Thanks for all the hard work guys. Just remember to not to listen to everyone as you can't keep everyone happy

Yes indeed, there is a fine line of taking on valid feedback and feedback that comes from people who just want the same same because it has always been like that. As Henry Ford apparently said; if I would have asked my customers what they wanted, I would have sold faster horses. That said, not listening will also lead to failure, so you have to get the balance right. Hope we are on the right track :)

Hey guys. Excellent stuff once again. Are there any plans to change the disassembly process of the rifle? The one gripe I have with my Taipan is that it takes quite a while to take apart and clean if required, whereas with an Oceania or Warwick there are simple takedown pins. Whilst I understand having a similar system may increase the cost, (or even the risk of the rifle not being approved under appearance laws?) I personally think many users would greatly appreciate a less tedious disassembly process for the upper & lower receiver. Regardless, I am over the moon to see an Australian company that is this engaged with its customers. I put a preorder down a few weeks ago and I am delighted to see the continuous improvements following this rifles manufacturing journey. A wooden stock certainly sounds cool as well! Wishing you all the best Phil

Thanks Phil for the feedback. We have discussed the take down pins a few times internally but for now Jim and Rick are of the opinion that the screws will offer a better longevity than pins. I'll keep at them and will pass on the feedback tho.

There is, with all due respect, a significant difference between doing a quick field strip and clean of your personal-issued-weapon, in the bush, before carrying out other duties related to your section, etcetera; versus stripping and cleaning your civilian rifle either standing by your wagon/ute OR at home in your garage/workshop😁. I can vouch for this fact.

Good to see you guys working out the issues, In regards to making the lever adjustable, would it be easy to design it so that it has multiple holes (attachment points) at small spaced intervals like a belt buckle that the user can undo and make it the correct length? Kind of like a lego technic?
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 4 месяца назад
That is literately what Rick had in mind. Now the difficult part is how to machine it without it costing a fortune. Keeping in mind a lever shall not cost more than 5 bucks, otherwise the gun gets too expensive. Fine balance and maybe an after market option. We will see what we can do.

Great comms and transparency. I'm really enjoying this approach, listening and response from Eureka. Am I to understand that the barrel extension you are planning to supply on the production rifle will be a standard AR item?
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 4 месяца назад
Yes the barrel extension is standard specs, so it should be straight forward to get custom barrels made later on.

If you want the rifle to be acceptable to NSW & Tas "appearance" mandates, just paint it with a rainbow flag, if anyone objects, tell them they are homophobic.

Would it be possible for you guys to test other AR pattern magazines in the rifle? Such as the cross industries 10/10 cross mags, as well as steel mags, lancer polymer mags, etc I only ask because a certain NSW compliant rifle named after a snake has issues feeding from anything aside from 10 round gen 3 pmags and it would be nice if the stockade doesn't have the same issue

Thumb 66mm -For the thumb lever, could you use a pin with a spline; offering 2 or 3 different lever sizes in a T6 or T7 aluminum. If you used perhaps 8 or 10 spline, you could adjust the angle to optimize. Understanding there would be some cost involved there. Great to see your progress!

Really interesting update fellas, glad to see the issues being ironed out. Personally i reckon the rifle looks mint and like the idea of the lever being for the thumb. Interested in seeing the effect in accuracy with disconnecting the gas block from the forend, i reckon its the right move as most my hunting I'll lean on the ute door or qaud bike handle bars putting upwards pressure on the fore-end. Also wondering if you'll ad a dust cover and a handle slot cover like the FNC or galil? (i know it will probably increase price greatly) im sick of cleaning dust out of my rifles. Cheers fellas
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 4 месяца назад
We are mindful of the dust entering the action. We have already reduces the area that is open when the action is closed to the absolute minimum. Honestly, if you keep the action closed, you will be fine. I would love to do a mud drop test as well and show how the action shoots out the mud during firing....I just need the new receiver. A dust cover is currently not planned for as it would be very expensive to make. Hope we can offer it as an after market option later......if necessary. Great feedback tho! Thanks

Why not just have some different size/ length levers available as optional extras
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 3 месяца назад
It all comes down to production cost. The moment you make two options hence cuts the production in half, your costs go up significantly. For example, the factory might say, if you by 1000 units it will cost 10 bucks, but 500 units will cost 50 bucks each. So the most cost effective way would be to have one version. If we can have one version but make it adjustable at a reasonable price, that would be the best outcome. Hope that helps to understand the dilemma?
@jasonsquid7246
@jasonsquid7246 4 месяца назад
Probably been asked and answered multiple times, but I was wondering what barrel lengths you are planning for so far? Thanks
@Hiraeth91537
@Hiraeth91537 4 месяца назад
At the moment I believe the options are a 16.5" bull barrel and a 20" fluted varmint barrel.
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 3 месяца назад
Hi, the options are 16.5inch and 20inch, both will be match barrels as the weight is lower and the accuracy higher than the standard barrel. Both barrels are available in 1/8 and 1/12 twist. Hope that helps?

Appearance laws should be challenged in the court of law. As you say, appearance is subjective. Something either is or is not a semi automatic. Its black and white.

Would it be to expensive to just offer 2 sizes of lever?
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 4 месяца назад
Offering two sizes would likely be feasible unless the supplier charges more for smaller quantities as you need to split the total quantity by two different designs. You also would need to increase your overall inventory to keep enough of both in stock. Thought it might just be another 5-10 bucks more, it adds up as the retail price would increase by 4x of the manufacturing costs, so total increase of RRP by 20-40 bucks. I will run the numbers tho

Make a slightly different model for the cucked states and pass on the costs. The other states shouldn’t have to fall to the stricter states laws
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies 4 месяца назад
I hear what you are saying! Challenge is that this would slow both designs down as you have to manage and test two designs. Plus we would sell significantly less if the price goes up from where it already is. That said, I hope to see a "non restricted" version in the future for the states that can play. Time will tell what can be done, keep up the feedback! Cheers
