I think for the Papal States, you should do a reverse pentarchy by owning and full coring all the states that contain: Rome, Constantinople, Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem and converting them to catholic. And for some secondary goals conquer all of Italy including Sicily, and lastly forming the kingdom of god

At the time there were crusades that had the goal to take back the holy lands but instead they fought byzantium (if i'm not wrong). So as the pope you have to take constantinople and make it catholic and you have to conquer the holy lands and make them also catholic

As the Pope, become the "Kingdom of Goths" by forming the Kingdom of god and continue with conquering Gotland, Normandy plus Theodoro, then convert to Gothic culture. Should be a relaxed one

As Papal States, make The Holy Roman Empire holy, roman and an empire! Join the HRE, become the Emperor and culture convert as many of the historical HRE capitals to Umbrian culture. There's even an achievement for that so there's extra reason to go for it, Red! Also you don't need to travel across the world or do other insane things. Keep things local, as you asked ;)

Ah, The Papal States next? For years I wanted to do an aggressive battle pope campaign. Last year, I did a one faith with them. So satisfying. Never in a million year would that be my suggestion though.

Here’s a tricky one. As The Papal State, ensure that every nation on the great powers list is Catholic by only allying fellow catholics and seizing all of the holy cities and the holy land for the holy see.

For the Papal State you should make a "Deus Vault" and have 25k gold in your treasury. Or top of the score leaderboards in some economic thing, I dunno, I don't actually know all the different stuff it tracks.

I highly recommend playing New Providence and maybe a guide for the achievement. I've been through the same PAAAIN of Bermudas, just instead Portugal it was Spain. The only thing I had trouble the most ironically was gov cap, even with state houses in all provinces, I had so much land from Mexico and Brazil that I ended up playing above gov cap most of the run. Exploiting War against the World doctrice is key. Money is usually a problem before boosting gold from Mexico up to 10. One thing I didn't see you do there was bringing back the clergy and right away selling land/seizing land. Very easy money there. War against the world synergizes with Zealotry SOOO well too. And Privateer's way is a very zany reform, but if it's a run you deem possible, you don't need religious diplomats anymore. All diplo slots get free for you to force vassalize whomever you want. Coalitions are always a problem with pirates and the only thing I know that can help with that is opening different ways for expansion ASAP. Anyway, I think pirates to be one of the most funny govs to play in the game. Empires and Republics get repetitive pretty quickly IMO

I think as the Papal state going for all the provinces that are or were the holy see of another christian denomination: ownAntioch, Alexandria, Constantinople, Jerusalem, Toledo (Arianism), Yerevan (Armenian Orthodox, even if in the game they are coptic), Koceli (Chalcedonian), Erbil (Nestorianism) and Kent (Anglicanism, because of canterbury).
