Unfortunately there isn’t an app for desktop but you can go to mysecurity.eufylife.com/#/login and you can view your cams online. I think you may or may not need a subscription I can’t remember.
Thanks for the review about adding the eufy cameras to the home base. I was considering getting homebase but the main reason I won't at this time is the loss of the eufy audio. That ability of the eufy cameras was my main reason to start using eufy cameras. I was exploring adding audio to my wired cameras when I discovered the eufy cams.
Yeah audio quality is not super great across the board for any wireless or even wired camera. Range and weather noise are the biggest issues. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hi Adam. I'm here looking at this system after a bit of an incident my daughter had at her house.. Cost $ 548 extra cams $ 180.. I will get her to watch this video for set up : (
Great review Adam, thanks alot! It helps me to choose the best option for outside security camera system. I got one simple question - is static/fixed IP number necessary to stream video live outside my local wifi network?
yes, this is great. Thanks for the video I would definately buy it. I'm surprised they don't require subscription. Do you know the storage capacity on the Eufy cam 2c2 kit?
Hey Labeeb, thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed the video! The cams talk to the base and the base has a 16GB storage capacity. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great review with great information! Thank you! Do you know how far away from the home Base the camera can be placed? We want to use it in the back of our garden. Thank you again!
Hi, great review! The cameras need to connect to the home base, or they can connect to the Wi-Fi and then connect to the home base? Big house here and i can’t reach everywhere with just one home base
Hello, thanks for your comment. The base needs to be set up first, then the cameras connect to the base. You can set the base in wireless mode instead of ethernet mode for better wifi range, or another base would be needed. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! 😊
Just wondering if this particular camera system can only be mounted on a vertical wall or can they be mounted on a horizontal situation such as under the eaves or on cross-beams under a carport, they don’t seem to be able to be angled at 90 degrees if mounted on a roof ?????? Thanks 👍
@@AdamsTechLife Thanks, I've just realised it might be a bit awkward to mount from a horizontal surface using the mount provided. Would you say it would be, e.g. if hanging down from below the eaves of house etc?
G'day from Down Under Adam.. Great video and many thanks for the time you took to walk through each step and for sharing your opinions. I have a question that I'm hoping you or a fellow commenter might have an answer for. I contacted Apple asking why I couldn't receive any notifications when connected to Apple Carplay? The tech said he had no idea but would forward my complaint (about potential design flaws in their OS as well as Eufy's. I left a similar complaint/enquiry with Anker however after a month they haven't bothered to reply. Does anyone know if it is possible to get notifications when out and about in the motor car? This seems to me to be a huge oversight when both parties were developing their respective software packages. As security cams become more and more ubiquitous I need to be notified of any nefarious activity on my property whilst I'm away on long driving trips. I don't use homekit as it doesn't have 2-way talk or floodlight as you stated. Keep up the great videos. Even though this is seen as a huge design flaw by myself - I couldn't find a single thread anywhere in the world about the singular, important issue I'm having. Thanks in advance Adam, cheers form Oz.
Hey Johnny, thank for watching and for your comment. I have tested this in cars with CarPlay and without CarPlay and have not received any notifications from Eufy. I haven’t actually thought of that feature before, that’s a good point. It would be nice to get notified via CarPlay if there is motion or a person alert and I wish this feature was added. Thanks for your support!
@@AdamsTechLife Hi Adam , Thanks for this great video. Since I’m french, I’m not sure I did understand what you said about how the night light works when the camera are connected to HomeKit… Beside the battery life, the main difference between eufycam 2 and 2C is the night light, if the night light mode doesn’t work with HomeKit, what’s the point of getting 2C instead of 2 ? What I like to think is that I can’t turn manually the night light on in HomeKit but it will still turn on automatically when motion is detected so we keep this “advantage” over the eufycam 2 when using HomeKit. Am I right ??? Thanks again and keep up your great work !
Hey Augusto, thanks for your comment. You can adjust some light settings in the Eufy app to save battery life but it probably wouldn’t do much since HomeKit is the biggest battery hog. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video bro. May i ask you if you can use the cam for live viewing? How long the battery can last if you do live view for around 8 hrs daily? Also, does this cam detects small pets like rabbits for monitoring? Thanks again
Thank you. Yes, can view from phone live feed. Battery depends on weather, streaming from home app, etc. don’t think detect rabbits. Thanks for watching! 😊 if you want View a live feed 24/7 of animals, a battery powered camera is not a good option. A Wyze or eufy indoor cam is good for this.
