PSI here. That's actually the minimum requirement for the airbags, so they don't have any deforming issues. So just keep that in mind. You're always gonna have five PSI in your system at all times, but that's actually a requirement of the actual airbags themselves, not necessarily the system. So another great feature about this particular app here is that we have presets. Now, what are presets So presets are gonna come in handy if you have multiple trailers. So our trailers are probably not the same weight. Let's say we have a travel trailer and we also have a gooseneck trailer for our horses. You can actually save your PSI setting for each of those trailers. That way when you hook up, you just simply hit that pre and you're ready to go. So something you will need to adjust here within the app for your particular airbags. You're gonna go to settings here, and then you're gonna go down to settings here, and then we're gonna go to the bottom with our airbag type. So the preset for this system is the ride control airbags. And that only allows you to put 35 pounds in them. So chances are, you're probably gonna be using these with the load lifter, which allows you to put more air in them. So just make sure you choose the airbags you have from this list here. Since we have the load lifter, that's the one I'm going to select. So there's many different air compressor systems out there on the market. But this one here is by far our personal favorite among the

Per the instructions, it says not to install the compressor with the electric connection pointed down. It appears that in your video, the technician installed it incorrectly.

Step 2 on page 4 or the instructions state that the compressor can be mounted in any orientation EXCEPT with the AirLift logo upside down or facing the ground. What's shown in the video is correct. www.etrailer.com/Air-Suspension-Compressor-Kit/Air-Lift/AL58WQ.html

Tim the instructions for the 25980EZ say any orientation except with electrical connector pointed down or with air lift logo facing the ground. In this video they are installing the 73000EZ which has different orientation requirements
