Just seeing you drive in Eire brings bak memories from my trip there in 1999. When it come to speed limits follow the one your GPS says as that is accurate for the truck and especially in UK as they use mph and not Kph. Think the reason you were taken on that little lops at Fishguard was to weigh at the scales before then boarding the Ferry. Yep watch them buses :P Great videos and nice to see the work PM has done.
The mph and kph is definitely what's going on, another viewer commented on that. That clears up that mystery. :) And yeah, I think this is going to be really fun. Can't wait for Northern Ireland and then Iceland. :)
@@ZillaBlitzPC Actually because Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom stuff has to be weighed because it is more like a border crossing. what you should have done is go from Germany to denmark then you would be able to iceland from there. then go to the faroe islands and to scottland of the UK then to Northern Ireland circumnavigate the island and return to scotland and finland wales and england
I've been on a pretty decent parking run, to be fair, but I think I've gotten some easy ones, and a few where they are scoring me as "parked" when I'm really only barely in the green. :)
I think the strange speed limits might actually be one of the things that's a fault of Promods, because I just installed it yesterday myself and I found myself constantly feeling like the speed limits changed really weirdly - there would be moments where the road would go from 80km/hr to 50km/hr for like 10 metres and then change back to 80 again for seemingly no reason (the entire time we seemed to be on a motorway). Admittedly I'm new to ETS2 as a whole so maybe it's the base game and I just hadn't gone down those particular roads before, but I don't recall ever having the weird speed limit thing happen in the base game in my limited time playing it before installing Promods.
I've always felt the speed limits were wonky like that in the Beyond the Baltic Sea and Road to the Black Sea too. But yes, it can definitely catch you off guard if you're not paying attention. And I'm not usually paying attention. :)
OK, speaking in generalizations and NOT anything specific about this game or mods, BUT things that come into play are the 'Mythical Man Year' for the actual game maker, vs the relentless passion for the modder. The company may have more overall resources, but how many people actually work on ONE section of a map? So the company might assign just one person to do Wales, even though they could have 10 people making maps. So that's a tie for the company vs modder. Then the modder 'usually' will work longer on it--it will consume him, vs a dev working 8 hours. It's more a norm, vs 'crunch time' which may make the dev resentful and not as overall productive. Devs have tools--but they may not actually be as good as what the modder has cobbled together around whatever resources the company made public. Now of course, BAD mods just don't get hyped or passed-on as recommendations to other players, so we are talking about good modders...but there are many cases where a mod has redfined a game and eventually become an integral part of it.
Yes, these are some great points, I guess I just expected the modders to have less resources to work with, but it sure seems like they've done some amazing things.
Another thing to consider, especially with a game such as E/ATS the devs are working to make the game playable on as many systems as possible. For example, pro mods is incredible, and I love having it in my game, but I don't have it on my convoy profile because a couple of my friends have PCs that just cannot handle all that extra CPU and RAM usage. You just have to look at the feedback on ATS to see how many are already complaining that the newer DLCs are causing their frame rates to crash and demanding that SCS update their system requirements on steam to reflect how intensive the game is becoming to run. Modders don't have any of those considerations, they're free to go wild with what they create.
Another great episode. Not going to try to comment on the video because not sure how much I missed. Took 3 hours to watch it with all the interruptions....lol. Be blessed
Welcome to Ireland! Disappointed not to see you trying to drive through the centre of Wexford, a medieval town with very narrow streets. Wisely avoided. You may have noted that the place names on signs are all bilingual, English and Irish. Regarding driving in the UK, remember the speed limits there are all in mph not kph, thus your lack of speeding offences 😢. regards, G
Oh, that would have been cool. Bummed we missed the medieval part of town. Maybe we'll get back at some point on the return trip. And that definitely explains the speeding issue, thanks! I didn't make the connection between mph signs and our speedometer being in kilometers! Brilliant!
Great video but I was trying not to rip my hair out when you were cruising in the inside lane lol (It's illegal btw, you're supposed to keep left unless overtaking)
Yes, I think I talk about that in one of the videos and adjust later. The left-side-of-the-road driving had me wondering a bit. To be fair, though, sometimes I'll stay in that inside lane in the game unless I'm blocking traffic. :)
Hi just wanted to ask, in the game if it says a delivery will take 8 hours, is it 8 hours in real time or is it shorter in game, thank you love the videos
Happy to help. The game time has 2 scales, 19 to 1 when on highways, and 3 to 1 when in cities or gas stations, etc. So on the highway an hour of delivery driving will take slightly more than 3 minutes. Generally for me a 6-hour drive will take me about 30 minutes in real time, counting backing up, etc. But that can vary depending on how much city driving there is on a particular route, etc. Hope this helps!
Hi zilla great episode I have a question for about 1000 km challenge in different make of truck a friend of mine has got the mod that adds the ford truck is the ford truck included on challenge thanks
I've followed your lead, got ProMods and started a new career. Very impressed so far. Amazing expansion. If you want to see a challenging real life roundabout (rotary), do an image search for "Magic Roundabout -Swindon" it will blow your mind. You still need to try the new active cruise control, I find it really helpful. Really enjoying the new content.
Did they make changes to that Swindon roundabout? I found an article that said they made it safer about 3 years ago? It looks kind of gnarly, but not that wild any more, perhaps? I mean, it's still a pretty ambitious roundabout, for sure. And yes, I was just thinking about the adaptive cruise control as I flicked on the cruise control in this episode. I think it's a different keystroke, I'll explore. :)
@@ZillaBlitzPC I'm not sure if they've changed the magic roundabout but they certainly needed to. Five mini roundabouts alk linked...madness. I think you do need to set a separate key for active cruise. I think on my keyboard cruise is "c" and active cruise is "m"
I think they have, then, perhaps changed it. The current image looks like one big roundabout, and there are stories about them redoing the area from a couple of years back. :) And thanks on the keystroke. I've remapped a few of mine so I have no idea what craziness might happen if I press "m", but I'll check and give it a shot. :)
@@ZillaBlitzPC can you see the old layout? 5 roundabouts linked in a pentagon? Madness. I sometimes think there aren't enough keys on the keyboard for ETS2 and ATS
@@samcattell1150 I'll take a look for it. :) And yes, funny you should mention the keys thing. I JUST talked about that in the ATS episode I recorded just before I read this. :)
You are a right-lane hog!! On dual carriageways and motorways you should be in the leftmost lane possible when driving on the left. Other than that….good job! 😂
Here are Second Gear trucking, we take pride in our excellent driving record. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we will most definitely be following up with the driver in question. Our aim is perfection, and we settle for no lesss.
I don't really understand modding. I certainly wouldn't dedicate my life to supporting someone else's commercial product. On the other hand, I spend a lot of time painting miniatures for board games which a lot of people would prefer to not be bothered with. So I guess it's all about finding your own niche. I don't MIND that people create mods, I just don't understand why they do it. Then again, I'm not really interested in understanding it either, so there's that :). I am into wargames and I meet plenty of people who don't understand THAT and I am not particularly concerned with educating them. Again, a niche for everyone and everyone in their niche :).
I think that's what it really comes down to, a lot of people have creative passions that come out in a lot of different ways. For me, I really enjoy making videos about games, which I'm sure confuses a lot of people too. :)
