It is wicked that you did all this! I really would love to see some driving videos and reactions though. Its a LOT of power and I think there has to be some driving / reaction clips to let that affect be known!

You’re the man. Great video. For comparison, my ‘22 made 390/390 (capped for safety) on the Felix dyno with the stock turbo, but that was with e40 and FBO. That ETS turbo seems like a legit upgrade!

What did you make on pump? That would be the real comparison on how much of an upgrade this is. I’ll be getting and ethanol tune eventually

@@JoeyMontalto no idea, I put this car on e30 when it had 700 miles on the ODO. Not sure if you’ve ever owned a turbo Subie before, but tuning a boxer without any ethanol is a dangerous game. I would go to at least e30 in your car and just lower the boost until you upgrade the head studs and gasket. Only takes one bad tank of 93 to overcome the Accessport’s ability to pull timing fast enough to keep things safe. Even e30 gives you like 5x knock protection compared to pump gas.

I’m waiting to pull the engine. I would rather swap blocks when IAG releases their fa24 shortblocks. And headstud that block and transfer my heads over. For fueling I’m waiting for an upgraded hpfp and injectors from nostrum. Hopefully a well thought out port injection comes out that can work with the Cobb software.

@JoeyMontalto hpfp and injectors wont do it for your turbo. Maybe for smallest turbo but you need proper pi solution to take advantage of yours fully. Additionally, there is no time to iniect all the fuel via di injectors so even IF you could deliver enough, you need 2nd injector to inject the extra fuel needed.

We really need Cobb to release a flexfuel kit, I personally have been bugging Radium for a fuel hanger so we can also drop a proper sized pump with flex and convert it to return style fuel system. Its a hurry up and wait. IAG also said they aren't ready for customer testing so that is also a set back.

Thats some awesome power, a tonne of fun to drive and sounds awesome! Street pulls next vid. Thanks for the honest and in depth review. I Dynod 310+412tqe , was a warm summer day 36deg C, so maybe a 320ish in cooler months. Interesting thing was I have the ets intake , the car preferred to run with the sleeve in, tuner said turbo was getting to much air with sleeve removed ( anyone else heard this before) . Other mods are turbo back exhaust, tmic Cobb, ets charge pipe, turbo smart plumb back . Pump gas..

Hi Joey, thanks for your videos. I have a question, why you choose G30-900 and not G30-770?; ETS recommends the G30-770. Please let me know because I will buy a kit for my 2025 WRX. Thanks in advance.

This is great content. Honestly I'm kinda bummed about those numbers though. From what I've seen on forums and social media people are hitting 400hp/trq with E85, J-Pipe, and a tune. Was this just a really safe tune or what? I saw you mentioned in the comments that 20 psi is basically the limit on 93. Why is that? I'm not at all being rude I'm just trying to figure out the best route to 400hp. The E85 way would appear to be the cheapest way to that goal without having to spend an additional 6K-7K. I was expecting at least 500hp after a tune but I don't know the specifics on what's holding it back. Thanks for sharing this video I love your content.

It's hard to compare dyno numbers from different dynos, as in we really shouldn't do it. What one car hits on one vs any other can vary quite a bit, from a multitude of factors. Even on the same dyno, it can vary from day to day based on the weather so really we should all take all these numbers with a grain of salt. I'm not saying his car isn't 400 wheel either, but it's likely plus or minus that by 20hp or more on different dynos or in warmer weather. So that being said, I don't doubt that these other cars are hitting in the same ballpark with e85 and essentially full bolt ons. Why? e85 is called that because it's 85% ethanol(alcohol) and ethanol has a higher octane rating at 108. 108 vs 93 octane will let you run a good bit more timing and that's where pretty much all the power comes from on any car using e85.

