This is once again peak UI design. You have to select 'disabled' to active the function... Thanks for clearing it up! Appreciate the quick and informative video.
It is pretty poor labelling that the lane assist options in Gameplay refer to always-on lane departure avoidance features, and the lane assist option in Controls refers to an entirely separate toggle-able lane keeping assist.
Very instructive video! I did not even know that this was a new feature introduced with v1.50!! I discovered it by chance, and started gathering infos on the internet, when I stumbled into this very video of yours! Again, thank you!! Happy trucking and, although on the wrong side of the road, drive safe! (Kidding, eh!? Just kidding! I am italian, unfortunately (!!), and love to drive on the left side in ETS2 when I travel to England - which I do whenever possible! It reminds me of when I was a kid and the bus did so when driving me to school to Summertown in Oxford! Such lovely memories!)
@@TiJayFLY That's a very strange way to order the list, newest to oldest except the very newest which is last. Thanks for that, I'd have been stuck waiting for it to leave experimental without that clue :)
Thanks for sharing amazing stuff. If you've been sitting for too long, you can briefly stretch on the gaming chair or interact with other players on the chat system while the lane assist takes control.
Hi I just tried this and it seems to work, but it doesn't turn sharp enough. The turning of the steering wheel is much too slow, am I doing something wrong?
this is what i've been waiting for years! in ets2 the autopilot, i mean literally now i can eat in peace while my truck drives alone, and more in truckersmp which is what i play the most because i like the multiplayer.
isn't the fun of driving a sim the driving ? what's next full autopilot ? just put your destination in and go cut the lawn and come back and watch it auto park too..?
I can define 2 shortcuts for both the lane assist and the lane assist mode, but the mode does not seem to work?! Only when setting the mode in option i see some effect.
I thought it only had a function to return it to prevent it from simply departure, but does it also keep it lane centered actively without having to install any other mods??
Guys I found out why. It only Works when you have selectet "gamepad, Joystick" in the steering settings and it does not work when you have selected "Steering wheel"
That makes sense as keyboard input only sends commands when pressed, whereas the mouse is constantly reporting position (and overriding it). I wonder if there’s a way SCS can ignore the mouse while it’s activated.
@@dxutube check on ETS-specific forums etc how to make it work with your type of controller. Gamepad and mouse need additional config IIRC but that’s beyond the scope of this channel.
Good news! As of the 1.50 update, Lane Assist has been added to ATS :D. That means I can now let my truck cruise at 80mph unattended! What could go wrong