@@AdamsTechLife thanks for the quick reply. Honestly the cam I’m looking to monitor my bunnies at night for 8 hrs inside the house. I’m looking for wire free cam with no power adapter too. So my only option is battery power. But what do you advise me to pick? This cam? I have a mesh system network at home
In your case eufy cam 2c is a good choice. Just know you won’t get the full 6 months of battery life as it’s not meant to be live streamed 8 hours a day but it will work.
I’m not sure if the exact degree but it can go pretty far though of course not 100%, at least not with first party mounts. You’re limited by the piece it’s mounting to
Hi Adam, thanks for the informative video! I am thinking of getting the Eufy 2C. Quick question. Can you tell me what the difference is between the Home App and the Eufy App? Thanks, Lizette
Can you leave the eufy 2c plugged in all the time? I can place one near an outlet outside, but I don’t know if it’ll catch on fire or something hazardous. It will be under a roof away from weather
Damn. I wouldn’t be able to get direct sunlight from that area. Your videos are very informative. How has the eufy 2c been holding up if you still use it?
Great video. I had a question about these cameras though. Do you know why my camera that I installed on my porch detects every motion that it sees even though I added 2 motion detection area zones and I kept the street out of the zones so I would not get notified when cars would drive by. I still however get notified even though the street is out of the zone. This is annoying. Cameras are great though
Hey Jaime, thanks for your comment. Maybe lower the detection sensitivity? And activity zones don’t transfer from the eufy app to the home app. You could also just enable motion for human alerts. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife Thank you for the reply. A last question. Having mesh Wi-Fi at home, can I keep the cameras further away from the base or do they have an independent communication system?
Guys i want to buy a camera to put on my room while i go on holidays to my country for 15 days to check if my roommates invade my room. If il be thousands of kilometeres away would i be able to check live on my phone the images?
Hey man thanks for the informative video! I am wanting to get one of these systems for my mother but she doesn't have home internet / wifi.. i was wondering, if i was to buy a wifi hub and not have it connected to the internet, could i get the system up and running that way? If not, is there any way to get the cameras up and running without wifi or an internet connection? Thanks in advance :)
Hey, Charlie! Thanks for watching and for your comment. The base will need a Wi-Fi connection to stream the live feeds of the cameras and store the footage, I don't believe a hotspot/cell service will work. Hope this helps!
Hi Adam, I have Eufy Cam 2C and I added to Homekit but I have no secure recordings or timeline, just streaming. Do you have some idea why is this happening? Firmware is OK, updates, anything. I don't know what to do ...can you help me? Thanks!
Hello Ximena, thanks for your comment. So open up the live view of the camera in HomeKit and you should see a cog wheel at the top near the middle of the screen. Tap that and and scroll down to “Recording Options” then under when home or when away, tap stream and then you’ll see options for “Stream & Allow Recording”. Tap that and it’ll start to record. You’ll need an iCloud storage plan and a HomeKit hub (iPad, Apple TV, or HomePod) for recording as well. Hope this helps and thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife Thanks Adam for your answer, but I did it many times and it doesn't work. I have iCloud, storage plan, apple TV, etc. All my devices updated, firmware as well.... anyway Homekit is showing the orange square "live" in the left corner in the bottom. If you have any if you have any advice, it will be much appreciated. Many thanks!!!
@@AdamsTechLife Thank you anyway... In all my efforts one of my 3 cameras is now working right, recording & streaming!!! I believe it happened when I disconnected notifications in the eufy app, but still works only in one cam.... I'll continue try and try.... thank you a lot!!! Love your videos
Hey Cam365, thanks for your comment. There are pros and cons to each app. If you use the home app to manage your other devices, you can view your cams in one place instead of having to switch to another app just to view a camera feed. Thanks for watching! 😊
My internet connection is very unreliable and I am often offline. Can this system function without an active internet connection? I live in the country and have to use a mobile hotspot for internet.
Hey Talu, thanks for your comment. I don’t quite understand what you mean. These cameras work with iOS and android phones. As well as HomeKit for iOS devices
@@AdamsTechLife Thanks, I'm trying to find a useable solution for cameras, and I'm not sure if these would fill the need. Local storage compared to "others" is definitely a win.
Have you tried cleaning the lenses with a micro fiber cloth? When I took one down to charge one time I put it back up and realized I had fingerprints all over the lenses so it was foggy. I cleaned it with a micro fiber cloth and it was good to go.
