Brilliant song and performance by this talent deserving of wider recognition. Funky music, great lyrics, a bridge --- nice to see that old West Coast style back. Actual song starts around 2:00, if you want to skip ahead.
Well when I was living in California, I was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Youth Choir of Vallejo and in 1999 when I was 5 or 6 years old, Eugene Cole taught us this song by Christopher Brinson & The Ensemble called “What If God”
Eugene (Dwayne) Cole is one of the most exciting gospel singers that I have ever heard. I make it a point to catch him in live performances every chance I get. Keep on praising God Dwayne. And you have made it!!!
God this brings back memories of my early childhood, I remember watching this on Gospel Video Countdown as a kid. I learned who so many gospel artists were through that show. I miss it and the Black Family Channel.
I have the CD that this song is on. It's called "Jesus is the Balm." This is track 3 of the CD after the overture which is track 2. I also worked with Eugene Cole when I was in the Friendship Baptist Church Youth Choir.
This was tracks 2 and 3 from Eugene's 2nd album "Jesus Is The Balm" and was the 2nd song I learned by this amazing man of God that I've worked with when I was 6 or 7 years old.
Eugene, I knew I'd find you somewhere on the Internet. This is Miss Dee Dee, the twins' caregiver. I'm searching and searching for "My Soul Is Anchored...." Thank you for posting; this is GREAT! God Bless.....
