In this video titled EU4 A to Z - The DUMBEST CHALLENGE I've EVER DONE I do a playthrough as Frankfurt Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Frankfurt , and I attempt to conquer the province of Los Angeles. So let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. Scots is a (pretty much dead) lowland Scottish language in the Anglic family that is indeed related to English, distinct from Scottish Gaelic which is a primarily highland language from the Goidelic language family and related most closely to Irish Gaelic and Manx.

Funfact: In Bavaria we say „Wiener“ to the sausage, and in Austria (in the parts I have visited; Salzburger Land and Tirol) they say „Frankfurter“. If you order „Wiener“ you will most likely get a Schnitzel in Austria.😅

First of all i can confirm they are called "Frankfurter" all over Austria. Secondly i want to add that the confusion allegedly comes from an butcher from Frankfurt who sold this type of sausage in vienna.

Did you disable the El Dorado DLC? I checked the wiki, it looks like that DLC allows ships exploring to be immune to naval attrition. Otherwise, ships follow normal attrition rules. With normal rules, an explorer greatly reduces the chance of receiving attrition from navigation. It is also possible that you are running out of sailors, which causes unavoidable attrition. I tried to track your sailor count in the vid to see if this happened, but I didn't notice it, which is why I put this possibility second.

I think you are right about the sailors! He only had a single coastal province, probably isn’t enough to feed three light ships.

Yes I guess you are right. According to wiki "If a nation owns at least one coastal province, sailors have a minimum recovery rate of 5 sailors per month" and 3 light ships are using between 3-9 sailors per month.

well, when he noticed that his ships were dying for the second time, he was looking around an had almost 500 sailors. so i think he had enough sailors stocked up to supply his boats for a while there.

As a Frisian I can suggest: restore the Frisian kingdom (and the Magna Frisia borders!) Also, the Frisian Freedom (Fryske Frijheid) in the HRE was guaranteed by the emperor. So maybe you should become HRE emperor and guarantee Austria instead. Basically similar as the auld alliance. ;)

Hi there! As someone from Vienna: we call the sausage "Frankfurter", it's the Germans who call them "Wiener". My favorite dad joke to pull on German customers is to say "here I am" when they order a "Wiener" ("Viennese"). I think the sausage's origin story is that a Viennese butcher invented it, but he did so while living in Frankfurt. Not entirely sure on that though.

Friesland is the land of Fries, but some silly people think they should be called chips. Conquer the province of xoCHIPillan (the only province I could find that had "chip" in it that wasn't an archipelago). This province is in modern day Mexico in the state of Zacatecas area. Do you want Fries with that is just a way those fast food restaurants get you to go bankrupt, and chasing those chips may cause bankruptcy.

There’s actually an achievement for Friesland (well technically Frisia but same thing) in CK2 called “The Frisian Coast Is Long” where you conquer the entire Continental North Atlantic European coast from the tip of Brittany to Jutland. How about that but in EU4?

"Landshut" in German is pronounced like "Lance-hout". You need to pronounce the "a" like a British (not American!): "Lands" is pronounced short and with a British "a". "hut" is as well pronounced short but not like in American "hut" but rather "ou" in "Uber". So in the end you say "Lan-ds-h-ou-t". Or just use Google Translator and it will show you. It is quite complicated to teach German pronunciation with English letters.

16:47 it's still not lands-hut like pizza hut, it's lands-hoot, the u in german is pronounced like double o's in english. For that matter it's not lænds-hoot either like the english pronounciation of land, it's lands-hoot with a proper a like in father.

Friesland, or Frisia was home to one of the Germanic tribes who colonized England after the Romans left (together with the Anglen, Saxons and Jutten). And Frisia was once owned by a Viking, much like Rollo owned Normandy. So perhaps we can restore greater Frisia and get England, Denmark (it's where Godfried, he who controlled Frisia was from) and all of the German land between Frisia and Denmark (still home to people with a similar language to that of Frisian)

A bug I've had in the past with exploring is if the explorer dies at sea the ships will just float there and attrition to death, I think it's been patched though

There's an ck2 chivement: "The Frisian Coast is Long". Why not recreate it in Eu4? :) And maybe Bump it a bit? Call it "Friesland Cost is even Longer". Starting as Friesland: Get and core Every coastal province from Giblartar to Neva... this will require conquesting provinces from: HRE, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmak, Teutonic Order (if they still exists, if not -> Poland/Danzig), Lithuania, Livonian Order and Novogrod (or Muscovy) sounds like good cursed goal :D

Funny story about the Sausage in question. While there is a protected term "Frankfurter Würstchen" (Frankfurter sausage) for this specific sausage, which can only be used if it was produced in or around Frankfurt, in Germany this type of sausage is most commonly refered to as "Wiener Würstchen" or "Wienerle", while in Austria it is most commonly refered to as "Frankfurter" (even if they were not produced in Frankfurt). Probably because no one wants to be called a sausage. TL&DR: Germans call the Sausage "Wienerle" while Austrians call it "Frankfurter" in a kind of weird opposite day way.

wienners are form wien and frankfurter are from frankfurt, they different most parts of germany (down to city level in some cases) have their own beer, bread and sausage, these used to be thing you would have on the table with your food, more part of the talbe than part of your meal the ones closest to your hotdogs are the spreewalder from brandenburg and none of these smoth texure ones have any claim to be the first at anything
