Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer, and today when we talk about the WeatherTech Side Window Rain Guards on our 2021 Toyota RAV4. Now, today we got the front and rear ones, and this can be great if you're driving or you want to crack your windows just a little bit. Just either let things air out a little bit, or if it's a hot day, you just need a little bit more air flow in there. And if it's raining, you don't want any of that rain getting inside your vehicle, this is gonna be a great way to prevent that. These rain guards are gonna be constructed from acrylic, so they're gonna have a couple things about them. So they're gonna be pretty durable for what they are, and very flexible too.
So when you're getting them in here, you're gonna be able to bend them just a little bit so you can get a better fit. And it is gonna be tinted, so it's not gonna obstruct your view either. And finally, what I do like about these, they do look factory. You barely even notice them, especially with how far they just pop off. Now, overall, I think it is gonna be a good fit for your car if you're just looking for something just to keep extra rain from getting in your car if you have your windows cracked.
But if you need help installing them, just stay tuned and we'll walk you through it. To start off by installation, we're just gonna lay everything out. So you're gonna have a pair of the front rain guards and then there's gonna be a pair of the rear rain guards, and you're gonna have this included tool too. Now we already have the passenger side installed, so I'll show you how to install the driver's side. So you're gonna have to lower your windows just about halfway, and then you start putting these in.
And the way you wanna do is make sure you have the right one and it should match up the contours of your window. If it does, you know you're on the right path. Then we're gonna line up this tab here with this channel in here, right behind these weather strips, sliding it right into place until everything's lined up. Then when I come on to the other end, right here I'm gonna bend this just slightly until this sticks behind that weather strip and make sure everything is seating properly. I'm gonna grab this included tool, and with it hooked in, we're gonna run this through, making sure everything's seating properly, nothing's getting caught.
And you're just gonna do this a few times, just to make sure you get a good fit. And for the next step, I recommend grabbing a friend. Today we've got Evangeline helping us out, and what she's gonna do is roll up the window just lightly, just doing it very slowly as I'm gonna apply pressure to our rain guard, making sure it sits well. And after when you have it all the way up there, you can repeat this a couple times just to make sure you have a good fit. And our rear rain guard is only be a very similar process. We're just gonna stick it in by one end first, tilt it in an angle, and slide it in just like so, making sure we get under those weather strips until it gets lined up at the top and everything's seating properly. Now I'm gonna move on to the rear rain guards. And really the only difference is we're gonna have these two strips right here, and these strips, if you pull them off, you'll have an adhesive underneath here so it sticks into place. So make sure you take those off. We're not gonna take them off since this is just for demonstration purposes, but we're just gonna put this in at an angle like I'm doing right now, and then line it up with this channel underneath that weather strip. And then apply pressure. It might bend a little bit, but these do have a little bit of flex to them until everything's lined up and sitting underneath all the weather strips. And again, you'll just run your tool through underneath here again, and afterwards you'll roll up your window very slowly while applying pressure to your rain guard. And after, when it's all the way up there, you just repeat this a couple times, and then you should be good. And my final recommendation is just rolling up your windows all the way and just having it sit like this for a day, so these rain guards can really form and fit to the shape of your windows. But after that, that'll complete the installation and some of the features of our WeatherTech Rain Guards on our 2021 Toyota RAV4.
