Eufy Home Security Alarm 5 Pc. Kit Review - Unboxing, Features, Setup, Install & Testing

Today, we are going to check and test out Eufy's Home Security 5 pc. Alarm Kit. This kit comes with the HomeBase 2, Keypad, Entry Sensors (2) and a Motion Sensor. We will do the unboxing, set it up, do the installation and test it and see if this Home Alarm system is a good option for your home.
Also, note that if you already have Eufy's battery powered cameras like the Eufy Cam 2 and the 2C which comes with the HomeBase 2 and even the Eufy Cam E which comes with HomeBase, you don't need to get this kit. Just buy the sensors and the keypad separately which I will also link down below.
Another note.. this is not a full featured alarm system like the Ring alarm or Simplisafe. There is no professional monitoring... you have to do the monitoring yourself. You will get notifications when the alarm gets triggered and you will be the one responsible to call the police or whatever you need to do to protect your property. It doesn't have backup battery power or cellular backup just in case of power or internet failure. This system relies on internet / WiFi.

I have this system and like it a lot. One of its best features is that it is very customizable. And since I already owned three eufyCam E cameras and the homebase, all I had to buy was the keypad and door and window sensors. Thanks for the review.
@chrissampson7569

I also have this system and like it. I have it connected to the Homebase E -- which is way louder than the Homebase 2. I have an automation set so if the door sensors are breached, it not only triggers the Homebase alarm but also the 4 outdoor cam alarms. All combined it's annoyingly loud.

@@LifeHackster Just spotted your note in the video. The reason you don’t want to put those stickers up is because it highlights what system you have installed and allows would be intruders to exploit and flaws in the system that you have installed. For example in this case WiFi only connections can be interrupted with the use of something like air Marshall effectively stopping associated cameras from working

Eufy now offers 24/7 monitoring like Simplisafe and Ring. Can you do a new updated video comparing Eufy with their Homebase 3 against Ring Pro as they now both offer 24/7 monitoring that can call the authorities if needed? I'm really looking for the best security system that works with Alexa. And it seems to be these two, Ring and Eufy.

Hey, I am about to receive the Eufy security system and I had a question. Does the door sensor have to be perfectly aligned and very close to one another? My door has a gap between the door jamb and the actual door. The Eufy site says 1 1/2 is the max, is this true?

I've been trying to find reviews for this system, thanks. I'm looking to revamp my home security as my system has just about been merged out of existence. I'm happy enough self-monitoring as I don't like the idea of paying in perpetuity for a system that'll maybe never have an actual alert. I've had my self-monitored system and have had one actual alert in seven years...

Not putting sign publicly to not let other knows which type of security system is installed (and especially in this case that it's eufy and that is self monitored :) ) By knowing that adversaries can look for methods to trick them and by seeing the alarm sign know that there are valuable things stored at home.

I have the Homebase E and Homebase 2. The Homebase 2 is loud but the Homebase E is louder. But when both alarms sound at the same time, they are very loud and combined with my outside camera alarms, even louder. So, one Homebase may not be able to get anyone's attention outside the home, any outside camera alarms certainly can.

Is there (or will there be) a way to make your phone have an alarm instead of just a notification when motion is detected? Its pretty easy to not hear a notification that only sounds for a second so it would be handy to have an option to have your phone go into an alarm that continues to sound until you pick up the phone and cancel it.
@erictoth6571
@erictoth6571 3 года назад
hopefully first one to answer hidden question: you don’t want a possible threat to know how they can bypass your alarm system, and whether or not there is monitoring. For Simplisafe one can just use a signal interrupter and the alarm system wouldn’t know if it is opened. that’s why you don’t use the simplisafe decal.

So no one has done a video yet that I have seen on the Eufy home security 5 piece system plus cameras as far as integration and what you can do with them together. What are the routines you can do with alexa? Also is there a way for you to see all your eufy cams at the same time like wyze? I have eufy 2k indoor cams and a bunch of wyze cams as I started with wyze. But then I have RING's 5 piece kit. I am trying to see the best option for me so I can just have one eco system and not 3. I love wyze but I love eufy's clarity in both visuals and audio. Any thoughts?

