In this Euro Truck Simulator (ETS2) career episode, we deliver soy milk from Mannheim, Germany to Bern, Switzerland, getting our third delivery in the Trade Connections - Switzerland event, which celebrates the reworked and updated Switzerland in ETS2. After we drop off our deliver, we hunt for hidden roads in Bern.

I spotted the Bern hidden road in the same way that you did delivering to that particular customer. It worked out well since I had been debating weather or not to go out of my way to discover the recruitment agency on the way into Bern and had decided not to, so when the hidden road came out next to it and gave it to me that was quite good. There's a similar hidden road that goes through the heart of a city in over in the 1.50 California rework in American Truck Simulator, so that'll be worth looking for when you're back there.

You got liftable axle, maybe lifting it helps with the reversing. The start part of the hidden road was blocked to the left, but in the middle part there was some road to discover.

That has got to be one of my favorite hidden roads in either game, in base game or modded locations. it's just so cool to have a hidden road that winds through the middle of the city.

So you got the MAN TGX 8x4... driving a sister truck to the Scania you have, that's cool. And the lion motif for that color livery is so appropriate. And that hidden road in Bern... now I wish there is at least a similar one in ATS!

My choice for best brand is Volvo. I just love how they look inside and out, which is appreciated on long drives.

Good video. Scania & Volvo are the only brands to make trucks with above 700bhp. They keep trying to out-do each other. Volvo had a 700, then Scania launched a 730. Then Volvo a 750. Then Scania a 770. Recently Volvo announced a 780 😂. Think the Volvo 750 is most powerful in game although there are mods for 770 Scania. Choosing between these two Swedish brands is tough

Thanks! That's probably a good idea. A shifter would be a lot of fun. I've been saving up with Patreon funds to get a microphone, but now that I've got that perhaps the shifter is next. :)

That's easily my favourite hidden road in ETS2. Just brilliant. I don't think there is a another route on the road from when you started, I think I looked at that (although I might well not be remembering right!). One question I meant to ask on your ATS video. Was the hidden viewpoint you found in that one part of the achievement?

Yes, that road was really fun, and yep, I noticed in editing that the road I thought was an extension was actually blocked off. On the hidden viewpoint in Nebraska, it looks like it counts. My achievement status is 4/9, and there are nine viewpoints visible in NE, of which I've found 4. That includes the hidden one. :)

With the no roadblocks mod can you drive down the roads that have roadblocks? I just assumed the roads would end right away.

@@ZillaBlitzPC yep! You can go for quite a long time and then the map ends so just be careful not to fall off. Adds so much realism to the game though! I love it.

Um, in Bern, it was RED on YOUR lane, but yellow in the lane to your right. So that was a valid fine. Yeah, _I_ would have moved left to let that car in on the freeway, but you DID get done bad by getting the fine when HE ran into YOU! (He could have slowed more to make a clean merge.) Still that stopped the clean run. ;-p And I was pretty sure you ran a yellow into red before that but got away with it

Zürich: Exit the weigh station (south of the Stein Bruch, southeast of town) and turn left. Continue straight ahead onto the road that will take you to the "Viamala" viewpoint.

He does, I do believe, but 1.50 broke every mod so they had to take time to update. A couple of big ones still aren't out yet, but all the ones he had actively installed are out now.

Good news, Mike! ProMods, PMME, PMTGS, RusMap, and Beyond by TerraMaps are now all updated and (for the most part haha) working together! Some other great addons like Sud de France, Itarevamp, Heart of Africa, KirovMap, and SibirMap are also now updated. The big ones still missing are Java Road Revolution, VolgaMap, SRMap, Horn of Africa, and Maghreb Map, but all of the mods you were using and some of the bigger ones I recommended are now updated. I'm updating my mod lists as I type this.

Horn of Africa is updated now. Every mod that I usually use is now updated for ETS2 except SRMap, Volga Map, and Java Road Revolution. SRMap and JRR are being updated. Not sure about Volga Map. I'll be updating my online mod list soon. The order has changed slightly. I also removed Road Into Wilderness, because honestly... it's just many, many miles of roads that aren't really true to life with copy pasted cities. It's nice to have a road connection between Horn of Africa, Beyond (Road to Africa), and Heart of Africa, but it isn't really necessary. Ferries work fine. Hope you're well.

Just in case you want a reminder what you had planned in your modded saves, since it's been quite a long time, here's the notes haha: ETS2: Iceland hidden roads (I think there's 2?), then northern Norway and Svalbard. Also since you're currently in Iceland, you should definitely hop over to Greenland an check out the new city there. EDIT: Also there's a hidden road going under the English Channel you may want to look for. ATS: Homer, Alaska during the daylight haha, then ProMods Canada (Vancouver, and the hidden road in Bralorne).
