Thank you I was searching for solid reviews on why to get them installed and you knocked it out of the park for me. I usually car camp and I like having my windows cracked when I sleep.
I've used the stick on ones for years on several different vehicles and never damaged the paint. I see the big advantage with these being easy installation and better looks. But I'm not convinced they'll be more secure.
Well if you like the stick on ones then stick with them. I haven't had much luck with the stick on ones myself. The only downside of these for me has been a slight amount of wind noise as the windows don't make as good if a seal when closed. Have a blessed day!
i actually just got mine in today, i didn't receive the red tool, just the front deflectors i ordered and that's it. everything seems to be fine but they catch just slightly on the windows as they go up, nothing to freak out about but did i do something wrong putting them in my truck?
If they don't send you the red tool then it probably wasn't needed for your setup. Personally I don't think it's a big deal if they catch a little bit as long as they're not damaging your windows. I've had several sets and some of them do sometimes seem to catch a little bit. Enjoy your deflectors! God bless!
Just tried putting these on my Kona. It was probably the most frustrating thing I've done in a while. Those dang clips for the rear windows simply would not work. They kept popping out and didn't seem to fit right. After an hour I gave up.
Sorry about that. 😥 if you live in TN come by and I'll try to help. Maybe try calling the company and see if they have any tips??? We love the Kona btw. Very cool looking car We were seriously thinking of getting one. God bless.
@@diyamerican Thank you for responding and offering to help!!! Unfortunately I live in TX not TN 😪 otherwise I would take you up on that offer. Will contact them tomorrow and go from there. The 2022 Kona Limited is a solid car love it!!! Have a great Thanksgiving and a merry Christmas!!!
Some models of cars don't need the tape. If yours didn't come with the tape then I would assume your car doesn't need it. If you want to be sure you may want to call WeatherTech and verify.
Hello awesome video, considering getting these for my 2020 Honda Fit and I wanted to know the process of removing them and if it is difficult to remove them? I have a lease so want to make sure I return the car in good shape
My fronts came with a little clear tape on the front edge that you are supposed to have on the lip of the window by the mirror is that tape for packaging or does it need to be left on?
Bummer. Yeah it sounds like other people have had issues with the clips. I sure hope weathertech develops a better system that works for everyone. The Kona is a sweet car! We were actually looking at those but we wanted something that was big enough to sleep in.
Hi Michael! Yes! It is still super secure. I was so pleased with these I bought another set for my truck. When I bought my truck it had the ones with the adhesive that you stick to the outside and the truck is now over 10 years old and I don't know when the original owner stuck them on but they look really crappy and the adhesive is coming off and it's going to be a big mess to clean them off. I would never buy the exterior stick on ones! These ones are awesome and they look fantastic! Thanks for stopping by our channel! God bless!
I’m having an issue with my Honda on the back ones.. I can’t get the clip positioned correctly and when I roll the window up the clip starts to scratch against the tint. Any tips?
Have you tried seeing if they will stay in without the clips? That's the only thing I can think to suggest. You may want to reach out to WeatherTech themselves to see if they have any solutions. Best of luck!
@@diyamerican yes, they don’t stay up without them unfortunately! WeatherTech just keeps saying we are doing it wrong so just a little frustrated. We’ve watched so many videos!. I have a “double-walled” trim piece that doesn’t separate where you have to put the little hook into and would really like to be able to use them but it’s just not working with them. Real bummer. Thanks anyway!
If your windows are rolled down while you're driving then you may get some noise but other than that I don't think you should get any type of screeching at least that hasn't been our experience.
