The regulation also covers devices that contain batteries. Further, the RoHS directive and EMC directive are likely applicable as well

Great stuff, is there anywhere I can find a list of harmonised standards to this regulation? I guess sodium ion batteries will fall under this regulation also?

Thank you! I don't think there is a list of harmonised standards yet. At least not when we published the article, but there should be one soon. I cannot comment on sodium ion batteries though.
