Going Aden->Hormuz->Basra->Persia->Aleppo->Alexandria->Constantinople->Ragusa->Wien->Saxony->Rheinland->Lübeck->Channel Gives more jumps, with RNW I was able to get 9 trade steerings from Philippines to Australia and 33 total steerings

You could make such a big army with this

with the installment of common sense, they were supposed to solve the issue where you could grow tall instead of wide, i.e. build up provinces instead of taking more land. But it's still IMO the same game, you need to take land if you want to be a superpower. your example is extreme, but makes the point.

well I've conquered half of North America and Africa as Venice (and several other countries which you'd think it'd be impossible to conquer anything with, and also some average/op ones like Russia, Ottomans and Austria) yet I have not managed to do anything this impressive. Good job, man.

In other words, if people wanted access to the oceans, they had to go through you : P My current play through is sort of similar, i started of as a custom nation in-between Portugal and Aragon... went straight south took morroco, kept crippling tunis(ia?) Went further south and took the ivory coast, took exploration ideas, became the papal ruler, started colonies in north america and canada So I have (A papal declared land) Mexico, louisiana, another colony on the east coast, and canada (Which was promised to norway) Thats why i needed to be the papal leader : P I also have a colony in south america (Promised to brittany and I took it by force) The spice islands and western Australia.... Then i took Portugal and all its colonies, allied aragon after taking some of its land (That took a while) Then England, Scotland, vassaled Ireland, after which i crippled France..... Each subject colonial nation with 10 provinces give you a free merchant... I have 11 so far from Ideas and these colonies... its 1720 and im expanding everywhere.... First time i had ever really understood the trading mechanic, and man it is great... I have made the papal state Austria and Bohemia not fight the entire game, or..... kept it at a minimum..... All of which are my allies.... We randomly declare war on the ottomen empire and we just annihilate them.... Global conquest has never been so easy... TL:DR I own The English channel, 70% of the North Sea Bordeaux(Is that spelled right?) is mine All of Safi, 90 percent of sevilla The ivory coast Timbuktu The Caribean and the list goes on getting 273 gold per month from trade alone...

Cool. Can't remember all OPman events, but I think Gurjat ideas are even better (best in the game for trade afaik). I'm currently playing as Rewa Kantha (only Gurjat nation with government that allows forming Republic, or at least I couldn't be bothered to check if I could/bothered to actually do change with Gurjat or Katiwahar as they start with Iqta/Tribal), gonna do a semi-tall MR run for fun. Playing big nations is boring. (Edit: After 2000+ hours, it is) Also, it's debateable whether those policies are THE best, but they're certainly among the top 7-8 or so. And why quantity? Idk what you're going for there but Aristocratic gives more than enough manpower boost. And there is or was an achievement to have both aristo and pluto I believe.

How can you spend that money? Only on army and advisors? I know that technology in EU4 is done with monarch points instead of money. Wouldn't the best way be to make a hugeass army and start conquering like crazy despite the overextenion (army can deal with it)?

How did you core all thoose provinces ? Even with otto idea and admin idea, thoose provinces should cost lots of paper points.