Head studs is the limit.. pushing anymore risks lifting the head and he is also waiting on the flex fuel kit to run e85.. he is making 400whp on pump 93.. stock turbo requires e85 to hit that number

You put too much weight on the actual number.. it doesn’t mean anything. Most numbers you see online aren’t even from a real dyno but from software programs. A 350whp car can be faster than a 400whp car. 1/4 mi Trap speeds and 60-130 times are a lot better indicator of power

He bought too big a turbo, imo. But he needs engine work before going further as well as more fuel. Id buy the smallest garret kit or oem hybrid for wider powerband but less max whp.

Wouldnt the numbers mean more at a 1:1 gear ratio? Also the turbo kit is badass and PRICEY, id personally would have wanted a higher number on a 1:1 ratio pull.

3rd gear is not 1-1. 4th gear is 1-1 ratio. It did not like 4th on the dyno so we did the runs in 3rd. After spending all that money on the turbo kit the last thing I want is to pop the motor. This is a nice safe tune I can beat on the car and enjoy. Once we have a flex fuel kit I can turn it up more and enjoy it at the next power level. With my setup to make more power all I need to do it turn it up. I don’t need to buy anything else to turn it up. I choose not to currently. Once we have an IAG shortblocks available I can swap in the new block and make what ever power I want on the same setup.

Dont you need arp studs or engine work to go further. Flex kit isnt it. If you had fuel and arp studs you could turn it up now. Am i wrong?

⁠@@stock.cars.2nedI like playing it safe. I don’t like mixing at the gas station so I want a flex tune not 2 separate tunes for e and 93. I could easily turn it up more on e85. Also on e85 they can make the turbo spool faster. A stock turbo car cannot make 500 whp with any combo of parts. Too much to educate in a reply but I will need more than engine work to max out the turbo.

You will still have to mix with flex kit friend. And after so many of these mixes, you will have it down to Xgal of e85 + Xgal of 91oct equals what you need on a 1/4 tank left. (example) @@JoeyMontalto Flex kit wont magically transform e83% into 50% needed UNLESS you mix proper amount of 91 or 93oct. This is the biggest misconception ppl have about flex kits.

@@bobforpplesto run the ets kit you will need their fmic kit. I'm running the 3.5" fmic core. You can pick a Catback of your choice. There are no fueling mods. I did do an STi Trans swap last year. Full swap is on my channel if you want that parts list and price breakdown. I made a playlist for the swap. Not required but it's piece of mind now the trans is super solid.

You can always push the limit for more power. You can run more boost but the engine would be at risk. It’s nice and safe at this level for a stock engine

That shit is spooling late man, 2000rpm of workable powerband unless you work the heads and add rpm. Dyno at 6:44. Using two different logs for VD and Dynojet and you did not confirm you input SAME weight and tire size as Dynojet operator. WRX gearing changed to STI gearing in VD?

Once you’re in boost it stays spooled up when shifting. Full boost at 4k rpm and redline is 7k.

@@stock.cars.2ned​​⁠if you’ve driven a big turbo car you know you need to be in the right gear if you want to move out. A 40 roll in 2nd gear is like 4k rpm. When I step on the gas at 4k rpm it spools up very fast. It’s a dual ball bearing turbo it will spool quick if you know how to drive a big turbo car. Everyone knows you can’t lug a big turbo car. If you go wot at 2500 rpm yes you will be waiting some time for it to spool up.

I have and it is not for me. If i were racing and staying 4500+ rpm all the time then yes. But id rather have the spool 1000rpm earlier and have 150-200wtq over big turbo setup at 3000-4000rpm. This is my daily and not a track car.

@JoeyMontalto Just run dual map lol No need for the added cost when you can just switch back and forth anytime you're empty. Regular gas is e10 anyways so as long as you're low enough on gas it will dilute. The fuel in the rail and line is sent back to the tank before you even start the car.

Except my turbo setup caps out at 900. 400+whp 93 pump gas is nice and safe. I can always turn it up more without changing any parts. I just choose not too pop the stock motor when there aren’t even built blocks available yet.