Hi I've purchased a Eufy Homebase 3 with two entry sensors, two motion sensors and a key pad to use as a home security alarm system. In your video you describe the Eufy security alarm as having " whole home coverage" and I upgraded to the Homebase 3 because I'd read that it had a longer connection range to the sensors than the Homebase 2. Unfortunately I've found that the sensors will only connect if they're within approximately six feet and in a direct line of sight of the Homebase and the keypad will only connect if it's even closer. My front and back doors are in the same room only 16 feet apart but the Homebase won't connect reliably with both sensors at the same time and definitely won't connect if the sensors are in different rooms. I've been emailing with Eufy support but they suggest that to fix this problem I need to move the Homebase even closer to the sensors even though they also say that the connection range should be 20 to thirty feet. Can you please tell me what the connection range should be between the Homebase and the sensors and keypad and should the sensors be able to connect if they are in a different room to the Homebase.

Hey Lifehackster. Of all the outdoor wireless cameras, I've chosen Eufy, however, I can't make up my mind on which one to buy. I want a wireless Eufy outdoor camera. Which one do you recommend? Eufy Cam2, Cam2 Pro, Cam2C, CamE? Did I forget one?

Would this be your top choice for an alarm system integrating only indoor cameras? Given that the indoor pan can't be integrated with it, is there another option out there that does integrate indoor cameras? (I saw on another video that you don't use Ring Alarm indoors)

Also I don't know why eufy sensors are so expensive compared with RING which was my choice, Black friday I got a set with 8 door sensors and more things for $199. I have so many eufy camera and I would like to have it all in one eco system but price is the big deal for me. I would like to know why is so expensive and why they never lower the price even on holidays. All those referral crap worth nothing!

First of all thank you so much for your detailed video. I do have a quick question / issue on Homebase2 connection to my router. I do have tp-link Deco X20 mesh system, when I try to connect my homebase2 with the internet , it has blue blinking light only and then I could see error message "Network Exception, please try again later." With an error screen titled "Unable to add HoemBase2". Could you please help me out? I tried everything reset, unplug power cable, router restart, reset button on homebase2 but it just keep blinking blue led. Help would be highly appreciated 🙏🏼

Thank you for your information. I would like to know please, What's the difference between the Homebase 2 and other Homebase's? Also If i have the door camera with Homebase, Can i use it with the alarm system and indoor camera?
@chrissampson7569
@chrissampson7569 3 года назад
Besides the difference in size, the Homebase E can use a micro SD card (up to 128GB, I think) for local storage whereas the Homebase 2 has an internal built-in 16GB storage. The Homebase E has AI facial recognition software for cameras that support it and battery backup. The Homebase 2 lacks those features. I am assuming by door camera, you mean the doorbell camera? If so, then yes the camera can trigger the Homebase alarm; in fact any outdoor Eufy camera can. As far as the indoor camera, unfortunately no, it does not integrate with any Homebase, but they have their own built-in alarms and can even be triggered in the app. That is the only negative thing about the system I don't like, but supposedly Eufy/Anker is working on being able to integrate indoor cameras with the Homebases.

Hi, I follow you on your RU-vid videos you’re the perfect guy when you’re talking about the products but my opinion on the Eufy security system I really think it needs a glass shatter sensor, I hope I said the correct word for that device but other than that I have the security cameras now but I’m waiting for the security system that I ordered. Peace out keep up the good work Please let me know what you think about the glass shattered system

Just don’t put the sticker on the outside of your home, since the intruder can find a way to defeat the system easily.

What happens if you have sensors on the windows but want to open a window in the middle of the night while the alarm is set?
@misstubbie1313
@misstubbie1313 2 года назад
You can set custom modes. Like a Nighttime mode that arms the access doors sensors only but not your window or your indoor motion sensors in case you get up in the middle of the night or something

Hi! Im planing to install this system at a beach house in South America, but i wonder if i can set this up from my phone with a dedicated account and then a relative can have access to all the devices i setup in the app and its settings from his phone with the same dedicated account while being abroad. So basically do the app sync all data so it can be accessed from different mobile devices to be able to control the Alarm system?
